  1. Numbers don't like though and his career numbers have been great. That said we will all find out by seeing The Wild's protection list
  2. I am going to guess Minny says no to that
  3. I think Podkolzin might be more of a wild card than a sure thing as people here are already predicting. His KHL numbers still worry me a bit
  4. I like this discussion Pettersson I agree, I think if we did a redraft I would rank him as #2 only behind Cale Makar Hughes - I say Top 5 though that could change as time goes by. Dahlin and Scechnikov are still the top 2 for me since I see Dahlin as possible Victor Hedman and Scechnikov could a player that Laine was supposed to be ( between an Ovi and Rick Nash). And Brady Tkachuk looks like the read deal while I expect some later rounder to emerge eventually. Horvat - I agree. It is quite strange how I thought some years ago Monahan was the best player of that draft class. Though that could change whether how much better Nurse improves since I have Horvat currently #5 behind MacKinnon, Barkov, Jones and Guentzel Demko - Hard to say since Goalies seem to fluctuate Boeser - I agree. I see him probably fighting for the 8th spot with Kyle Connor. I would put McDavid, Eichel, Rantanen, Marner, Barzal, Aho, and Chabot all ahead. Hoeglander - I will wait and see next season
  5. Minnesota is going to make Boesser as the starting conversation for Dumba. If we really want Dumba in a Canucks jersey it means letting go of Boeser So the question what player does the organization value more? Boeser or Dumba ?
  6. A lot of Vegas haters here ... may I ask the reason why? Was it because of last year series with The Canucks?
  7. Yeah I know this is still part of the rules and Tampa does have the depth to be able to pull off what they did. And yes I know other teams do this do (like the Cancuks) in a lesser extent but I can imagine the moment the Canucks do something to this extreme as the Bolts the NHL is going to find a way to penalize Vancouver and call this "the Canucks cap manipulation rule".
  8. We are at the same discussion years ago when the Bruins started to miss the playoffs and yet here they are still a very good competitive team. The one constant the team has is Marchand and Bergeron. As long as they are in the team, the Bruins can have a couple of down season but retool to become a Top team again. So to answer the question only when either Marchand or Bergeron retires.
  9. Well I just hope you didn't put any money on this Also rooting for the Habs but I know where reality starts and my heart stops
  10. I cant imagine people predicting the Habs over the Golden Knights. Sure the Habs had a good run but this is against the Golden Knights that embarrassed and humbled the Avs, who were the world beaters this postseason.
  11. I think I was referring more to the UFA market. Hoglander fills a slot in the Top 6 but Podkolzin isn't going to be a Top 6 guy all of a sudden. Even if he is Canucks still need a winger especially if the team is trying to build 3 scoring lines
  12. Not to bring up Toffoli here but I think after what he got for Habs, The Canucks need to find a deal comparable to that for a winger.
  13. I think MIN is better than Edmonton though. They would have easily been 2nd if they played in the North Division
  14. Same here but, to be honest, I am fine with any team winning. Boston being eliminated meant I could enjoy the rest playoffs without worrying about anything
  15. Perhaps it's because of their move to Barclays Center that hurt their fanbase. I would imagine representing Long Island they would have "small" but passionate fanbase
  16. I am convinced now that if Kucherov was healthy in the regular season the Bolts would have been a 100 point team So Bolts in 6
  17. Also if The Canucks were the president Trophy winners and made it to the 2nd round this season we wouldn't be complaining about Toffoli or any of Benning's moves.
  18. A little off topic but I do feel we are doing Toffoli a disservice by making this Toffli thing more about the player instead of talking about Benning's poor asset management leading to this moment. It's no secret that the reason why Benning couldn't bring Toffoli back was because of the cap constraints especially how he used the cap to sign the bottom 6 "Glue Guys" even though it wasn't a good idea at the time.. The best way to describe Benning in this that he is given $2000 to spend on his vacation for a period of time. He spends $1800 on bad deals on vacation trips to Manitoba, North Dakota, Indianapolis, and Delaware. Then all of a sudden there's a $350 for an all expense paid trip to Hawaii but because Benning overpaid on some terrible vacation spots he can't afford the trip to Hawaii.
  19. Pretty sure we know Benning is going to over compensate by overpaying for another Top 6 winger. It's the Benning thing to do
  20. Well the Stecher thing was a bit of a stretch (see what I did there) But Toffoli I can relate. Especially since Benning is probably going to try and acquired a Top 6 RW player again. Im actually scared that Benning might start going for Corey Perry for Sutter money
  21. There are people that are trying to convince themselves letting go for Toffoli was for the best. I am pretty sure they don't actually believe it but I just let them be. Its like when your buddy had a break up it's better not to argue with them if they are convinced the break up was a good thing.
