Yeah, definitely more of a Horvat comparable than Pettersson. So the comparison is $5.5 x 6 vs $7.875 x 8, which seems pretty fair. More UFA years, signed a few years later = more dollars.
Bo's deal is a solid bargain, Suzuki's probably will be too.
We had 4 while Hank was captain too. (Yes, 2 home, 2 away)
Danny, Kesler, Malhotra, Bieksa in 2011. I think the A moved from Malhotra to Salo (or maybe Edler?) in 2012
Yes. Limited offense and not a face off ace by any means. But he played 3C with 58% D zone starts and over 2 minutes of PK per game for San Jose last year.
He played 3C (16 minutes average toi) on a bad San Jose team last year. I don't think he'd be out of place as a 4C on a decent team. Right handed, defensive, centre? I'd take him.
Bowey has looked pretty good in pre-season though. We're not going to have both Bowey and Schenn in the regular line-up, they're battling for the 3rd pair RD spot while the Hamonic business is up in the air
Something close to the pracrice lines yesterday, I would imagine. This is what they lookes liked:
Pearson-Horvat-Höglander
Petan-Miller-Podkolzin/Bailey
Garland-Pettersson-Chiasson/MacEwen
Di Giuseppe-Dickinson-Dowling/Highmore
Hughes-Poolman
OEL-Myers
Rathbone-Schenn
Hunt-Bowey
Demko Halak
I think most of CDC thinks it's a decent result. Close game where the team of Petey, Hughes, Miller, Garland, Dickinson, and a bunch of borderline players/4th liners and prospects held their own against the Oiler's full line up.
