    Maybe because our coach almost took us to the 3rd round last year (aka overachieved)... Which btw would (most likely) never of happened - if ownership listened to fans. You were all calling for his head early last season too. Would we of made that run if we listened to the emotional fan base and fired Green? And how long until you turn on the new hire? This year has sucked but I don't think it's solely because of coaching. And I believe cleaning house could have unintended negative consequences, if we make the wrong hire. Might as well enjoy the ride! Who said the road to the top would be a straight line? We're gonna have some adversity but I believe that this core has enough character and skill to bounce back and bring us to the promised land. GCG

    Sometimes to get to the top, it isn't always a straight trajectory upwards - it can be a rollercoaster before we finally 'click' and become a contender. Our young and strong core had a great experience last post season, playing meaningful games and winning playoffs series. They know that feeling - they want it more than anything, and I'm not concerned they will bounce back. As for the management of the team, in my opinion why stress about it when it is completely out of our control. This could all be a blessing in disguise if we end up drafting a STUD because of our poor season... Could you imagine if we get Luke Hughes? Go Canucks Go.

    The guy gets better every single game. Incredible to watch. And we are truly blessed to see 3 straight calder finalists, and now it's looking like 4. My prediction he finishes somewhere in the top 3 in scoring, and top 3 in Calder voting. Will we keep this Calder nomination/win streak going with Podkolzin next year?

    Season opener and also McDavid's birthday ... he's gonna be flying out there and extra fired up. We prevent him from playing his game and we have a pretty good chance at winning obviously.. Whatever the case Im just fired up to see some Canucks hockey again! GCG!

    I don't know about you guys.. but I'm giddy as heck about this teams core right now. We have depth - everywhere, and most of it was home-grown. I don't understand how there is still such a large vocal group of negative nellies in the media and twitter etc. I guess there's always going to be someone out there that's not satisfied.

    We better savour every season we have of this player.. I strongly believe he will finish being known as one of Sweden's all-time greats, and a HOF'er. Here's hoping that his entire career is with the blue and green (quinn and brock and bo too please)

    Also of note, Juolevi was 9th in points in that (pretty stacked) 2016 tourney. The 'BUST BUST BUST' crowd easily forgot about that fact. Back to Podkolzin, he will be fine. I think it will only make him want to get out of Russia more. Put him with actual skilled NHL players, and watch what happens.

    Yup. Had a long winded argument with one, they were still on about the Vanek trade and that Motte wasn't enough At this point you have to be blind, or not watching at all, to deny what the guy brings to the team and why we traded for him.

    I'd say getting a RHD in the 7th round that ends up making the Swedish WJ team - and is committed to Kamloops in the WHL - is already a big win for us. Makes up a bit for the fact we didn't have a pick until Jurmo. Can't wait to get a good look at this player and our other prospects at the WJ in a couple weeks

    Wasn't even referring to him specifically, but the fact that he's the first thing that comes to your mind when I post that should tell you something lol He is a slow starter, and until he proves us differently, he will be labeled as such.

    With Hoglander having 20 games of playing time against men, I see him having a much higher chance of making the roster this Jan. then he would of if the world was normal and the season started late September. Especially if a couple guys show up a bit out of shape or sluggish, Hog will give management a tough decision - great problem for us to have.
