  1. Just played a bit of online poker for the first time in years, and it still sucks. It's not even close to "poker".

No, I didnt lose, I left. Just got frustrated with the pace and the fact you don't get to read your opponent. You know, like poker.

They should call it "rush in like a moron-ker", because if people played poker with real money like they do with online money, people get killed.

All in push, pre-flop, 5 straight hands... So I left. I'd love to meet that guy in a real game though. I love slow playing the intraweb kids.

$20 buy in tourney's with the boys (in a dark, smoked basement)  are always fun.

Played a handful of illegal, after hours cash games about a decade ago. I found it more intense and more rewarding than playing with friends, but it was pretty seedy, sketchy dudes who got pretty sour about losing money.

Last time I played one of those "non-friendly" games I was up about $500 when I wanted to pack it in. Cashed out and two fat &^@#s followed me out and told me not to come back. Was glad I got to keep my teeth

Haha, we weren't serious enough about poker nights to call them 'tourneys'.  Basically, it'd start off with quarter antes (remember, this is mid-80s money) and as the night progressed, the alcohol and THC would loosen people's inhibitions, wallets and good judgement, and people would start throwing small bills on the table.  I think the most I made in one night was a little more than $50.

      That's a good time, Undrafted!

We started that way, it evolved from there. $20 got you "$100" in chips, you could re-up for the first hour if you went bust then "tournament play" began. Dealer called the game. We played til last man standing or "too drunk to finish".

Now most of us have kids. Coming home absolutely ripped at 3am is a real good time until you have to get up at 6 because the little buggers won't let you sleep. Whenever we all get together for seasonal parties and bbq's we talk $&!# about needing to do poker nights again but it never happens. Hopefully once the kids are all teenagers, we will.
