  1. In theory it would be if there is only one trading partner the return wont be that great
  2. I wonder of New Jersey gets Luke. Would it make Quinn request a trade to New Jersey ?
  3. I think if he played a full 82 game season the prior 2 years he would have hit 50 pts. As the the minus -18 I think these plus and minus is more reflective of the team than the player I am not saying Vancouver should do all they can to try and get him nor am I saying he would be a fit. But I think trying to trade for Jones is going to cost more
  4. Well the proposed term is CBJ will sign and trade. But as for Jones he's a near franchise 50 pt damn. So whatever the asking price is it's going to be very high
  5. Remember what it cost for Vancouver and Calgary to get Ballard and Hamonic respectively? And this is Seth Jones we are talking about ... There'sno way CBJ will ever agree to this
  6. McDavid, along with Draisaitl, carried his team to the playoffs and whatever happens in the postseason is irrelevant for these awards.
  7. With the exception of Folingo (since it did cost Toronto a lot to acquire him) I think the addition of the three vets during the free agency I thought was a good move. Almost a league minimum so it's low risk but the rewards are there, especially for Spezza. I actually don't mind the Canucks doing the same thing if they can sign some veterans for cheap and at a one year contract.
  8. I doubt either the Jets or the Habs will make it past the Avs in the 3rd round. The Avs are just world beaters this post season just look at MacKinnon's point totals in just 5 games At this rate he's going to surpass Wayne Gretzky's playoff record for most points in a signle post season
  9. Yeah Tyler Johnson would make perfect sense for Seattle and I am pretty sure it would be a win-win for both TBL and SEA if he is selected
  10. I am a little torn by this. I don't mind injecting some personality in the NHL but I feel like the NHL is more forcing or trying to hard to do so and it just doesn't feel natural. I do agree with Bieksa and Subban having a future in broadcast and adding them would add some personality but only when that time comes. I remember that period where I was watching the NBC broadcasts in the NHL, the analysts there tried hard to sensationalize every angle and every story that it became quite off putting.
  11. Yeah any hope for him becoming a thing is long gone at this point sadly. What a mistake of a pick even if Benning wanted a D-man Sergachev was also available
  12. that's a little self contradictory
  13. What if Benning can trade Myers I would sign Jones for the term and amount you mentioned I know we are all drooling for a Seth Jones + Quinn Hughes paring
  14. 4.25 million for 4 years for RNH and that should be Benning's final offer
  15. Yeah but I would preferred that their cup win would be at 2013 instead of 2011 The Universe really did try to conspire to give Tim Thomas super powers that one season
  16. Kind of Crazy if this was a regular 82 game season the Canes would have had 116 points and the Preds would have 93. Yet the Preds nearly pushed the Canes to the limit and 4 games went to OT
  17. honestly I think we just keep highlight a few like Alexander Semin but I really don't think the ratio is different from any other nationalities. Maybe it just feels that way because the league has fewer Russian players than Canadian or American ones. Or maybe the media has a way of vilifying Russians like how the media and some folks treated Ovi.
  18. how many bad apples are there? I seriously doubt the ratio is as big as you claim it to be.
  19. Is that even necessary ? If the player is good and the organization knows how to developer their prospects regardless of nationality I don't really see a need to another Russian player primarily because the organization have some Russian prospects in the system. Let's not forget these prospects are young and normally most have no problem adapting to another country. There's no need to coddle them into thinking they might feel lost playing in North America.
  20. I think you may be over rating some of the players I highlighted. Right now they seem to be projected bottom paring or 4th line depth players at best and no one from that list really stood out in the final stretch of the Canucks' season (well except Jasek since he didn't play last season with the main club).
  21. Plus I am under the impression Tryamkin didn't even like the city and some theorized that this whole coming back to Vancouver was just a negotiation tactic for his KHL contract.
  22. Ok fair enough on the Avs but let's say they started rebuilding 2011 when they drafted Landeskog. In 3 years they won their division and bounced in 7 games in the 1st round and took a 3 year dip before being on the rise again. People compare that year they won their division to the Canucks year in the bubble. Except it took the Avs 3 years to get to that point and Vancouver took 6. So whoever the GM is for the Avs whatever they are doing their have progressed a much faster pace than Vancouver
  23. Weren't the Avs the Central Division champs before Sakic took over ? If anything the rebuild or retool probably started right after
