  1. I haven't seen him play in 2 years now, but I don't think he is better than Edler, Tanev, or Hutton at this point. Let's remember that Philip Larsen was the best defenseman in the KHL and was the worst on our team. That league is not 1 small step below the NHL it is 2 or 3 giant leaps. Nigel Dawes leads his team in scoring and, sadly, the league. Very difficult to determine where he would fit in.
  2. I think Woo will be an NHLer and a good one, but I don't think he will have a shot with the big club next year. If he was 6 months away from NHL ready he would definitely be on Team Canada right now, especially with his coach as the coach. I do think he is going to be great but I think he will be in Moose Jaw again next year.
  3. I live in Kelowna and saw Lind first hand on many occasions. He looked eons ahead of most of those around him. He has the size, skating and vision to be a very good prospect but the beginning of his Utica experience hasn't been great. I think he will start to come around and by next year we will start to see him as a call up. He was the best Rocket forward I have seen after Benn and Draisatl(for only 5 months). They produce a lot of top defensemen, but their forwards haven't seen much success.
  4. Indeed. Points at a WJHC don't always mean anything. Just ask Cody Hodgson!
  5. Gaudette's Freshman year he had 30 pts in 41 games. Madden has 15 pts in 14 games so far. I don't think he needs to step it up, just keep doing what he is doing.
  6. Classy kid, great 3rd round pick. I think we may have found a gem. The great thing is that all of our prospects can't make it but having so much more quality on the farm and in the system will produce a much better product ultimately as the best will play with better players along the way and the cream will rise to the top.
  7. Twins were amazing players who were also winners. They played in an era where there were never 5 goals scored in a game. They would have had more points in different eras. I do believe Elias has the potential to be better, but it is not necessary to knock 2 of the greatest all time Canucks to make the point. The twins vision was like Elias' but his skating and natural abilities look to be a bit ahead of theirs. The Sedins did amazing things with the (lack of) natural gifts they had.
  8. I would be shocked if Dale Hunter said that to some random guy about a player he won a memorial cup with. This sounds like complete BS. I'll go with real quotes from real people.
  9. He seems to be sticking it to Tim Hunter and Josh Brook for not making the preliminary roster. 6 pts in 3 games since the announcement I think. Showing he belongs.
  10. I think Woo is just getting going offensively. He will finish the season above a ppg and will be looked at as a lock for team Canada next year. I think for now thanks a bit to his injury, he is a little overshadowed by his teammate Josh Brook who is 2nd in the W in defenseman scoring and is a year older. Woo's time will come and he will be somewhere between Bieksa and Niklas Kronwall for years to come in the NHL.
  11. I think it is time to acknowledge that Bo Horvat is a 1st line center and to name him captain. He and Elias will be like Kesler and Sedin maybe better. He is 16th among centers in scoring while being by far our top faceoff guy and checking opponent's top line
  12. Petersson is the 3rd line center? He is 19th in the league in pts per game among centers in his rookie season and 1st on NOrth American ice. And he's behind Gaudette?
  13. Fair enough but if Wise was so much better than Madden he would probably be given better minutes. I still enjoy the comparison
  14. Jake Wise, who many preferred over Madden, has 2 pts in 10 games for BU.
  15. Agreed, I am not sure where all this negativity toward Lind is coming from. Size, speed, skill, attitude. He has it all. He just needs to put it together in the AHL and then bring it to Van. I will be suprised if he is not one of the best Utica players by next year.
  16. I see it, and I think it's great, I just want it to be growing and growing, not just because of injuries. He is 4th on the team in scoring, 4th in hits, and 20th in playing time. I just hope Green doesn't cut back every time Jake makes a mistake.
  17. Jake has earned more playing time, plain and simple. He could be a key player for us for years to come, but they have to continue building him up by giving him more time.
  18. It doesn't mean nothing. It is all we have to go on and our guy wins by a long shot. This is a good thing.
  19. Rathbone and Woo, imho, will be Canucks. 2-3 years they will both be pushing for a spot. I would rank them ahead of Brisebois, Sautner, McEneny but behind Hughes and OJ.
  20. Some stats I like: Peterson is 2nd in the NHL in ppg for Centers, (3rd overall), right behind Evgeni Malkin and right ahead of McDavid, Bergeron, MacKinnon Peterson is tied for 11th in +/- among centres Peterson is 12th overall in scoring among centres despite missing 6 games His faceoff % is 48.3% just behind Tavares (48.5), McDavid (48.6), Draisaitl (45.5) and ahead of RNH, MacKinnon, Eichel, Kuznetsov I point out these stats because everybody was talking about whether he could play center in this league and he is already and elite one in, pretty much every way. Nolan Patrick, Cody Glass, Casey Middelstat, Gabe Vilardi say hi. Peterson also scored as many points last night as Svechnikov has in 13 games this season. People were suggesting he was the next best shot at Rookie of the year. The thing I am most excited about with EP is that it is all his vision that makes this possible. Those are the the truly special players that you can't keep down. He sees and thinks the game ahead of almost everybody else. The opposition can't take that away because they don't see what he sees.
  21. He is not as fast as Bure but has a similar electricity and dynamism. Also has Naslund's wrist shot and Henrik's vision and soft hands. I know I am going a bit far but in 2 years he will be stronger, better and more skilled, he is going to be amazing
  22. After the initial cluster f@#$ of starting Jake at 18 in the nhl. Benning and Green regrouped and started building him from the foundation. At this point it is looking like they know what they're doing.
  23. I was looking on flashscore and they didn't list him on Yugra's roster or Omsk. But I now looked on Yugra's own site and he is listed. He hasn't played lately though. From what I can tell, the VHL is the KHL's AHL. This does not bode well for him as a prospect. He is a year older than Manukyan and Manukyan is playing on the second line in the KHL. Zhukenov is now dead to me!
