  1. it has more or less become just a discussion about Burrows. More of a place for adoration than anything. Was looking at some stats, interestingly enough if Burrows manages to play all 82 games this season he will finish with exactly 700 regular season games with the Canucks (good for franchise 8th overall).
  2. Would have liked to see him go to AHL but with the dpeth the team has this year he would probably end up in Kalamazoo anyways, might as well let him play 22 minutes a game as an over-ager. Hoping Cedarholm goes back to junior as well. We'll see them both in Utica next year.
  3. Ugh.. Remember how we could have had have jägr?
  4. He spent a decade playing against the twins in the same division, he knows what they are capable of. He is an older player and if he has faith in himself to be a game changer, you have to believe he feels the same way about Hank and Dank. If I were him I would be looking at the twins assist rates and think "damn I could rack up a lot of goals with them." I'm not saying it is the most likely scenario, but I don't believe it is improbable either. Plus, we need a player on our team who has history with, and will willingly go and fight Kesler
  5. "Sign with us and you will play on a line with the Sedins for 4 years." I don't care who you are that is a tempting offer.
  6. He isn't terrible, he is on a terrible team. I think he will really fit in with Tampa.
  7. I'm going to p*** myself laughing if they use Yakupov to get defense from Boston.
  8. I just hope that if he does sign Vancouver fans go in to it with support. No need to drive him out before he even plays a game.
  9. You land Ehrhoff, Iginla, and Stastny and this team is a legit contender IMHO. It won't happen of course, but I think the team would be much better than one with Kesler, Garrison, and Booth.
  10. I like what I am reading about him, most top defensemen in the league aren't found in the first round. I'll be following his progress in Russia (its awesome to be able to mention Russia again) with a lot of interest.
  11. Yup. Then Malhotra went down Torres - Lapierre - Hansen Higgins - Bolduc - Glass And then Samuelsson went down.. Higgins - Kesler - Mayray Torres - Lapierre - Hansen Glass - Bolduc - Tambellini And then May ray went down..... and that is how you end up with ... Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Higgins - Kesler - Tambellini Torres - Lapierre - Hansen Glass - Hodgson/Bolduc - Oreskovich ... Sigh.. Such a good group of guys.. now I am sad. Stupid Bruins. So sad that Oreskovich played 19 playoff games that year.
  12. Also no guarantee he doesn't Also no guarantee Nashville matches after he signs it. 4 first round picks for a player that signed a one year offer sheet just to become UFA the following season? Seems like the smarter choice if that were the situation.
  13. Philly's was the 14 year deal that Nashville is currently hit with for the rest of his career. Vancouver's offer was for 1 year which, matched or not, meant Weber was a UFA the following season. Not a moot point.
  14. I look at our situation and think we are still in a good spot with our defense without a major move. Moving Booth and Kesler opens up a lot of room on the roster for UFA's/young players but with 2 young goalies having the defense we have and maybe adding 1 piece is essential for the teams success. Having a Calgary/Edmonton defense in front of Lack would be a disaster. That said I still think back to the philly/van offer sheet dilemma Weber had. If he had signed ours instead of Philly's we could have had: Edler - Weber Hamhuis - Tanev Garrison - Bieksa Stanton - Corrado Sigh... One of Gillis/Gilman's best moves is the one that didn't work out, Weber made a terrible mistake signing Philly's OS..
  15. I think maybe a few spots, if Linden is deadset on selecting him if a trade up isn't available (Reinhart) Move back to 8th and take Franson off Toronto's hands.
  16. Toews and Kane can be handled by Hamhuis - Tanev, I am very confident in them in a strictly high QoC defensive role. Garrison - Bieksa vs. secondary competition and high OZ% starts could be a fairly dominant pairing going forward.
  17. One good sign from this tournament is that a Garrison - Bieksa pairing is actually quite sturdy. Both played monster minutes this tournament and played well in all situations. Hamhuis - Tanev Garrison - Bieksa Edler, Stanton, Weber, Corrado, UFA, Trade for that final pairing
  18. Pretty much. Although if we acquire the 10th overall there is a much better chance of him still being available now.
  19. So.... you don't like Hank and Dank then?
  20. That is what I'm talking about! Captain Juice, never have I been so excited for a WC.He will punch his way to gold!
  21. Say what you want about this series 6 playoff games in 9 days is absolutely stupid. LA - Anh haven't even played gm 3 yet and NY was matched up against a well rested Pittsburgh. This was terrible scheduling and NY never had a chance. Good job NHL.
  22. I think I like more players on the Sharks than the Kings. It is close and there are a lot that I dislike on both teams but tonight I hope Hertl can get revenge on Brown in the form of a series win. Plus I sort of want to see Raffi running Getzlaf and Perry all series.
  23. Boo! It's so easy to hate Keith but he's a hell of a player..
