There's a lot of people at Canuck games too that are like that. They think they're part of the entertainment. It's like going to s comedy club and there's that one guy who doesn't understand what a rhetorical question is. Those people get on my nerves pretty quickly. Edit: pretty sure he'd get the boot. He would if it was my building. -

He reached over the wall and interfered with Jose on a fair ball so the runner was safe at 2nd. The next batter homered. He even jawed at Joet too. Shyte eating grin too. -

See what I mean about EE going on a tear? -
No, he wasn't. I'm not sure where you got that from.

2/3 from the Yanks, A's, and Yanks in each series would change the landscape entirely. -

Since July 26th but not including today, Goins is hitting 8 for 30 (.267) with 5BB and 7SO, and no Es. That would give him an OBP of .371. Including his start today, so far 1 for 2 with 2BBs, that would put him at .281 BA and .410 OBP since Travis went down. -

Adding Price helps the whole staff. He will go deep in most games saving the pen so they can stretch it out. Over a full season Price, Dickey and Buehrle can get close to 700 IP. We only have a month until expanded rosters so we should be able to spot use the pen better than requiring they all go a full inning when they get called. Loup, for example, was always better when facing one or two batters. Cecil to an extent too. It also means we can use our RH more efficiently. If the BO keeps scoring 5+ runs a game, and gobbling up on D, then our pitching staff is definitely adequate. -

Fair enough but look at the positives. Price is a true Ace LHer. Then we also have inning eater LH Buerlhe whose tempo helps the whole club. Dickey can screw with a teams timing and he can win on any night. On the nights he has been off the team has the potential to score runs to get back in it. Hitch has been better than his era and Estrada has done everything asked of a #5 starter. In a 5 game series I like our odds and the different looks we can give. -

True but, even so, we know we can have a starting lineup with all of Travis, CC and EE to begin a game. That should let us jump out to leads most matchups. Then we can can sub Smoak and Goins in a tight ballgame from the 7th inning on and be better in the field without taking a major hit to the lineup. With the way this team scores runs that doesn't even need to happen often. It's the same reason I'm less concerned with the closer role than I'd normally be. There won't be that many opportunities. -

Yeah, Rup. I agree. That's what I was saying the other day...it actually surprised me when I stopped and looked at it. We know the offense is championship calibre. The rotation is greatly improved by adding Price. The bullpen s stronger. But what's amazing is that the D suddenly became championship caliber too. The outfield is rock solid and the infield is amazing defensively right now. Adding Marrin, Donaldson and TT is stunningly different than in recent years past. Smoak is no Gold Glover but he's good. Add in the fact hat a few of our starters are great defensively and we are a tough team to play. The improved D should save us a lot of runs down the stretch. -

There are 13 head to head matchups left. If the Jays can go 8-5 or 9-4 it's a new season especially if they can sweep Minny now. The Jays can be the ones to MAKE the Yankees falter. -

The bullpen isn't that bad now actually, IMO. It has it's elements. Sure we have a couple of leftys in Loup and Cecil that have been consistent in years past but less this year. I still think they can both finish strongly. We nabbed a couple of cagey vets in Hawkins and Lowe. Two young hard throwers in Sanchez and Osuna, and two more in Schultz and Hendricks that have found ways to contribute. It's only a month until we can bring back Delabar, Tepera and, maybe Stroman and others so this group has the tools to get it done. They will be helped if the rotation is better. Now a grouping of Price, Dickey and Buerlhe should be able to eat up innings. Th biggest question of that is how Osuna will fare as a closer. However, combined with how good this D and batting order it is, while the pitching simply has to produce better than it has in the first 100, our bullpen only has to be slightly above average if the rest is clicking. This team has enough pieces to do it. '92-93 did but so did '87 and '91. It's a matter of them executing as a group. I genuinely believe there is legitimate reason to excited about this roster. -

Would anyone be surprised if EE went on one of his tears? Not necessarily the 16 HR 33 RBI May he had back in 2012 but enough to raise his BA to the .265 range. He's certainly capable of a 8-10 HR month with 25 RBIs. That would go a long way if everyone else can just maintain their pace. This line-up, if healthy, is certainly in the 92-93 quality range. -

Taking 3 of 4 from Minny would be a great step in a the right direction. The thing that I'm impressed with in the new line up, aside from the offense, is how improved the team D is now. Simply getting Revere and TT shored up a lot of the questions for me. The outfield is as solid as it has been in years and the infield is actually amazing. Goins is doing a great job as a utility player filling in for Travis. And when he goes back to the bench there will be no easy out in the entire batting order. If Price can win his starts, or give us a chance to win each game, then the bullpen is already better. Plus, there is only a month until the expanded rosters when Tepera, Delabar, and hopefully Stroman can all come in. -

I'm not slamming Jose but it's a culture change clearly. Bringing in guys like TT, Martin and Donaldson is a an obvious sign that Bautista isn't expected to be the only leader in the clubhouse, if at all. Yes, he still gets on base but he's far from untouchable now. -

Despite what a lot of the pundits say, I think there is a good chance he re-signs. The Jays can offer him as much as any team with Dickey and Buerlhe off of the books. The Jays will still be able to put together a decent rotation behind him in Hutch, Stroman, Sanchez and Estrada. They have some relief pitching but it could be better. They could turn Baistista into another good pitcher or two, or recoup youth. Same with EE. An offense built around Tulo, Travis, Martin and Donaldson will be still above average. There is depth there now as well. -

This isn't Bautista's team anymore. It's now the Josh and Troy show. Wouldn't be surprised if he's dealt in the offseason. -

I agree. Suzuki is one of the best hitters of all time. He's up there with Cobb and Ruth. -
