Find me a coach who doesn't rely on his "superstars". The expectation to out-produce your teammates and play the most minutes comes with the territory of being a "superstar". All coaches rely on their superstars. That's not unique to BB, or an indictment of his coaching. It's just the way she goes. If BB was giving ice time to bottom 6 plugs, like Green did, we'd all be losing our minds even worse. So.. yeah.

Poll - Which meltdown has been more spectacular this month?

I'm good with playoff math 2x (5+2²) - 11 4 = no playoffs -
[Discussion] Is it time to ask Bruce Boudreau to resign?
luckylager replied to AV.'s topic in Canucks Talk
This is far too reasonable. If people can't overreact and write irrational replies without even reading the entirety of what it is they're replying to, we're all missing out on high quality cringe posting. -
I agree with most of the sentiment from the op. I'd add that player development is a significant problem as well as scouting, which although could be viewed as married, I'd argue a competent AHL system would be doing a better job at developing at least the occasional mid-late round pick. If we remove Demko from the equation, who has been developed by the Canucks org that actually plays in the NHL? Jonah Gadjovich and Zack McEwan are the only two guys I can think of.

I didn't watch this game, but I hear we blew a 2 goal lead this time, which imo is an improvement because they didn't blow a 3 goal lead, like last game. Things are looking up.- 996 replies

My major beef with Horvat stems from what I see as a bait and switch. When he first entered the league and in the following 4ish years he truly played like The Ox. He was noticeable, he lead the charge, he played like he wanted to prove something and actually cared about winning. There was an intensity and desire to succeed that was noticeable. He wanted to lead, score, match up against the best, and prove himself. He played like he cared, there was fire in his game, and he exemplified all the characteristics we all wanted from a captain. But then he "got there", and he changed. I feel like he was led to believe he could lead a team by trying to copy our former captain. He abandoned the things that made me believe in him for some sort of quasi-Sedinism, but without the necessary skill to back it up. He can't lead with stoicism and a sort of "skate away with head down" mentality. He's just not skilled enough. Maybe it was Green beating the creativity out of him, as he attempted with everyone by trying to deploy 4 checking lines but discouraging aggression and physical play. Goddam plug. Anyways We were duped. He's not the captain as advertised. I'd take 19-21 yr old Horvat 100% of the time over this bland, boring, disinterested, passive, sorry ass excuse for a captain.

Well our defense is pathetic and so is our captain. There, I said it. Way to go J
