[PGT] San Jose Sharks at Vancouver Canucks | Apr. 09, 2022

These are basically .500 numbers by all accounts they are quite feasibly and the chance only Canucks have (if let's say they can manage to lose only 1 game ) is if these teams Cannibalize each other but looking at the games they don't play against each other each team has the following "easy wins" LA - 5 games Vegas - 4 games Dallas - 5 games so those basically put those teams into .500 numbers. I think the most optimistic in me is that Vancouver could finish with 92 to 94 pts. Which is a miracle on it's own but not enough to make the playoffs. Which makes it even more bitter sweet because there's going to be a case of "If Only" the end of the season. Like if only those "moral victories" under green were actual victories or if only Vancouver just converted half of their OT losses into wins. Point is, yes it's good the team is playing good now but I think it's too late to have probably chance at the playoffs. We can just hope the team can bounce back next season. -
I blame LE for that ... he had a GWG in that crazy end of the season run Canucks had My concern with Podkolzin is that even in the KHL level his numbers aren't anything great and he was playing in, what I understand, is one of the better teams. It doesn't seem likely that a Russian player that comes from the KHL with 3rd line numbers is going to end up anything higher in the NHL.

If Canucks don't lose anymore games they will get 98 pts. I think this is one of those seasons where the team needs at least that number of pts to make the playoffs. It doesn't seem possible at this point. -
True but it's still pretty gross that it's still considered "one of the greatest Oscar moments" heck the link is from the Academy youtube page. I guess it's too late to really ban Adrien Brody (it's not like he's doing much outside Wes Anderson's films anyways) but the academy should at least remove this video and also condemn this moment (if they haven't already)

Apparentyl they don't start on time so .... -
So off topic ... I was listening to Canucks central and they did some interesting numbers on LE. And his Even Strength number per 60 apparently is pretty decent and with 17 pts in 62 games. Would anyone be here be open to sign LE in the offseason at a league minimum? He could slot in with Highmore and Lammikko

Kind of makes sense neither Allvin nor Rutherford picked Boudreau and Boudreau probably has more options now after a good win loss record he did in Vancouver. To be honest Boudreau is starting to look a bit deflated sometimes so maybe he would like to try other options especially when coaching positions open up after the season ends

Conclusion trade Hughes

yeah on that note I did watch "The Last Dance" in Netflix and the scrutiny Michael Jordan got was brutal. Can't imagine it being tamer than what Matthews gets in Toronto. -

Tax is one thing but two points also apply to other sports. Let's say if an NBA players wants to play for the Lakers or if a Baseball player wants to play for the Yankees. Heck playing for the Lakers probably gives you even more scrutiny than most Canadian hockey markets. Plus I'd imagine the Taxes in California is quite comparable to Canada. -

I question the math a bit. So Canucks has a better chance than the Knights to get the wild card spot when the Knights still have a 6 point lead over Vancouver? -

I often wondered why hockey players would rather play in markets where the respective NHL is a secondary or even tertiary sports team in that market. These players, especially the star players, get paid pro-athlete money but don't want the pressure associated with it. It's a big contrast from the NBA where star players big market teams like the Lakers where the pressure from both fans and the media is on the players to perform I kind of wish NHL players were like that and not shy away from the scrutiny that comes with being a pro athlete. It's almost like a chest code NHL players can take advantage of -

I slightly disagree. Even if the first 25 games played out much better the season and considering the team is capped out, at best this team looks to be an above average bubble team. Even Rutherford said something similar. The team needs either a massive retool or flat out rebuild. I agree on building whatever core around Demko, Petey, and Hughes but I can see team having much success keeping the other players around. As I mentioned before Canucks are in a cycle of death due to mis managed cap for half a decade now. I think the only way to break this cycle is to recoup players like Miller, Boeser, Horvat, Pearson and even Garland and maybe OEL for assets. Use the assets to build the team right around the 3 players you mentioned -

Not writing him off. He could be a good player but Zegras is looks to be a star.
