  1. Penguins are awful. They need to make some major changes. Just a pitiful excuse for an effort tonight. It's the playoffs and they don't even look a little bit interested.

Sutter, Bennett, Adams, Glass, Vitale, and Gibbons/Megna. Worst bottom 6 in the playoffs, by far. No depth at all past the 2nd line.

  2. Refs might as well have been wearing Montreal jerseys. What a joke. I hope they get owned in the 2nd round.

  3. Quenneville gets a 25k fine for grabbing his nuts, while Lucic will most likely get nothing for spearing a guy in the nuts. Makes sense.

I guess if you are knocking the league it makes sense but you said it get nothing as if nothing happened. He will likely get fined. Hartnell was just fined for doing the same thing

Well he did the exact same thing to Emelin a few weeks ago and got nothing

Jarome Iginla shook his head on that one. You'd think some class would rub off. Nope.

  4. Burke is going to take Ritchie. Just watch.

IMO if both were available at 6 we need to make a trade to get both

acording to TSN, Dal Colle just moved up to 3rd overall in their rankings. I really hope someone takes Ritchie and LD falls to #6. Draisaitl as the #1 C, Horvat #2 and gaunce #3

  5. Bob McKenzie's rankings aren't what he thinks. He polls a number of scouts and then ranks the prospects based on what the scouts said. I think he polled 16 different scouts this year from different teams. EDIT: Just looked it up. It's 12 NHL team scouts.
  6. Ranked 8th on B Mac's list and yet a lot of guys on here are making it sound like he won't even go in the top 10... This draft is rather weak. Outside the top 5 the talent drops off a bit. There isn't much difference from 6 to 10. I say go with the local kid. The Canucks have never drafted local kids and they have missed out on some really special players as a result. The Nucks need to start drafting more local kids and I say start with Virtanen. There is no player outside the top 5 that has distinguished themselves from the rest. I would say that the 6-10 group are all pretty equal and I would argue that if you're looking for a tie breaker to decide what player to draft then you should go with the local kid. Playing for the team you grew up cheering for has got to give you some extra motivation. Hell I know if it was me I would be 10x more motivated to play for the Canucks then any other team in the NHL. (Mike Santorelli anyone?) That being said if one of the top 5 ranked guys fall out of the first 5 picks then you have to take him. Or if the scouts have seen something that they think is special in another player then go with him. The scouts know more than I do.
  7. I want Virtanen. But then again I haven't scouted these kids for a year. I'm just going to let the scouts do their job and let them make the pick. When it comes to prospects I haven't paid that much attention to, I trust their opinion more than my own or anybody else here.
  8. Pens in 6. Flower will wilt once again and Vokoun will come up and play awesome in his first games this season giving the Penguins the stability they need in net. Fleury will then either be bought out or traded in the summer.
  9. I swear to frickin god, if Feaster is our next GM I may lose my ****.

  10. So who's going to be the scape goat next year if things don't go our way?
  11. Big mistake IMO.

  12. Did anyone actually believe that we were going to make the playoffs?

I looked at how PHX/DAL had to play 3 desperate teams + either STL/SJ and it gave me hope that 0-4 was more realistic than I had thought. =/

  13. Wow just wow. Nyquist is special. Just walked around Chara like he was a pylon. Wow.

Looked pretty clean, Orpik slowed up even and toews was starting to turtle because he new it was Nighty night : D

It was completely clean. Arm down, shoulder to shoulder, didn't leave his feet. It was textbook. And it's not like it was Toews' head that got hurt. It was his arm.

  15. This is bull. This is ???? bull. The league once again demonstrates just how ???? retarded they are. The ONLY reason this isn't a suspension is because it's Burrows. Ever since Burrows called out Auger for ???? us in that game he doesn't get any calls. It's exactly like Jamie Benn on Matt Cooke earlier this year. Apparently according to the league Cooke and Burrows do not deserve to have equal rights. And there is nothing we can do about it. We just have to sit here and take it like ???? assholes. If we say ANYTHING every other fan around the league will comment about how we're whiners or how classless we are. And then they'll turn right around and say that Burrows deserved it. The league can get away with it because everyone hates us. Since everyone is on the league's side, they can do whatever the frack they want to us. ???? frack frack. I ???? hate this league. And you wonder why the Bertuzzi incident happened eh. The league won't stand up for us so somebody has to.
  16. The Canucks are pretty good.

  17. To be clear, #pens feel Vancouver ownership nixed trade that would have sent Kesler to Pittsburgh. — Rob Rossi (@RobRossi_Trib) March 5, 2014
  18. After all this trade talk I bet Gillis will end up doing nothing in the end.

    1. Langdon Algur

      Langdon Algur

honestly given the current state of the Canucks, nothing may be the way to go. No sense getting a rental player, but the core is still around so a total rebuild seems to reactionary. A 'hockey trade' to shake the team up might be nice though.

    2. smithers joe

      smithers joe

he won't trade away core players if the right deal isn't there...summer might be the right time to do this...if he took less, the fans would be all over him for giving players away..

      TimberWolf

If Gillis does nothing it will be because there was no good trade to be had.

  19. Man I can't even focus on school right now. I'm too excited for the trade deadline. I really, really want Pouliot. Kid is going to be a friggin stud.

      drummer4now

^exactly Gillis will probably make a lame excuse like he's going to wait till the draft to mess things up.

  20. If we could get Pouliot I would be psyched. Kid is going to be amazing.
  21. http://blog.triblive.../#axzz2uvvAkitn Interesting to note that the Penguins would rather give up picks then their prospects. But it's also interesting that it sounds like that they would be willing to change that to acquire Kesler. So it sounds like there is some flexibility there. Also interesting that IF the deal happens it might involve more pieces from both sides then just Kelser and Sutter, etc.
