  1. And the nerve of Toews's dad coming out and lobbying for Horvat to be captain... disgusting. Doesn't he know the captain goes to the most skilled player, every time?
  2. i almost made a twitter just to flame this guy, but twitter is such a garbage platform its not worth it.... also Demko looks really good
  3. That's awesome. I know Toews is Horvat's favorite player so it must be nice for him to hear that. Had a good laugh at the 'crushing burgers' comment too, lol.
  4. thanks for posting as I dont have the twitter... looks like i know what im doing this weekend lol
  5. Nah sorry but you're wrong. The captaincy across the league doesn't just go to the best player on the team, every time. It goes to the player showing leadership, that can handle the added pressure and media questions, etc. I would rather Elias and Brock and Quinn not have to deal with that kind of thing, let them play hockey. Plus the letters on the jersey don't really matter all that much to these players, slapping a A or a C doesnt just automatically make you a leader in the locker room, its already established. Pettersson wouldn't sign for cheaper if he was told he would get the C, LOL.
  6. ... probably the first game at rogers arena, so that hank can hand over the C...?
  7. wow his neck was thicker than Fred and Bob's, combined haha
  8. Even though I was born after the 94 run, and only started really being a fan around 2009, it still gave me chills. Very well done. Proud to be a fan for the rest of my life
  9. remember when everyone was freaking out that Boeser might not sign with us.. or Demko.. or Gaudette.. or pretty much every NCAA prospect we've had ever.. pepper-ridge farm remembers
  10. He was recently on Goldobin's instagram live, saying that he wants to come back & that he is just waiting on a new contract
  11. that one goal was absolute filth.. looks like both Hog and Pod could have had alot of points with some puck luck
  12. Lol, yeah lets give him the Lebron treatment.. he plays while also being the assistant coach, so there's no way he can complain about his deployment or minutes.. might be on to something here
  13. And i agree with that for the most part.. but most of his (vocal) doubters unfortunately don't really pay attention, the fair-weather fans that just go along with everything TSN 1040 or the rest of media is spewing but still consider themselves 'h-core fans bro' These goofs that promote the idea of him being a bust need to see him in a top 4 role, in the NHL before they even consider they were wrong all these years, there are a lot of vocal fans of this team that aren't really fans at all - i will never understand the point of criticizing and thinking negatively of your favorite team's prospects, we should always be optimistic and if it doesn't work out, that player is a human that also didn't have their dreams fully realized, we need to be more empathetic towards these players... sorry not talking to you directly kind of went on a rant lool
  14. I have a similar feeling.. This is the season he proves all the doubters wrong...
  15. Thanks for sharing that. The clips of how he breaks the puck out and how fast he can come back to break up opportunities got me really excited. Cant wait to get this season started!!!
  16. They should of started this rebuild years ago, when they could of gotten 1st round picks for these guys... another decade without playoffs i guess
  17. Miller >>>>> 1st,3rd, Mazanec, Nyquist Nyquist would not of worked on this team at all imo
  18. Figured id post the part about the Canucks for anyone that doesn't want to go on NHL.com (lol) Vancouver Canucks Vancouver hung around the playoff race for a while last season before fading down the stretch and missing out for the fourth consecutive season. Offense was again an issue for the Canucks, who were tied for 25th in goals per game last season (2.67) and rank last in the NHL (2.44) over the past four seasons. However, the Canucks have a bright future with elite center Elias Pettersson, who led all rookies with 66 points (28 goals, 38 assists) and won the Calder Trophy last season despite being limited to 71 games because of injury. Center Bo Horvat took a big step forward on a separate line from Pettersson last season, scoring an NHL career-high 61 points (27 goals, 34 assists) and leading the League with 2,018 face-off attempts (won 53.7 percent). Right wing Brock Boeser was also limited by injury but had 56 points (26 goals, 30 assists) in 69 games. This offseason, the Canucks acquired forward J.T. Miller (from Tampa Bay Lightning on June 22), who had 47 points (13 goals, 34 assists), 20 on the power play, in 75 games in mostly a third-line role last season. Miller scored at least 22 goals in each of the prior three seasons and will likely play with either Pettersson or Horvat at even strength. Vancouver also signed wing Micheal Ferland on July 10; he has had consecutive seasons of at least 40 points and provided strong hits coverage (182 in 71 games) for the Carolina Hurricanes last season. The Canucks defense should also be improved after they signed Tyler Myers (31 points; nine goals, 22 assists with Winnipeg Jets last season) and Jordie Benn on July 1, and Vancouver will have rookie Quinn Hughes, the No. 7 pick in the 2018 NHL Draft who had three assists in five games, for a full season. If sleeper goalie Jacob Markstrom can perform like he did in his final 40 games (20-14-6, .921 SV%), Vancouver could claim a wild card or possibly even sneak into the top three of the Pacific Division.
  19. The asking price would probably start with Boeser... That being said in this hypothetical scenario where we went after a RFA, Zach Werenski McAvoy, or Provorov would be way better pickups, Laine is probably at the bottom of those high profile RFA's for me

  21. The past couple years our PP has been pretty easy to put together, but now we have a lot of options for not only our top PP unit but our secondary one as well.. Personally I could see something like this: PP1: Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat, Hughes, Myers PP2: Ferland, Miller, Baerstchi, Edler, Stecher?? This leaves a few options on the roster like: Pearson, Virtanen, Leivo, Sutter, Motte, Goldy What do you think they are going to be on opening night?
  22. I agree. I think 7-8m for a longer term would be better. The cap rises 1-3M every year and by the 4th or 5th year, 7 or 8m for Boeser will look like a steal. I just hope BB and EP are together for the next 8+ years
