  1. It's a decent signing maybe 1 year more than what would have been ideal but I guess it lowers the cap hit.
  2. So from what I've been hearing in Sportsnet Cambell is being linked to the Oilers.
  3. Honestly in all of the Canucks players with expiring contracts. What Benning got for Edler in returns is like in his top 5 Tied with Hamhius, Ryan Miller, and Vrbata
  4. Oh don't get me wrong I love this Proposal section it amuses me like fan fiction or NHL GM mode with the absurdity of these proposal sections Still in real life Myers isn't going to fetch much especially with that cap.
  5. Yeah this won't happen. We need to stop pretending Myers as a tradeable asset has much value
  6. I think there were people here proposing Canucks sign Nichushkin in the UFA for 4 x 4. Sometime people here don't understand reality
  7. I thought the Hawks organization don't believe in tanking. Bowman (well he was GM at the time) said when they landed the 3rd overall in that pick for Kirby Dach that he believes teams shouldn't be tanking (which is why he was all for the draft lottery)
  8. Well we kind of did. Don't know if you remember but during 2010 to 2012 the excuse we were making here is the Canucks are still a very good team because the teams that eliminated the Canucks were all teams that won eventually won the cup
  9. Yeah but the first round exists usually are against teams that make it to the cup finals. So while I know people here like to trash the Leafs besides their exit against Columbus their first round match ups are against some very strong teams. Plus the team was 4th in the league last season, I'd say that's a very good position to be in.
  10. If we were in the Proposals & Armchair GM thread all we have to do is add Tyler Myers and this would be a done deal
  11. Surprised how he never really made it in the NHL considering he's supposed to have as much skill (if not more than McDavid).
  12. Would have been nice to advertise the match because you know wrestling promoters are supposed to promote a match to sell the show At least that's how I remember the Wrestling business works.
  13. He had to have been chosen so Canucks can use him as a trade chip. So it's like ok we will give you Elias Pettersson for something something. Other team says ok only to realize he got the other Pettersson.
  14. Guess Hawks are no longer the darlings of the NHL anymore
  15. Still though Miller might want to term even if he doesn't score 99 pts. Maybe something like 7 x 6.5. I would still not do that I still think he's tradable. But it's clear he's went to the "hottest" trade asset earlier last season to playing 3rd or 4th fiddle now with Kadri, Gaudreau, and the recently traded Debrincat
  16. I was watching that All or Nothing Documentary some time back and one of things discussed is that Dubas is a hockey guy but people seem to forget because his relative youth
  17. Every young kid dominates in Vancouver I mean look where Jack Hughes scored his first and GWG goal
  18. Nah Letang will retire before the contract end and Vancouver will be hit with the recapture penalty
  19. Tandem doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence wouldn't be surprised if it's the bottom half of the conference by opening season
  20. Honestly I thought Hughes would have been already chosen by the time it was Vancouver's turn to select. We really have to be thankful Montreal (of all teams) is the one that moved up in the draft that year, and as for Arizona ... well they are Arizona ). In which case I was hoping when I woke up (timezone differences) if the Canucks selected Dobson (thinking he might be gone before Canucks picked also). But I was h*** s*** when I woke up seeing Canucks picked Hughes and thought how the heck did that happen. Then I saw the drat results and said "oh Montreal" Regardless, It's quite amazing how all those defensemen in the year Canucks picked Hughes panned out in the long run. Dobson, Bouchard, and Boquist look like there are going to be good to great NHL defensemen. Super happy Canucks picked Hughes but I would have been contended with the rest. It's actually quite a reverse from the Petterson draft when the other centers in around that position Glass, Mittlestadt, and Vilardi all still feel iffy right now.
