  1. We need a big haul for Miller. Needs to be a current RHD, a center or d prospect and a 1st rd pick. We then need to sign 1 of Copp, Trochek, or Domi for some of Miller's money. We need to draft center and d prospects.
  2. We can't take anyone who's issue is skating. It is a skating league. Anyone we take in any round should be a strong skater with speed. We shouldn't be gambling that they can figure it out.
  3. I am struck by how erratic all of the different mocks have been. I can't remember so much variance in past drafts. I am not sure if this says it is a weak or a strong draft. I am sure it will be a surprising draft and, like every draft, it will take at least 3 years to see who wins and loses.
  4. It seems to me that we need Center and Defense prospects. Defense are hard to get. Centers can become great wingers, but wingers typically cannot become great centers. There is not a lot of consensus in this draft after the first 7-8. Therefore, I think, unless some incredible, Top 8 talented winger drops to us, we should focus on Defense and Center and take the best player available, as per the scouting staff.
  5. This would still be a questionable deal if we didn't retain salary.
  6. I corrected it 5 minutes later and you're the 5th person to roast me, I get it.
  7. This guy is mocking our brass for not signing someone like Levtchi who will be 27 this year and this was the first year he scored more than a point per game. In perspective, Lukas Jasek scored a point per game in that league in his 1 year there. I'm all for mocking the brass when needed, but give them some time and look at the whole off-season before judging.
  8. Boeser is a year younger and has averaged .79 points per game in more games. He is one of the top 15 RW in the league. Tuch has a .56 points per game. If you think Tuch is worth more than Boeser, you are watching a different sport than me.
  9. Good point I rushed it a bit. I got too excited about Copp and Tuch. I guess we have to trade one of Pearson or Hoglander, whichever brings the best pick or dman in return. Miller EP Podz Kuzmenko Horvat Garland Pearson/Hoglander Copp Tuch Highmore Jasek Lammikko Lockwood Hughes Manson OEL Myers Dermott Schenn
  10. Great, now dump Dickinson and convince Jasek to come back. Sign Lamikko, Highmore and Lockwood for 2.7 mil total. Then trade Boeser to Buffalo for Tuch and Florida's 1st (save 2.75 mil). If I am not mistaken, we now have 10.5m + 2.75 + Ferland 3.5 - whatever savings come from dumping Dickinson - 2.7 for 4th liners. That gives us 13m+ to work with sign Andrew Copp and Josh Manson. Miller EP Podz Pearson Horvat Garland Hoglander Copp Tuch Highmore Jasek Lammikko Lockwood Hughes Manson OEL Myers Dermott Schenn Go Canucks Go!
  11. I really hope Garland stays, he is all energy and all heart. We need guys like him. However, if he is the best guy to go for a really good return that makes the team better, so be it. Go Canucks Go!
  12. At that price, this is a great add. Now lets see him contribute before we gift him a spot in the top 6.
  13. Boeser (7.5) to Buffalo for Tuch (4.75) and Florida's 1st.
  14. I hope Kuzmenko chooses the Canucks, he could be a solid contributor. I think it is important to keep in perspective the league he is coming from. Kuzmenko had 1.18 pts per game Goldobin had .93 pts per game Granlund .93 pts per game Jensen .92 pts per game These are 3 players that couldn't stick with the Canucks when we really sucked. This was Kuzmenko's best season by far in the KHL. In his 2 previous seasons he had .65 and .67 pts per game.
  15. Mike Hoffman played 1 less game and had 1 more point. He makes 4.5. JVR had 4 more points in 14 more games and his hit is 7mil. Tanner is paid exactly right for what he brings and they should only trade him if the return actually makes us better. Losing him on an off the ice will be a blow.
  16. I don't think Pearson gets enough respect. He works hard, is a 200 foot player and can fill in on most lines. Also a class act and a good teammate. If it's a good trade, take it, but for me he is not a cap dump.
  17. I think the focus as always is to pick the best talent available and not draft by position. If your team is stacked with talent you can trade to fill holes.
  18. Geekie and McGroarty are both said to have skating as an issue. In general we should avoid guys with skating issues. Reading about Miroshnochenko, he might be a great long term buddy for Podz.
  19. This is way worse that the little bump on Gaudreau earlier in the series, but that was called. The NHL refs are so inconsistent, it is ridiculous.
  20. My expectations for Linus are low, but hopeful. I think he is a well rounded forward with good skill. I think his ceiling is solid middle six contributor. Would be great for the franchise.
  21. As a fan, I feel as confident in him as I have in any defenseman that I have watched since becoming a fan in 1983. I don't think OEL gets nearly enough credit for his play. I don't think it is an accident that Hughes had a huge bounceback when OEL joined the team.
  22. To be clear, I think Crouse would be a good addition. I think he is a solid 3rd line player. He is not a top 6 forward. He scored 20 goals this year, including 7 on the pp which he would not be on if he weren't a Coyote. He is a solid player and is improving incrementally. He reminds me of Taylor Pyatt. In fact if you look at their numbers they are remarkably similar.
  23. Imo Myers was really good this year. The teams' defense wasn't the problem. We would be solidly in the playoffs if EP, Horvat, and Boeser got scoring of the bat, particularly EP. If he was going, we would have 6-8 more wins and we would be easily in the playoffs. Our markets' fans just love trades for the sake of trades and are incredibly pessimistic. Based on the games under Boudreau, we are not that far off.
  24. Lawson Crouse, 24, big, not particularly tough and has 110 pts in his first 346 games. Those are nowhere near top 6 pt totals. Brock Boeser, 25, has 254 pts in his first 321 games. That's more like it. If you think that Graves is a landslide better than OEL or Luke Shenn on the defensive side, look again. I understand that 7.5 is too much for Boeser at this point. He probably should be traded if a better deal cannot be reached. But to throw in Myers, Rathbone and Hoglander and only get those two is a very bad deal for the Canucks.
