  1. Yes. You don't let your customers dictate executive decisions. No other successful business does that.
  2. The more I think about it the more I want Rick Dudley to take over the team. His drafting record with the Sens, Panthers and Thrashers was good. His trades have also been good.
  3. He inherited that team from Rick Dudley, who would be a good candidate. Feaster didn't build that team or augment well. He oversaw the demise of that team. His drafting is awful. His trades are awful. His FA signings are awful.
  4. Exactly. MG wasn't perfect by any stretch but we could see over the last couple of seasons that he was intent on building a young stable of players for the future. A new GM is going to be inclined to simply augment the roster in the worst way to keep their head afloat. This hiring is going to be one of the most important turning points in Canucks history. The ownership better get it right.
  5. I think Botterill wouldn't be a terrible choice but not as good as Jim Nill last year. A Feaster/Torts combo could be a disaster. The coach who is stuck in the past with little strategy and the lackey GM with one of the worst drafting, signing and trading records of the last 15 years.
  6. If Feaster is being brought in then it's for exactly that same reason, for the ownership to hold sway. He won a Cup? Didn't he inherit that core? Isn't that one of the main criticisms of MG? Feaster didn't build that Cup winning team our even augment it well. He was the one to dismantle it though.
  7. Seriously, Feaster has been one of the worst GMs in the NHL over the last 15 years, next to Don Waddell. If people thought that MG's record for drafting, trading and signings were bad then they'd be shocked to see Feaster's record.
  8. This would be the worst possible scenario.
  9. I'm far from delusional. The timing is poor if the ownership doesn't have a replacement who is a definite upgrade. I'm skeptical about that point. This doesn't seem like a planned move. This seems reactionary and more aligned to ticket sales than hockey operations. I'm seriously concerned about the owners of this team right now.. They are a larger potential problem than MG ever was.
  10. I have never been calling for his head. Your description of MG more closely resembles yourself IMHO.
  11. It depends if the ownership has a solid plan or are being reactionary. I believe it's the latter. If they hire Bob Nicholson I'll recant. If they hire Feaster I'll weep.
  12. Agreed. Usually when a GM is fired a new one is appointed within days. If the ownership don't have one already lined up then that's terrible.
  13. Don't celebrate until you know who the replacement is. If it's Feaster then we just took a step back.
  14. Wow. Just reported by the Canucks too. This is a mistake.
  15. Well... John Gibson with a SO in his first NHL game, when I didn't call him up, and he eliminates the Canucks. Conflicted to say the least.
  16. Change the theme to IP board (bottom Left) and they go away.
  17. Not very. I might win an award or two myself. I'm kind of indifferent on the subject.
  18. As far as I can see, Carolina got around 45 points and Pittsburgh really struggled. If I made up 70 points of about 150 then that's big. I'm especially proud that only 8 points came from PIMs. That's the Isles way.
  19. Huge night for the Isles in trying to make up ground in the battle for the last playoff spot in the East. Rask - W = 10 Bergeron - A, +2, 2pim = 9 Hamilton - +2 = 4 Kuznetsov - G - 3 Halischuk - 2pim = 2 Seguin - GWG, A, +2 = 12 Tinordi - 2A, +1 = 12 Franzen - 2PPA = 8 Smith - +1, 2pim = 4 Edler - PPG, A, +1 = 13 Hutton - SO = 20 Cullen - A, +2 = 7 Wilson - A, +1 = 5 Jarnkrok - A, +1, 2pim = 7 116 points by my count.That's going to make the last couple of weeks interesting. Nothing for Garrison, Clifford, Bertuzzi, Bennett, and Schenn or it could have been even bigger.
  20. LTIR: The Florida Panthers place F Jonathan Toews on the LTIR retroactive to April 3, 2014.
  21. LTIR: The Anaheim Ducks place D Mike Kostka on the LTIR retroactive to April 2, 2014.
  22. What he's known for? Does that mean you're disregarding what he actually said in this interview? Because of the reputation you believe overrides his answers today? What would make you satisfied for him to say? He admitted to culpability.
  23. What is the difference, in your mind, between providing explanations and not taking blame? Can MG be both contrite and forthcoming? It appears to me that you paint him into a corner whereby he can't win. Unless he says "I'm the worst GM in the league," then you cannot be satisfied. I think he says as much, in a frank manner, as any GM would normally comment on with regards to delicate topics. Of course his message was strategic. That's called being intelligent and calculated. Would prefer it was not those things?
