  1. Yeah because it happened with Joulevi means it automatically will happen with every D we pick. Don't act like you know everything, especially more than our scouts. You have some of the worst takes I've seen on this site and you're free to go cheer for another team. I don't think you'll be missed here
  2. Revenge game for Canada, but it won't be easy. Czechs have looked really good this tourny. Biggest difference though is Canada has Bedard and if he decides to take over the game, then Canada should win. Go Canada!
  3. Maybe pick a different username if you don't want people commenting on it? From what I've seen in this thread recently, there's been no real harrasment at all and you seem to be very keen on playing the victim here.
  4. So excited to finally get the season started. Hoping for a win but it'll be tough to stop McDavid. Thinking Campbell helps us out a bit here and we come out with a 5-3 win.
  5. As much as I agreed with you that there's no reason to hate on the dog media posts, posts like this and the one right after from you are just as much not needed. If the negativity here is getting to the level where you feel the need to respond like this, then maybe you should take a break from cdc or start using the ignore button. No point in going right down into their level of negativity.
  6. Figured he'd end up retiring. 25 seasons is a long time to be in the league and he had an amazing career. Next stop is into the HoF.
  7. Big center from the USHL. Maybe this will make the people looking for size happy
  8. There are options out there as stop gaps for a season or 2 until the right player comes around. Anybody they draft now are 2 or 3 years away at the earliest before they're making an impact on our roster. Would you want them to reach for a pick in the first round just for needs? This rarely works out well for a team. Lekkerimaki is a great pick and will end up being a very good player for us. About the best you could expect for a 15th overall pick. I'm sure they did their diligence and tried to see if there were any trades where they could move up/down or acquire another pick but clearly they either weren't there, or the cost was too high. There's an entire off season still to go, let's wait a bit before we start roasting management for not doing exactly what you wanted them to.
  9. I assumed that since he's drafted and playing out of Europe, he can still go to the AHL? I thought this was how it worked anyways. Either way, it was more meant in general not Lekkerimaki specifically. With that said if that's true, he can still play in the NHL, Sweden or CHL which would still be more options than a CHL player where it's NHL or back to the CHL.
  10. Free agency hasn't even opened yet, so the only other place they could sign from were college free agents. Maybe they don't see any of them being worth a contract spot? Way too early to be saying this. Also, it will take time to get younger, faster and harder to play against. They aren't doing it in 1 draft. They're going to take BPA in the first round and they most definitely did. There's still free agency and trades where they can address needs as well as later drafts.
  11. Or it could just be that their bpa at each of their picks just happened to come from Sweden? I doubt they're drafting these kids just because they're swedish. That being said, if the players are equal, I'd rather them draft from Europe over CHL players. Easier to control their development.
  12. Would love to see us get an early 2nd and pick up Chesley or Trikozov. That being said, we'd most likely have to trade Garland for it and I'd hope the pick alone wouldn't be the only piece coming back for that.
  13. Mcdavids team got swept by a dominant Colorado team. He's the best player in the league and carried them(along with Draisaitl) into the 3rd round. Where did Tavares get Toronto again? Right, out in the first round yet again. Tavares has won 1 playoff round in his career and at 31, is just now exiting his prime years. Where has his "leadership" got him? McDavid is not the reason Edmonton got swept, but he is the reason they made it to the final four I don't like using +- but Tavares is a career -13 in the playoffs and a -26 lifetime in the regular season. So much for keeping the puck out of the net? In comparison, Mcdavid is a +17 in the playoffs and a +92 in the regular season. With almost being a point per game player, Tavares's +- should be a bit higher if we're calling him an elite two-way player. Just with Toronto, his +- is a bit better in the reg season at a +16 in 4 seasons but Tavares plays behind Matthews and doesn't even face the hardest defensive assignments. He's also a -8 in the playoffs with them. You'd think he'd be able to thrive more on that, as Malkin did in Pitts behind Crosby and Drai does in Edmonton. On the original topic, if Wright turns into a Tavares for Seattle then I'm fine with that. We'll just watch them choke and not win a series his entire career.
  14. No, I'm being completely serious. Do you honestly put him in the same sentence as Ryan O'Reilly, Bergeron, Kopitar, Barkov, Crosby, Couturier, Toews and Lindholm among other for more recently? These are just off the top of my head. There are of course a ton more that are WAY better defensively that would go in the "two-way" category, but with nowhere near the offense output so I didn't bother adding them. Hell even on his own team, I'd say Matthews is more of and a better "two-way" centerman than Tavares. I guess it goes by what you define as "one of the best". He's had one 8th place Selke placing which was 6 seasons ago now, never again finishing above 19th. He's a good offensive player though, that much isn't really debatable. I just wouldn't put him in the same category as those listed for two-way play with good/elite offense.
  15. Lol what?? I'm sorry but this take is just horrible. Did you not watch what McDavid did in the playoffs? What has Tavares ever done again? Swap Mcdavid and Tavares and Toronto most likely wins the cup this year even with their terrible goaltending and defence. Tavares on Edmonton? They don't even make the playoffs... Also, when has Tavares ever been called one of the best two-way players?
  16. Hey nothing wrong with being dyslexic. People generally only attack grammar/spelling when they can't attack your opinion/argument. I chose the difference in winning percentage between the Green and Bruce "eras". Team looked completely different when Bruce took over.
  17. Yup. It's great to see how he's turned around the defensive side of his game too. He's only going to get better, both offensively and defensively.
  18. Can't wait to watch Hughes consistently push 70+ pts every year
  19. Yeah it's possible. Mind boggling that people always think they know more than the coach. There was a reason why they were sent out. Did it help us win? No, but it wasn't why we lost either. Time to move on to the next game.
  20. I was talking more about the shootout, but I'm sure he had his reasons for OT as well. Either way, it's not the reason we lost..
  21. People calling out Boudreau for the Petan choice... The coach sees these players in practice, he'll put out who he thinks has the best chance to score. If he scores there, everyone is calling him a genius but because he doesn't, it's a "bad" decision. Unfortunately it didn't work out.
