[Proposal] Charlie McAvoy to Vancouver

I think we have to be realistic in how we asses the value of Canucks players and players from other teams. -
[Proposal] Charlie McAvoy to Vancouver

So a team with an aging core is going to trade away one of their younger elite d-men for two older players? Even if Boston isn't rebuilding, I don't see why Boston would do this. McAvoy would probably require minimum a package Buffalo got for Eichel. Think of something like Garland + Podkolzin (or let's say even Rathbone) + a 1st round pick + 2nd round pick and even then Boston will ask for more. -
[Rumour] Devils open to trading 2022 1st-round pick

I would say Demko. And that isn't even enough. I think we have to get realistic in the value of the 2nd overall is. Let's put it this way. If Vancouver landed the 2nd overall and the offer was what many here are proposing and Vancouver takes it. We would be saying Canucks got robbed. -

Neither would I. Which is why the 39 so pages here is pretty pointless if we are talking about Canucks making this deal -

I dunno Jersey isn't exactly in win now and Miller is almost 30 and has a year left in his contract. I seriously doubt Devils will give up a 2nd overall for him. Plus if the Market value for Miller is really a 2nd overall, then I'd rather sign him to an extension -

I am looking at it from the Devils perspective in what the Devils organization will see as fair. A 2nd has a high potential to be a superstar player for the team, So the only way the Devils will give up the 2nd is they know they have a player that is looking to be a Superstar in the making. -

I think 2nd is fair value for Hughes + 15. Jersey might need to add a little something (maybe a #5 and #4 dman or an additional later round pick). But I can't see Horvat + Dickinson + 15th doing it neither do I see a 15th + Miller or Garland being enough as well. -

lol Jersey will never agree to that. You know New Jersey will be asking for Quinn Hughes + 15th to trade their 2nd to Vancouver. -
How far are we from being a playoff contender?
iinatcc replied to PetterssonOrPeterson's topic in Canucks Talk
Well no Johnson's and McDonaugh's numbers are similar to that of OEL and have a slightly lower cap hit. Johnson's contract expires soon, McDonaugh's might not age well but Tampa's good cap management has lead to that not being a factor for the time being. Nurse's contract is on the high side. But apparently he has been playing hurt this series so there's that. Plus let's admit it to our homer selves (that's for most of us). If Nurse was a Canuck and OEL was an Oiler. We would be saying Nurse is young and will improve and would laugh at the Oilers if they had the OEL contract. For OEL he's fine for now but the term is what has people worrying in addition to the draft picks Vancouver gave to acquire him. -

Next season it Canucks keep Miller, it's possible. But after that once current contracts require extensions (Horvat, Miller, Pettersson and not to mention Podkolzin or Hoglander) then I am not so sure. At this trajectory... -

Never been. But from the concept of the Arizona one, just felt a bit stale. Though I guess to be fair most newly developed areas are. -

Place looks boring. I actually hate how new developments these days have to make everything super modern. It's all style no personality. -
