  1. Yep but I would still take the risk by selecting Ovi.
  2. Quinn is not getting done for 3 x 5. Hughes' agent could just use the Gudbransson extension against Benning.
  3. But Price is a Vezina winning, Olympic gold medal winner. And he was still pretty good last season and provides stability in goal for the next few years
  4. I actually do not like meat on my Pizza since it over powers the flavors of the sauce tomatoes and pesto and cheese for me
  5. 8+ million is Crosby money so I wont probably go that high. But the 7 million range makes sense to me
  6. Isn't Price exposed though? Why would Seattle take Holby when they can have Price ?
  7. I'd hate to be a Debbie downer but I am seeing a pattern here Dickinson is not that good in Faceoffs - conclusion Faceoffs are not that important Canucks pick Virtanen over Nylander or Ehlera - "it's not all about goal scoring"
  8. Yeah but didn't PIT want Vegas to take him? I feel like the Habs are playing a very dangerous game here. Or maybe they realize they would rather get rid of Price's cap hit
  9. I would .. Seattle will need to attract fans to the games and you so that with big names like Carey Price
  10. I'm still on the camp that Seattle picks Ovi and try to offer him a monster deal
  11. Yeah he can motivate players by telling them to work hard and one day they can sign massive 6 x 6 contracts and phone it in and absolutely nothing afterwards
  12. If he gets what he is asking for doesn't that mean this will be Boeser's asking price too ?
  13. I think overall let's look at the players Canucks lost in the last 2 years and the non-core players who are still in the team Out (or likely to be out this off-season) Toffoli Markstrom Tanev Schmidt Edler Hamonic Sutter Still in the team Beagle Roussel Myers Pearson Eriksson I understand Cancuks aren't probably going to keep all the players the lost but I would rather have the players the Canucks lost than the ones still in the team supporting the young core (well except Sutter) Looking at that this is bad roster management on Benning's part
  14. Sorry this argument doesn't hold. He still put up points in the playoffs just because he wasn't effective in one round doesn't mean the Canucks should have let him walk. Also Toffoli was playing hurt in the finals so there's that to consider. Also no one is putting Toffoli in the pedastal but the Canucks need depth and good players with good contracts. I can not imagine anyone with a straight face saying they wouldn't want Toffoli in what he brings and the term and amount he sign for. We're not talking about a 7 year $6 million contract. It was team friendly and a great opportunity Vancouver squandered by "not having enough time"
  15. my guess is that McCann is going to cost a 2nd and another asset. I would laugh if Benning trades for McCann basically using a 1st (draft), 2nd (during the Gudbransson trade), and possibly another 2nd (from PIT) just to get McCann. That would be a summary of Benning's management and deal making "abilities"
  16. There's a saying that superstars do not make good coaches. Ray Ferraro was asked that before why Wayne Gretzky never transitioned as a good coach. His answer was superstars are so good they see a game at whole different level. So it's difficult to for someone who can read and see the game at an elite level try to coach players that are not
  17. 25 year old 0.7 PPG winger compared to Pearson's production
  18. Sure, but for Ovi I would take that risk. I mean there's still 29 other teams and Free Agency to build your roster from
  19. This doesn't give me any confidence and hope this off season https://www.sportsnet.ca/650/halford-brough-morning/july-15-hour-3-dhaliwal-drops-inside-knowledge-on-the-canucks/
  20. Well a little off topic but it depends on the players. Reports are saying Ovi is going to be unprotected. If I were Seattle I would take Ovi even if there's just a 1% chance he will sign with Seattle. At least it give Seattle a window to try and convince him to join the Kraken
  21. you should know by now being a optimistic and a Canucks fan isn't compatible. It's a scientific anomaly.
