  1. The team should suspend press credentials when these losers make stuff up. Posting Hughes needed IV fluids because he was so sick? Bam, no team access for 30 days.
  2. The tone of the OP was a bit of tongue-in-cheek satire of how CDC is after a win vs a loss: The "they finally won a game edition." Have to have fun with these somehow when the season is going this poorly haha.
  3. Tale of the Tape: The good guys have begun their miraculous season turn-around last game by dusting of the Canadiens. Wednesday night they look to make it a win streak against the struggling Senators. Come on, Senators? Go back to the Upper House and review a bill for legislative consistency or constitutionality. You don't belong on the ice! Vancouver doesn't have much going in the way of player streaks: No Canucks has more than 2 points in their last 5 games. Brady Tklkahjsfd;gkljhafsg;l (Ugly junior) has 4 points in his last 5, leading the Sens. Line ups: (I'll update the graphic as more info* comes available) *By info, I mean plagiarizing @-Vintage Canuck-'s reporting Canucks #2 RD is Luke Schenn Senators GO CANUCKS GO
  4. Holy crap. Jack has a career high of 31 points and 55 total points in 119 games. That's the same points/game as Höglander, without Höglander's high effort fearless play.
  5. I was at the draft, my lack of cheering was because the Canucks miss-pronounced his name so badly I was staring at my draft card going: "Who?" trying to read down the list for a name that was sorta close to what was announced.
  6. It wasn't hard to like Green for the first few years. He started with a rebuilding team and improved for 3 straights years, culminating in a nice playoff run and winning 2 rounds. Our Rookies were put in great positions to succeed and we had 3 straight Calder finalists. The team seemed to like him and buy in. Then the wheels fell off last year and he hasn't been able to turn it around. There is no buy-in any more and the team is a disaster. I do think that (at least partially) is Green's fault. It's time to move on from Green, but he did serve us well for 3 years.
  7. Canucks have been on a terrible slide since I set my PVR to record all games (first home game after the 3-2-1 road trip). I have now turned off my PVR.
  8. Is that the first SHG of Pettersson's career?
  9. Should be the same as it was against Dallas, but Halak in for Demko.
  10. Zegras is day-to-day with an upper body injury and not confirmed for tonight.
  11. It looks like they're going for the OTW shirt style: Edit: My 2000th post, nearly took 11 years.
  12. Schenn is day to day with a LBI. Doesn't sound like he'll be ready tomorrow (was absent from practice today)
  13. It's a garbage team with garbage players. Okay, they're 3rd in the division, but I don't like them
  14. CANUCKS VS DUCKS November 9th at 7PM on Sportsnet Pacific After figuring out how to score a power play goal on Sunday evening against Dallas, our heroes are back in action Tuesday night to take on some water fowl (more like they turn the water foul, am I right?). JT Miller and Connor Garland are off to hot starts for the good guys, with 14 and 11 points, respectively, though their first 12 games. Pettersson's recent 3 point night propelled him back to a reasonable 0.75 ppg, but he's still hungry to find the back of the net a little more. For the dumb birds: Tory Terry (who?) is having a break-out with 14 points through his first 12 games. His previous season high (through 3 seasons) is 20 points. John Gibson is excellent, as usual, with a 5 - 2 record a .923 save % and a 2.40 GAA. Line ups: CANUCKS *3 and 4 LW are Podz and Bailey Ducks *3LD is Simon Benoit Previous Meeting: Go Canucks Go!
  15. A successful cross-ice or crease pass is more likely of you're playing them tight rather than collapsing. The PK is going to give up space no matter what. If you want the PKers to play close to the attackers you're giving up space in the middle of the ice. That's space for a passing lane to develop or for a forward to slink into for a shot (when Horvat moves into the slot for his 1 timer). Higher risk of a cross ice pass being successful, but higher chance of forcing an error and getting a take-away. If you want the PKers to collapse to the net, you remove more of the space in the middle of the ice, but surrender the perimiter. The PP can throw it around the outside more and are less likely to turn the puck over, but have a harder time going cross-ice. The key is adjusting on the fly based on the skill set of the PP, how they try to gain the zone, how fresh the ice is, etc, etc.
  16. Pettersson, Miller, Boeser, Horvat, and Hughes with multi-point games. That's just what we needed.
  17. What do you mean by lost? 1st in the division is probably out of reach, it's the Oilers' to lose. But 3rd and a playoff spot? That's ours for the taking.
  18. I think we have an opportunity for him to play C next year. Assuming our Cs are Pettersson, Horvat, and Dickinson; Karlsson could fit there. We need a centre for PP2 if we're still going to load up the first unit with Miller, Pettersson, and Horvat. Could see him carving out a nice role for himself with ~9-10 even strength minutes plus secondary special teams. (I think he's killing penalties in the SHL this year too). I think they could at least sell him on there being an opportunity to earn that spot at camp.
  19. Oh yeah, goos point. I wasn't counting Bailey. I wonder if it'll be more than a game or two for Dowling?
  20. We currently have an available LTIR pool of $2.7mil. Waiving the player Hamonic is replacing will bring our cap space up to a minimum of $3.45 million. Pleanty of room for Hamonic.
  21. Yes! Garland, Horvat, Pettersson, Boeser, Hughes on PP1 Miller, Hoglander, Pearson, Chaisson, OEL on PP2 (if Chaisson is scratched, use Podz or maybe even go with 2D and add Rathbone.).
  22. Canucks 5-3, Boeser with the GWG, Hoglander with the first home goal.
