  1. So you give up your Vezina quality goalie who's 29 for a 31 year old goalie who costs you a 1st, a good young RHD over 1.4 mil? I am totally baffled by Sakic's move here. Also, Kuemper is a UFA next year and will likely want more money after a year of being the starter of a good team.
  2. Alf seems to know more about Poolman, but for a guy who zero time on the pp in the past 3 years, 18-19 minutes is a pretty good contribution.
  3. The Kraken are looking better than I would've thought after that draft. Their goaltending is strong, defense will be ok, and their forwards have some speed.
  4. I don't see him as a guy who owns every shift he is on. I could be wrong.
  5. What's cool is the picked up a lot of players that have NHL experience. There will be some excellent competion for who gets the callups for injuries. It will also make sure that Gadjovich, Lockwood, and Woo really have to earn their minutes in the AHL and callups to the show.
  6. I don't get into the advanced stats too much, but 3x2 would have worked. However, on FA day the overpayments are usually much worse than this. I would hardly call it the worst of the day.
  7. Top 6 winger - Garland 3rd Line C - Dickinson 4th line C - Sutter Calder Candidate - Podkolzin, Rathbone Top pairing D - OEL Big, Defensive RHD - Hamonic, Poolman, Schenn All the boxes are checked now get the RFA's done. EP 8 X 8 Hughes 2 X 6 Dickinson 3 X 2 OJ 1 X 1.5 Total 17.25 That uses up our Cap space but we still have the Ferland 3.5 for other moves throughout the year.
  8. Edler, Ohlund, and Jovocop my favourite Canucks d of all time. Can't decide between them. He is a quiet legend! Hope he sucks in LA though!
  9. Played with some really good offensive players in St. Louis. ROR, Schenn, Tarasenko, Perron. Won't have as good players in Seattle. Is 29 and a bit on the decline. 5.5 until he is 34. I think they need some players and had to overpay. Makes 25 year old Garland who scored more last year look that much better and cheaper.
  10. When the filter Dries out the Canucks call the Poolman?
  11. I think Podz is a big boy and mature well beyond his years. However, learning from the Tryamkin experience, it would have been good to add a buddy imho.
  12. So he basically traded Schmidt and $345,000 in cap space for a 3rd and Hamonic, Poolman, and Schenn. This certainly fits our needs better than Schmidt did. Not spectacular, but we have serious RHD depth now.
  13. Should be a very competitive camp. Myers, Hamonic, Poolman, Schenn, Keeper, Woo, Bowey, Burroughs will be fighting for RHD spots in Van and Abby. Also Kelowna Rockets well represented Schenn, Myers, Bowey, and now Stephens. Go Rockets!
  14. If everything we are hearing comes true, we have filled out the Canucks and Abbotsford. We don't need Edler. I hope he gets a good contract somewhere. If he does come back for cheap, I don't know how we find minutes for OJ and Rathbone? We have added 4 RHD to the organization today to go with Myers, Bowey, and Woo. Myers Hamonic Poolman Bowey Woo Keeper Burroughs LHD OEL Hughes OJ Rathbone Brisebois I could see a couple of LHD being added for Abby, but it is hard to see where Edler fits.
  15. I am happy that JB didn't go overboard and didn't even use up the Schmidt money to sign 2 solid NHL RHD. Both will make us better than we were 2 hours ago. I will reserve judgement on Poolman, don't know enough about him, but he's a Canuck now so Go Poolman Go!
  16. It seems like they said to their 2 goalies that it was their defense that made them good and we could go get any 2 goalies so they did.
  17. I get it from both sides. I just don't think he leads you to a cup. Tyson Barrie scores lots of points too.
  18. He is not a Hedman, Weber, Pietrangelo type. He is a very good player, will make them better, but is not the all around rock wins you a Cup. IMHO this is an overpayment and Hamilton is just chasing money, not wins.
  19. Class act, good on faceoffs, good in the room, good add. Garland, Dickinson, Podz, Sutter to 4th line. So far so good JB
  20. His age and the length are threal problems, not the hit.
  21. Too much. I think Sutter is a great guy and a good hockey player, but i would only want him back for a very team friendly deal like Spezza's in TO
  22. I am assuming JB cleared cap space for a reason, but the rumours so far are for very inexpensive players. Hunt, Schenn, Halak, and are pretty underwhelming. Will be interested to see who his bigger targets are.
