  1. I still think Jake will end up a bust or, at least, be a marginal NHL'er People are comparing him to Torres but at least Torres was having good offensive numbers in the AHL around the same time Jake started his pro career. But if I am wrong then it's one of those instances where I am glad I am wrong. Unless of course Vancouver trades him only to realize his potential shortly after
  2. He also said Tkachuk is a special player and said he was surprised Canucks picked Olli over Tkachuk.
  3. He's going to do a Vesey on Vancouver isn't he?
  4. Schneider had Lungo's mentorship though. Who is going to mentor Demko?
  5. Maybe the felt after further evaluation he doesn't have much of a offensive upside?
  6. The whole "Power Forwards" take longer do develop is said a lot in these forums but I feel like even comparing Virtanen to his contemporaries his progress has been falling behind. If you look at the top NHL power forwards today Wayne Simmonds, Mark Stone , Milan Lucic. Chris Kreider, and Kyle Okposo and where Virtanen is you can tell Jake is way behind where he should be at. At least in the AHL level he should at least be at 0.5 PPG player.
  7. So many more years does he have before we can call him a bust? I mean I want him to succeed because the team needs him but it looks like, at best, he's going to be a Taylor Pyatt at this point.
  8. Boeser perhaps? Also I am hearing the radio interview with Bo Horvat and said he liked Mike Richards ... oh no
  9. Okposo would have been my most preferred choice of the FA last season. If Benning wasn't going to get Lucic i would have liked it if he went for Okposo. Who knows maybe he did but wasn't interested playing in Vancouver.
  10. I like the Invisible Six Million Dollar Man more Anyone know if there's a Loui Eriksson Canuck Highlight Video around?
  11. WWE need to protect Sheamus/Cesaro w/o The New Day dropping the Tag Titles. The WWE is just waiting for The New Day to break Demolitions record since Demolition is currently suing the WWE. So it's like when Orton broke Brock's record as the youngest World Champion, and Nikki Bella breaking AJ Lee's record.
  12. Here's the scenario which I think may play out. Survivor Series Sasha Banks wins the Women's Survivor Series bout for Team RAW. Ask one more chance for the Women's Title, Charlotte agrees and has a Title vs. Career Match (no rematch clause) at Roadblock for an Ironman Match. I was pissed that Sasha lost here. Their HIAC match was good enough it wasn't great but I would have been satisfied if Sasha gone over. What happened was Charlotte beating Sasha with her "TV" finisher that caught the crowd off guard. The HIAC PPV did prove that they need to remove gimmick PPV's now. None of the Hell in a Cell matches warranted being Hell in a Cell, the closest was Rollins/Owens but this was mostly because of the segment with Jericho but even that could have been done w/o the Cell.
  13. So Playing Franchise mode in NHL 17. Tanev's potential is an Elite D-Man, meaning Vancouver better keep Tanev no matter what.
  14. I was assuming part of Olli's game is his offensive upside as a Dman
  15. Could the same argument that Olli Juolevi played with the same team as Tkachuck as well?
  16. I hope so. The other thing that worried me is during the 2014 draft the analysts said his biggest weakness is creativity which I assume means his hockey IQ. Now correct me if I am wrong but isn't hockey IQ that characteristic that allows great junior players to become good NHL players? The other worry is if he was able to dominate the junior level because of his size but lacks the hockey IQ, it really reminds me of the reason why Cam Barker turned out to be bust. Of course that's a worst case scenario but I am sure there are other players that had similar strengths and deficiencies drafted early on but never lived up to their draft position.
  17. Well the Sedins and Perry were like 0.5 PPG in those early years Virtanen has 13 pts in 55 games and it's not like he was impressive in the world juniors either. That said he was called up earlier than those players so I'd give him one more season to pass judgment. If he can show improvement and contribute more offensively even if's not a big boost (maybe 30 pts in 82 games?) then promise will start showing.
  18. That's Ryan Miller x 2. Overpayment but hope it works out for at least 2/3 of the contract
  19. Horvat was also off the board. I think Central scouting had him like #15 But of course there's Patrick White or Nicklas Jensen (Saad was the next BPA).
  20. I don't think so http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/dallas-stars/stars/2016/06/27/stars-announce-qualifying-offers-nichushkin-oleksiak-lagace-stransky
  21. http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospectbrowse.htm?cat=1&sort=finalRank&year=2016 He's ranked 5th in NA Skaters.
  22. Tkachuk is almost 2 PPG player in the Juniors and shows he can play in the playoffs, Virtanen is a PPG and Boeser a little over a PPG. You can't get enough scoring especially at the insane production he has.
  23. If he's that good why was he ranked below Tkachuck and Alex Nylander? Both are wingers so if Juolevi is that good as a PMD wouldn't he have been ranked higher?
