  1. The Canucks were like a dog on a bone tonight. Almost everyone had a great game, especially the 2nd and 4th lines. Very entertaining game
  2. But he's on pace for a 20 goal season and had 40+ pts in his rookie season with Florida before injury. This guy if he keeps it up, make no mistake, will demand a massive salary boost. He's getting paid bottom dollar but is playing like a top 4 forward right now on a playoff team. That isn't cheap. Btw check out the best 'numbers for the money' on capgeek: http://capgeek.com/bargain-hunter/ note who's on top there. Not bad.
  3. Wow, this was a bad one. Honestly, watching Thornton after the game in that interview, I think he genuinely felt bad and knew he went too far. He saw his teammates falling like flies and saw red. It was like the Todd Bertuzzi incident.... we'll see how the league handles that
  4. So why exactly is everyone saying Santorelli is "nice but will be replaced"? Last I checked, he's top of the team in +- and is putting up Kesler offence on a 550k deal. But hey, if a prospect or core player can match that value, sweet! Meanwhile, in the real world, unless he sucks for the rest of the year, we're more valuable than any of our other grinders so far.
  5. .911 save % is reasonable for how badly the team has been doing lately. I don't think you know hockey
  6. I think it's too early (I'd hold off until 24ish or so before declaring that). However, I don't feel he's been consistent or good enough defensively to earn a roster spot on this team. I'd rather they use someone like Archibald. Or if he's coming off injury, give Schroeder another shot. He needs to work on making smart plays very badly, and I think a stint in the AHL would be better than making dumb plays for us at the NHL level.
  7. Tied for first in +- on the team and just 1pt behind Kesler's production so far. So yes, we should be re-signing this guy. He's an absolute bargain right now.
  8. THE CANUCKS DONT GET PUSHED AROUND THIS SEASON. Nice job Sestito
  9. Wow, I never thought I'd be saying this, but David Booth is doing great this game!
  10. Thanks for the highlights last night Makaveli I missed the game. Looking forward to this one, this will be a real test for the Canucks.
  11. I think Neely8 is correct. I don't think you know anything about hockey.
  12. Oh dear lord. I have a poor man's standard definition TV still since I watch TV mostly on my computer (except hockey), but man, I saw Gallagher in HD one time at my friend's.... and I have to agree with you there. That dude is horrifying when you can actually see him in detail.
  13. "Well OK.... well well I THINK.... BRAINS. Yeah, I could see it.
  14. I don't have a link but he basically said: - "We sucked" - "We didn't give the panthers any respect" - "We were sluggish and took a step back from previous games" - "They have work to do after tonight's bad game" - "If it wasn't for Luongo it could have been 3-0 in the first"
  15. Last free agency I was touting Paranteau pretty hard as a 2nd wing play maker for Kesler, but nobody else seemed to agree. Man, we could use someone like that right now... but I guess the signing just wasn't there
  16. Wow and I was expecting the Canucks to come out and dominate against a bottom feeder team after losing a bunch of games they could have easily won but let get away from them... And then this happened. Disappointing to say the least, and Torterella was right, if it wasn't for Luongo at a couple key times, we wouldn't have even gotten a point.
  17. They sure are. It's the "what have you done for me lately?" John Garrett always jokes about. It's really how some fans act though. I'm with you though, I'd much rather criticize Burrows at the end of the season than after a slump coming off injury. And besides, Burrows is a complete player and scoring points is only one of the 1000 things he does for the Canucks on the ice. Even if he's not scoring 30+ goals, the Canucks are a way, way better hockey team when he's in the lineup.
  18. Nah bro, I think your arguments are solid. I feel the same way, and I'd love to see the Sedins back at 5mil (it might be a bit higher, we'll see)
  19. Meh, fair weather fans claiming we should trade the Sedins? Talk about amusing. MAYBE you can make the argument they don't deserve the same pay since their production had dropped off the last couple years, but seriously, we're talking the Sedins. Most teams would kill to have these pros skate for them. I'm glad they're on our team.
  20. Elite goaltenders don't lose their starting position. Period.
  21. I have mixed feelings on this hire, but yeah, throwing Tortorella under the bus before he's even coached one game for us seems pretty ridiculous.
