  1. The Canucks don't have to trade Q. Hughes, they must be wowed by NJ if they want to market 3 brothers. NJ can fit Q. Hughes under their salary cap for next season. The assets coming back have to be: 23 1st Nemec Mercer maybe a 24/25 2nd/conditional 24/25 1st
  2. Now make this thread 50 posts/page instead of 20 posts/page.
  3. The Devils are loaded on the right side now with Hamilton, Marino, and Nemec. Walsh has no path to the NHL now with the Devils.
  4. Trade #1 Assuming JT signs a 6-7 year extension with them as the Islanders are all in. Islanders Receive: Miller Canucks Receive: Wahlstrom Raty 23 1st It doesn't solve the D corp issue, but it's a package that management is looking for. Canucks get a young faster Boeser replacement. I know the Wings are loaded, but this allows for a hockey trade at some point with Boeser/Garland for a RHD. Trade #2 Devils Receive: Hoglander Canucks Receive: Walsh Canucks get a good young RHD who is ready to play in the NHL. There is a logjam at Wing with no spots for Hoglander. Devils get a good middle 6 F.
  5. Go to the 20 minute mark. What about this trade assuming JT signs a 6-7 year extension with them as the Islanders are all in? Islanders Receive: Miller 50% retained Canucks Receive: Wahlstrom Raty 23 1st It doesn't solve the D corp issue, but it's a package that management is looking for. Canucks get a young faster Boeser replacement. I know the Wings are loaded, but this allows for a hockey trade at some point with Boeser/Garland for a RHD.
  6. The good thing is that everyone is signed for the upcoming season while other teams still need to sign their RFAs, but need to make room to do it. Retaining salary is a must for trades in the current climate, but hope none is retained for the 23-24 season unless it's around $1M. Like you said there are a lot of quality bargain UFAs out there right now too just waiting to be signed.
  7. I think Nyquist has to come back to make cap room to sign Laine which complicates things. Would rather have Peake than Bean too.
  8. I like those moves. I also really like Lassi Thomson too.
  9. I think there are 2 in season trade options for Miller before the trade deadline. 1. A contending team has an injury to a star/huge support player and need a replacement. Also I don't want and wish for any player to be injured. 2. Teams that made a lot of moves in the offseason with big aspirations have a terrible start to the season and need to shake it up.
  10. I did like that JR said that they're trying to gain picks, assets, & younger players.
  11. I've been on the team mini rebuild train this whole offseason, but it seems like management has found it way tougher than they anticipated in regards to free up cap space. Other teams do not want our crap contracts (Dickinson, Poolman, Pearson, OEL, & Myers) unless money is retained & with draft picks added. As Alf said, do you think Aqua will let management be sellers at the trade deadline if they're in playoff contention? That is the reason I think they're going all in this year looking at the current landscape of other teams in the division right now with the 3rd Pacific division playoff spot up in the air.
  12. I've come to grips with the team going all in this year with Miller leaving at the end of the year after the playoffs. Then the team can start their mini rebuild in the 23 offseason.
  13. That honestly would be the best for the organization going forward. Management found out that their overhaul of the roster is going to take longer & harder than was they expected. Biggest needs are to get the bad contracts of the books and rebuilding the prospect pool.
  14. Yeah it sucks! Hopefully Management can load up on draft capital at the trade deadline. Only way they're getting rid of some contracts and possibly retaining money too.
