Never been as hyped about a young Canuck as I am about Horvat, I have only been watching hockey since 2006, but watching Horvats growth has really made me optimistic
-
I feel like Nolan Patrick is way under hyped this draft year the guy has very, very good numbers consistently at every level.

I think Benning should look into signing/ using a mid/late pick on Maxime Fortier, undrafted with a December 1997 birthday making him 2016 eligible, he posted 77 points in 68 games and he has 82 in 60 so far this year, he is a RW and although he is only 5'10 178 I think he would be a decent pickup.

Glad to see we will be sellers at the deadline

Would hotels take a visa debit as a credit card?

Finally I can use my hotel experience to use!
Unless you have an American Debit you cant pre-authorize on Canadian debit cards as far as I'm aware. However I'd say a majority of hotels take debit deposits (usually $150-$200) plus room plus tax. They usually make you a "cash-only" guest which means taking away your phone/PPV/mini-bar services and room charges at restaurants or other facilities within the hotels services are disabled as well.
By standard at check-out an employee has to go check your room prior to check-out to ensure no damage has occurred and any appliances have been stolen before they can give you back a deposit.
Its definitely more effort than its worth, everyone in the hotel industry prefers credit as its much easier to check-in and check-out guests. **Side tip, never use pre-paid credit cards, they will not work and you will have a hard time getting your money back because a deposit on one of those credit cards creates a black hole for the funds...Hope this helps, lemme know if you have any other hotel q's!

Any know where Evan Bouchard is ranked to go in the draft this year?
-
God dammit how do I manage to get tonsillitis two days before I start my new job...
-
woah Horvat has more points than Tavares so far
-
I was woken up at 830 by a call from an Alberta number which turned out to be an interview for a job I applied for, looks pretty likely that I got it. The New year is looking pretty awesome already and I am beyond stoked to get into the geoscience industry, may only be as a labourer but I got my foot in the door.

Granlund, same amount of goals and Shink has NHL games played this year
-
I didn't know all that much about Granlund at the time and was really only able to judge Shinkaruk on his own. When we had Shink calling him one dimensional would have been a compliment. When Granlund showed up it was clear who the more complete player was, and he's only a year older.
Maybe we'll get lucky and Vegas will take Bachman in the expansion draft.

If people think Benning's drafting is bad look at the Bruin's first round in 2015

@The 5th LineI just had high hopes for Jake. I thought the physicality he had previously would translate to the NHL. Surgery should not preclude a GM from taking a player unless they are looking for and need immediate impact.
I'm disappointed with Jake, but hindsight is 20/20.

Whatever is going on in Antarctica is insane, and imo could change everything we think we know

Ryan Getzlaf scored 68 points in his draft year, 75 the next year and 54 in 51 games the year after. He now has 764 points in 813 games and established himself as a legit #1 Centre. My point is I think Getzlaf looks to be a very comparable player to Horvat thus far in terms of nobody thought their offensive game would ever be good enough to be a legit #1, and I think that a a Getzlaf esque player is a realistic ceiling for Bo to achieve.

Switzerland is starting to develop some very talented players in the recent years. Fiala, Meier, Nino, Baertschi, Josi, this year Nico Hischier looks like a player to add to this list.
