Carmella right? To be honest I am not a big fan of Carmella. Though his kayfabe crush before (Mandy Rose) I did like too bad she is no longer in the WWE. I do find Dakota Kai very cute though.

Edit .. to me Filip Hronek is a let's see type thing. But, as Thomas Drance said when the trade happened, Hronek is a good player he will likely make the defense better. But will he make enough of an impact for the team to take the necessary steps forward? -

That's part of it isn't it? If let's say someone with the track record of Joe Sakic or Yzerman did something like this, we would say "oh he has a good track record" let's give him the benfit of the dobut, and this could work out. Allvin is a rookie GM leading an organization that seen so many moves fail. So the skepticism is warranted And I am not being negative ... not impressed is more neutral than anything -

I didn't bring Forsling up. To me it just that plain and simple all ... this was on Benning and I don't think he deserves any defense on the McCann and Forsling moves. It was a man being impatient and sacrificed the future of the team -

But what has the team done to earn positivity? If the Filip Hronek trade works out long term I will admit this was a good move just like how I admitted I was wrong about the Miller trade. This team hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt yet so any move should be looked with some skepticism. -

Forsling was starting to show qualities NHL D-Man at age 23 and 24. Bieksa was a 5th round and made it to the NHL around that age. Most D-Men drafted late tend to take that timeline to develop to an NHL'er. As for Forsling moving from Chicago to Carolina. Chicago traded Forsling for an NHL D-Man their playoff run so it's not like Chicago gave Forsling up for nothing . Carolina, looking at their roster that season, probably had no room for Forsling in the main roster and waived him to develop in the minors and happened to get claimed. So i don't think him going to two organziaitions had less to Chicago and Carolina incorrectly assessing Forsling than organizational circumstances and the moment. Benning was a complete mis-assessment as well as inpatience. Like if both Clendenning and Forsling had the same ceiling and skillset as how Benning saw it why would Chicago give up a more NHL ready player over a long term prospect considering Chicago, at the time, wasn't exactly thinking of the future. -

I mean this management group hasn't really done anything to impress me. What is wrong with that? It's not like I have up on them either. It's all about the results which have yet to come. -

Well important thing is we focus all our anger on Benning and leave McCann in peace As for Detroit, Canucks are slightly ahead just based on standings and recent results but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up surpassing The Canucks during the Petey/Hughes core years. I mean the GM is Yzerman who is a tactical genius in team building in drafting (in the later rounds) and developing and a master negotiator in contract signings. They loaded up in draft picks in this year's deep draft (especially the first 2 rounds). This year could be the Red Wings' franchise altering draft the same way 2017 turned to be for Dallas And their roster already has a PPG Center with term (Larkin), a near elite and potential franchise dman (Seider), and a top 6 promising winger (Raymond) and whatever prospects Yzerman accumulated the recent drafts. I think it's going to be depressing comparing the Canucks to the Red Wings in the next 3 to 5 years As for Benning I could say he was good in picking in the 1st round of the draft (that's basically it) he's what some might call a one dimensional GM . Since he's only good at one thing. Ironically enough Yzerman's weakness is that he's been historically bad in picking in the 1st round but makes it up basically everywhere else (trading, contract negotiations, later round picks and development) As for Allvin ... Who knows but I am going to be honest and I am not that impressed so far -

The mom was Bartkowski's but she didn't really say anything. All she said during an interview in TSN or Sportsnet was that she mentioned some "19-year old kid". But since she didn't mention any names there's no proof that was McCann. As for Attitude issues there are no reports saying McCann was a problem in the locker room and the only comment we could find is a personal experience from a former Canuck. But that doesn't mean he had locker room issues and, even if he did, he was 19 years old. Maturity takes time (same reason why we were all told to be patient with Virtanen). And I seriously doubt it was anything that needed him to be traded away (with a 2nd) for Gudbransson. The trade had nothing to do with McCann's, rumored, attitutde issues and more with Benning thinking Gubransson was was going to be the next Chris Pronger (I am exaggerating of course ) and, once again, miss evaluated both his players and the one he was acquiring since, apparentley, Gudbransson had really poor analytical numbers (and it's not like he was putting up any numbers as well). I guess if we are going to bring up the rumor mill (all else equal) there were reports that the Panthers GM at the time approached Benning if he was interested in Gudbransson before he was put in the trade block. So we can assume the Panthers organizaition at the time knew Benning was a easy mark to fleece because Benning could have waited for Gudbransson to be in the trade market to actually Gauge his value was in the league. Again this is just rumors (but I guess if we are using the McCann had attitude problems reports I get to use this to ) As for no one was complaining. I remember people discussing his analytical stats (not good) and this guy ( no pun intended)... As for Penguins exposing McCann. Reports at the time suggest Penguins origanization was pleased with McCann but if you look at the players the Pens protected in the Kraken expansion draft (it's a very good list) so someone had to be exposed and it just happened to be McCann. Why? Perhaps some of these players the Pens protected had NMC? or it could also be because McCann was up for an extension soon. In any event I seriously doubt him getting exposed had anything to do him but more of the team composition and simply just the way the draft Expansion rules worked. I seriously doubt attitude issues were a factor but Giordano, Gourde, and Eberle were all exposed and played in a pretty high level and taken by Seattle I doubt any of these guys had attitude issues. Not every team had such a lack of organization depth that they could afford to expose a Kole Lind Anyways I just wanted to write this because I am quite tired of our need to find a way to smear Jared McCann. I get it's a Canuck fanbase thing to do sometimes but this isn't very fair to him IMO. That we need to drag his name down just to make ourselves feel better of letting go of McCann I think I'd rather spend time discussing Benning rather than this. -

With all the L's Benning had during his time with Vancouver you almost have to feel sorry for him. It almost feels like if Benning had a 15 times to guess between heads or tails in a coin flip and he only got it right twice. It's comically sad actually. It's like McCann or Virtanen ... flip a coin ... Virtannen ... loss Forsling or Tryamkin ... flip a coin ... Tryamkin ... loss Tkachuck or Juolevi ... flip a coin ...Juolevi ... loss Baertschi or 2nd Round Pick ... flip a coin ... Beartschi ... loss -

Well the damage he left will be felt for a long time -
I mean it's not really a question of when rather identifying the starting point and what the team has done since then. So fair enough if you want to use the Leafs starting point in 2015. But by the 2016-2017 season, the team was already a regular playoff team. Petey was drafted 2017 so if we use that as a starting point, the last 5 years they only made one playoff performance. (To be honest that is quite scary).

To me no. The only fix the Canucks could do is getting rid of the bad contracts and manage it better. Increase Cap space doesn't help long term. it might fix some things internally but, because things don't exist in a vacuum, it also means other teams that manage their cap better (Hurricanes, Devils, Kraken, etc.) are able to use the extra space to be even better than Vancouver.

Regarding the bubble as I said we can acknowledge that these events did happen. Canucks making it to the 2nd round, Tampa winning the cup. But we also have to admit factors surrounding covid, the pause, and the bubble are things we couldn't use as a barometer going forward. And as folks from the Vancouver media mentioned, the bubble run was great but it also gave us a wrong picture of where the team was ( Due to factors within and outside the team). It doesn't take anything away from the team but the Bubble run was what it was. If you won't Horvat as the start of the teams core then you can't use Leafs drafting of Rielly as the beginning of their core. I mean it's called the core 4 because of Tavares, Matthew, Marner, and Nylander. Either the measurement starts with Horvat and Rielly joined the NHL main roster or when Hughes/Miller/Pettersson and Matthews/Marner/Nylander all joined the main roster. Either way it shows the Leafs' core proving to have more success than the Canucks' core. And I guess back to the point of my reply. How can we say the Canucks core has more passion and drive when they have done less ? Especially if you consider the reports of the teams country club atmosphere it doesn't really display passion or drive.

Canucks should have waited to move Dickinson. If Benning becomes GM of the Leafs, Canucks could have flipped him for a 1st round pick
