  1. Don't worry about it. It's not worth responding to him. FWIW, I'm on exactly the same page. I prefer Nylander as the best player outside of the top ranked 5 but am content that Canucks will likely choose Ritchie. Both are excellent prospects, as is Ehlers, Kapanen, Virtanen, Perlini, Fleury, et al who may be drafted there. In the end we all are more likely to have more misses than hits, especially when factoring later picked players, but it is a drawn out process. With regards to Junior A, part of the factor is that there are less positions to be drafted from those leagues every year, usually 6-12 per league at most. It was always a long shot. Even with regards to junior, I always recommend players use their educational credits for these reasons. / Also, apparently your hockey card goes for $2.50 on the web. But then again so does AJ Nelson's.
  2. You won't believe this because you lack perspective but I know of three ex NHL players who use this site, one of which uses his own name as his username, as well as half a dozen high profile members of the media. Just because you have no associations in those circles doesn't mean no one else does. You've already demonstrated to me to have an inaptitude toward reading comprehension and, as such, your opinion is found wanting.
  3. Are you just daft? It's quite obvious that he is saying who he is. He's always been a very consistent poster in both his content and perspective. His knowledge, experience and wisdom are clearly vastly superior to your own. ForsbergTheGreat's reputation is not in question here, in my mind. You are making yourself look foolish.
  4. 1 Simon Gamache Val-d'Or 184 2 Marc-Andre Thinel Victoriaville 150 3 Dominic Forget Shawinigan 141 4 Yanick Lehoux Baie-Comeau 135 5 Brandon Reid Val-d'Or 126 6 Radim Vrbata Shawinigan 120 7 Antoine Vermette Victoriaville 119 8 Sebastien Thinel Victoriaville 118 9 Stephane Veilleux Val-d'Or 115 10 Jason Pominville Shawinigan 113 11 Marco Charpentier Baie-Comeau 112 12 Wes Scanzano Rouyn-Noranda 110 13 Eric Fortier Val d'Or 107 14 Patrick Yetman Moncton 101 15 Marc-Andre Bergeron Shawinigan 101 16 Ales Hemsky Hull 100 Hemsky was the 16th leading scorer. He was the highest drafted Q position player at 13th regardless. The next highest drafted position player was Jason Pominville at 55th who outscored him. This should underscore why looking at points is not sufficient to get the full picture. I would note that he was the best player on his team in a season dominated in the scoring by Val d'Or, Shawinigan and Victoriaville. There was a larger imbalance in the league scoring in those days.
  5. I still can't figure out why it's in Canucks Talk. Baffling.
  6. I believe that comparison originates with me. Granted, Ehlers has a better shot and not quite the playmaking of Hemsky but I find the style reminiscent. It was never intended to be a direct projection but was simply my own personal view from watching the games played. That doesn't make it a negative assessment, as a Hemsky type producer would be a good addition, but a caution against top players drafted from one league not having the same effect at the NHL level that they did in junior.
  7. I often feel as if you are one of the very few who truly gets it. Carry on, good sir. +1.
  8. Actually, it would be enforced in exactly the same way Tampering would be enforced. And your spelling of ludacris is ludicrous.
  9. So your suggestion to have better drafting results is to have zero scouts in Europe? Awesome. sauce.
  10. Jonathan Toews was about 6'1.5" and 185 lbs when drafted. About the same as Reinhart.
  11. My brother had twins a couple of years ago. I've heard stories.
  12. It's weird. This the first time I've ever been on the outside looking in. I'm more interested in GM matchups than roster matchups.
  13. Would be concerned that Benning would keep Snepts around because he's an old buddy? That might be one pitfall of Benning. FTR, I don't. I believe he can make tough decisions but it'll be a question that'll be raised.
  14. You know why the sky is blue? Because if it was green you wouldn't know when to stop mowing your lawn.
  15. I believe that there was a similar situation with Don Maloney when he went to Phoenix from the Rangers, due mostly to the timing. I've had several conversations with Burke over the last few years and he's a great guy. Very intelligent, very funny, and very blue collar. He's a typical New Englander. I don't think he'd want the job though. Not his area of expertise. He would be a great Director of Amateur Scouting though.
  16. I would think that Joe Wil would be more likely than Tim Burke.
  17. As a long time user of the Off Topic forum I had to take a moment to appreciate the significance of this post. That's quite the accomplishment for him.
  18. It stems from needing to be angry about things you can't control. Grammar and indignant rage are incompatible.
  19. I really think some CDCers should pick another team. They're incapable of liking this one.
  20. I think he hasn't hit rock bottom yet. Amazing as that sounds. He still hasn't reached a point where he realizes he isn't in control of his life.
  21. Oh of course. I'm the worst golfer on the planet.
  22. Pearson with the assist to OTTS.
