  1. Even when we had the likes of Pouliot and MDZ back there we didnt get worked for minutes on end in the d zone. They just hand them the perimeter and collapse into a 5 man box.
  2. so if you get to keep one to build your team around you will pick marky over hughes? i wrote that as a poem coz i know you like that
  3. Hughes is our best player, he generates so much from back there
  4. talk about frustrating guys missing the net ep whiffing on shots
  5. Honestly, I wasnt aware of the guy until someone in here pointed him out a few weeks ago. Why is he no ryan Reaves? Reaves has 10 points this year in twice as many games? I agree that he will be healthy scratched off and on, but dont you think there is any merritt to having a player like that on your bench when you play a team like Anaheim or Washington who just like to run you through the rink? Why does Las Vegas bother having Reaves in the lineup? They had him dressed throughout the playoffs....he had like 2 points in 21 regular season games for them in that year they did well in the playoffs
  6. I saw highlights from a game he played vs Washington and he had Wilson on the run....seemingly wanted nothing to do with him....
  7. This is not just another forward - kid can probably challenge Ryan Reaves for toughest guy in the league. He would probably come relativelycheap and you dress him when you have to. A much better option than Simmonds who would cost us a better prospect.
  8. I wish we could get a guy like that. Hes pretty scary and probably wouldnt cost nearly as much as Simmonds.
  9. im sure he will get some dirty looks from the bench too....the guy that holds the towels looks pretty tough. Seriously speaking now.... Guys like Foligno could have a field day running around against a roster like ours. In some ways it might be beneficial if he does...it will be like another big red flag they see just a few days before the trade deadline. They need to address this big hole in the roster. I just hope they dont throw young assets at getting Simmonds. He is sub 190lbs, has a hard time keeping up, and probably doesnt scare any Foligno type player anymore.
  10. "A physical Altercation" - as Bernie Pascal used to say.
  11. well i was thinking that opera anthem singer will hit him with his cumberbund
  12. What they gonna do if that douche Foligno decides to run around again.....
  13. one point in his last 7 games....including lots of time on the top iine in BBs absence. neutralize you say? Jake is a solid player, hes not a top line winger though. Not at this point.
  14. dont disagree.... hes taken a big step forward this year and he could give us 3 really effective lines with different strong points...
  15. If thats the case then, they could have just kept Jake on the top line and not spent all the assets to get a replacement for Brock. Im not trying to take away from Jake here, im just trying to infer what management is thinking. They dont think that Jake is suited for that top line. Stawns seems to think he is a play driver an a superior option to Brock...if that was the case I dont see this trade happening.
  16. dont agree. look at the last few games. hes been invisible. If BB was as ineffective as you think he is, and Jake was the superior option, no way in hell does the GM cough up Madden and a second to replace Brock when the supposed viable option -Jake- is sitting right under his nose. They viewed the loss of BB as a major impact otherwise this trade never happens.
  17. I think that Jake brings some good elements to the team, but I just dont think he can provide what Brock does to the top line. This trade is proof. If they thought Jake was a viable option they wouldnt have coughed up all those assets to get a replacement for Brock. Sure enough ...this morning Toffoli is practicing with Miller and EP...Jake is back down to the third line. Would have been easy enough to pair Toffoli with his old buddy Pearson and Bo, and keep Jake on the first wouldnt it?
  18. so @stawns regarding our discussion Brock vs Jake. Turns out that this move was meant to replace BB. With toffoli practicing on the first line instead of Jake, will that be enough info for us to think that management doesnt trust Jake enough in the top 6 yet?
  19. I suspect that they kept the real seriousness of BBs injury quiet so that it didnt give the other teams leverage when they were trying to look for options to replace him.
