  1. With any other goalie, that would've been an OT goal, valiant effort by Price.
  2. Maybe it's just me but it looks like the Habs are making it worse for Price by trying to help him, Price needs to see the puck and teammates standing infront of him isn't helping. You and I know the refs aren't going to give Montreal powerplays, Boston has been getting away with way too many dirty moves, I said it before, the NHL isn't going to let a Canadian team dominate.
  3. Price is cool as ice, and PK is a beast tonight. I'm waiting to see what happens with PK and Marchand later in the series, I think Boston sent the wrong goon to bug PK.
  4. This turned into a great series, the last game was a lot of fun to watch, I knew Minnesota would rally back to tie the game up and somehow score in the OT. Now if Bryzgalov can stop falling down all the fricking time everytime he leaves the crease, they might go far.
  5. At this point, no not yet, however IF Montreal makes it to the finals then Bettman or whoever is responsible will put jackass referees on the ice to make it hard for Montreal, mark my words.
  6. Why does Cooke still play? Players like these should be long gone, if you want an enforcer you want players that can actually get physical with other players like Steve Ott or Rafi Torres, not dumb dirty players like Sean Avery and Matt Cooke.
  7. Amazing how Colorado went from worst team last year to almost getting the President's trophy this year. I'm wondering if they did it on purpose to get a first overall draft pick since MacKinnon is a very potential star player. And this year they have a boatload of young players and a rookie head coach, I wonder what's in it for this team for the next few years. But one thing Roy needs to keep in mind, he can't get too violent at a professional level, he's not on the ice anymore. I'm not counting out Colorado from making it to the SCF, I wonder what Bruins vs Avs would be like.
  8. Flyers in 5, like Coconut said... I'm going with my guts on this one and I'm not a Flyers fan.
  9. NHL playoff history repeats itself, 4th liners often has an impact during playoffs, Weise was no exception.
  10. Even this year's Red Wings is among the oldest age average in the NHL, they have more 30+ year olds than Vancouver does.
  11. The core isn't THAT old, the Sedins are 33 which is the prime age, Kesler is 29, etc. However the defense are growing weaker by the year dispite that Kesler and Bieksa are still 27 and 32 and needs to be adjusted. The rest of the team are incredibly young. I wouldn't mind a Bill Guerin type forward to go with the Sedins, another Ed Jovie or Keith Ballard in the defense, maybe bring back Rafi Torres since the team has basically no toughness at all, and of course a veteran goaltender for Lack to lean on for another year or two. Right now there's practically no depth anywhere.
  12. Doubt Lucic would bite on a trade to Vancouver, his recent visits back home has been atrocious- getting sucker punched numerous times downtown and having things thrown at him. He openly said that he doesn't like Vancouver anymore.
  13. I like the options, but knowing how things go they'll probably just go with Jay Feaster...
  14. I've gone to a few Flames games this season, not a single name I recognized besides Cammmalleri and O'Brien (but he was injured?). I can't believe the moves that were made like giving away Seabrook and Comeau... Anyhow, I hope it's just a stupid rumor that it will be Feaster, he's not a good choice for a GM.
  15. Whoa, so they actually went through with it. Stan Smyl or Bernie Nicolls for GM.
  16. To really show just how many empty seats there were... boy were there ever.
  17. I've been living in Calgary long enough to know the deal with the team, they were decent in 2009-10 but Sutter insisted on throwing away key players (Jokenin and Cammalleri) and then trying to fix his mistakes by getting them back, that didn't work so he's gone. The owners hung onto Sutter far too long and I'm seeing the same thing happening with Gillis. So now the Flames are rebuilding from scratch, Squid is the only familiar name on the team I know of now
  18. As harsh as it sounds, I share wallstreetamigo's view, I was born & raised in Vancouver and grew up watching the Canucks since the late 70's and attended their 82 SCF games but missed the 94 ones because I was in Missisauga. I lived in Windsor, Winnipeg, Missisauga, Hamilton and Calgary and I've been to games in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary and also Buffalo and Minnesota. the fanbase has changed quite a bit in Vancouver in the past 10 years and I said in another post that I don't understand why and I do think the fans are too harsh to the team, Minnesota is the only other group of fans I can compare Vancouver's fans to (they're pretty nasty to their Vikings team too) but man even when Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton are doing poorly, the fans are there to have fun. I do remember Edmonton causing a riot on Whyte ave. when Gretzky was traded to the Kings, I'd blow my lid too. CDC isn't the only place you'll see atrocious comments about the Canucks, you'll hear them at games and pubs too, there's a reason why Calgary fans hate Canucks fans with a passion and rivalry isn't exactly the reason.
  19. It's come to the point that pretty much all of the Canadian hockey teams are fairly weak right now compared to the rest of the league, Montreal is the only best chance to making it to the SCF and Montreal aren't the team they were a couple years ago. I'm hoping Toronto and perhaps Winnipeg can grab a playoff spot though unlikely for Winnipeg.
  20. Most of those players named aren't even in the Canucks system anymore, but is Shirokov still there?
  21. Penguins went young and big back in the early 2000's and ended up drafting 2 of the finest hockey players we see today (Sydney and Geno) but they also put in some veterans in the mix to balance it out (Guerin and Hal Gill), which led to Stanley Cup appearances. And then look at Calgary, no big names besides Cammalleri, they won't be going anywhere for a long time.
  22. Lu actually admitted to the media at the end of the season 2 years ago that he regreted the bogus contract that he agreed to, now Vancouver has to pay a part of his salary until 2022(?) even when he plays for another team.
  23. Oh I was expecting the Rangers in the "mediocre" section, it's almost never a poorly operated team, but I guess perhaps this year. Calgary has gone through some changes, I'm GLAD they got rid of Daryl Sutter after all those years and I'm seeing the same thing with the Canucks, the owners are hanging onto the GM far too long. Winnipeg has been winning "important" games lately, looks like they got eyes on a playoff spot, I'm interested in this and will be watching them if they do make the playoffs, Byfuglien is my man. When Atlanta had their Thrashers, their crowd capacity was often at less than half, they didn't really deserve a hockey team, Atlanta is more interested in their Hawks basketball team. Anyhow, onto the top teams, San Jose has been a really solid team for years, that one year where they only had 12 loses in a full season, holy cow.
