  1. So firstly I was kind of half joking in my original post. The fact that Benning did something this offseason means he should be commended But to respond ... Can't compare Saros to Demko ... saros is roughly the same age as Demko and has more playoff experience and put up elite numbers in Nashville. Demko is good and has potential but he's Saros is a better goalie at this point of their careers. That remains to be seen but as it looks now Saros' deal is much better than Demko's considering what both have accomplished so far.
  2. Yeah going to war guns blazing sure did a lot do good in the long run huh ?
  3. In the end this is a failure of 4 administrations so I am not saying Biden isn't responsible. But the one I'm replying to calling Biden weak but it was Trump that started this makes no sense. That said pulling out of Afghanistan was something most Americans wanted, I don't think anyone wanted to stay any longer. America made a mess and are just running away from it. And this includes the 88% of Americans that supported the war in the first place and now just want to backup their bags and leave.
  4. Except that it was Trump that started the process of pulling the troops out
  5. Finger pointing is useless at this point because America in general is responsible for this. And I am not just talking about Republicans or Democrats, I mean the 88% fof Americans that supported the war in 2001. They didn't learn to history and now are facing the consequences of being humiliated in the Global stage and, worst of all, the lives lost and will be lost because of this.
  6. Just some things on this Majority of Americans supported the withdrawal (much like majority of American supported the war in 2001). This is probably the few bi-partisan agenda Americans can agree on from 2001 to today Honestly I don't think he believed it himself when he said that but I feel like America in general was pretty much "f*** it let's just get out of here" mindset.
  7. I picked the Sedins. While not my personal pick I have a soft spot for players who begin and end their career (or at least the peak of it) in one franchise. This is the same reason why when people debate Lebron or MJ. My vote goes to MJ (despite not playing in Chicago for all of his career)
  8. This is a bit surprised for me. I guess it's no secret that Kane has had locker room issues in the past. But I always said if there was a team he should be able to jive with it's with a team with a strong veteran leadership core like the Sharks. And from what I heard in his early time with San Jose he seems to like it there and the team seems to like him
  9. Bad drafting or good drafting A cup at 2011 and two finals appearance I guess the Bruins organization and fans has this to say ... If Canucks won the cup in 2011 we would be saying the same thing even with how bad the drafting was
  10. Well no one then. But at the very least if there is a spread that does occur changes are the danger of the spread was greatly reduced by the vaccine. But still regardless the people refusing to take the vaccine are in no way part of the solution.
  11. You probably aren't going to prevent Covid from spreading fully ... ever. The point of vaccination is to mitigate the spreading and also preventing hospitalization even if you are infected
  12. Germany is doing it in a semi-sneaky way. Since you either need a vaccination, proof of recovery, or 24 hour negative test to do most things (go to the gym, eat indoors, go to a movie, indoor bar, etc) the government is planning to get rid of free testing (unless there's a reason like health risks for taking a vaccine). That way you need to pay every time you need to get a test. So if you plan to watch a movie you either need to have proof of vaccination or recovery. Or pay over 20 euros to get tested
  13. 40 pts in 54 games in a bad team. I think there's more than hype with Reinhart
  14. I think we are still in the wait and see approach. As of now Benning did a lot this offseason but the question whether the moves were good remains to be seen. While most of the comments in this board have been relatively positive, the folks outside the Vancouver media has been more mixed. Sports in the analysts like Steve Dangle is not as enthusiastic
  15. I was actually referring to people in this board in general not you specifically
  16. Its funny how last year we were saying nothing but great things about Hughes with some saying he's better than Makar. Now it's time to resign an extension and some here even says he isn't as good as Darnell Nurse. Yeah, generally speaking, we're quite awful with our players
  17. Yeah but he sit like what Nylander and that didn't do the Leafs any good even once he returned that season. If Quinn sits until right before the deadline Canucks aren't getting Quinn in his full form next season
  18. I think that clip of the Softball charity event is when I got the bad taste in my mouth. You can't help but feel it would have been an uncomfortable situation if Schmidt was still a Canuck this season, because it does seem like brought no passion as Canuck while leaving his "heart" and "enthusiasm" in Vegas. I mean, I get it's he's only human. But seeing that I felt like it was best to move on from Schmidt. He was never going give his 100% as a Canuck.
  19. The only offensive punch he did for the Canucks is taking a hit on the team's cap space
