  1. Tied for second in the NCAA. Two of his team mates are ahead of him. Dylan Sikura plays on his line, hes a 6th round hawk draft pick, but hes one year older than Gaudette. From the game I saw tonight Gaudette looks like the bigger of the two and as the center he was doing a lot of the dirty work. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/stats/overall.php Edit: the above link is a great site for all of the stats, you can even follow the links to listen to games live.
  2. I think he is up to 36 points (13g,23a) in 24 games. Stats for that league are tricky to find (for me they are at least) I found this site for individual game stats http://www.sidearmstats.com/lowell/mhockey/ This site for team and individual player stats http://gonu.com/cumestats.aspx?path=mhockey&year=2016
  3. He was all over the ice, announcers were loving him. Now if only Utica can match the third period comeback!
  4. Sikura scores from a beautiful setup from Gaudette with 16 seconds left. thats the third goal for that line in the third period. They were down 3-1 now they are up 4-3. Gaudette in on 2 of the 3 goals in the third. Gaudette beat out the d man on an icing and made a beautiful pass to Sikura who scored with less than 16 seconds to go. Announcer stating that Gaudette was the most prominent NU forward of the game. NU Wins 4-3!
  5. NU was down 3-1 in the third. Now tied 3-3 , Gaudette with an assist on the tying goal. Sikura, who plays on a line with Gaudette, gets both goals in the third. Sikura is a 6th round hawks draft pick. Less than 5 minutes to go.
  6. UML is playing NU on TSN2 right now (Friday Jan 27th) where you can watch Gaudette play.
  7. No problem Goose! sometimes I dont think Bo gets enough recognition. During that playoff series vs the Flames a couple years ago he was the best young player on the ice, yet all we heard about was 18 year old chinup Bennett and hockey boy Johnny. Bo is a really good young player playing on a team nobody in the media outside of Vancouver thinks twice about. I wonder how much more we would hear about him if he played on the laffs....
  8. Just heard Dave Tomlinson on the radio. he said that Bo Horvat told him that he got a huge boost of confidence earlier in the year when, during a Coyotes Canucks game, Shane Doan skated up to him and said "Keep up the good work, you are my favorite young player to watch in the league...keep doing what you are doing" That was pretty classy of Doan...
  9. At about 2:15 the razzle dazzle on the shoot out goal...almost megna like! :-)
  10. Next time you feel like falling asleep during a Canuck game here is a little motivation for the future:
  11. Stupid penalties been killing them all year.
  12. Who cares about Tkachuk, whats done is done. Im not convinced he is a 60 point guy, he is playing with two guys that are on a roll. Ill make the same point ad nauseam - top D men are harder to find than 40-50 point wingers. Now back to Juolevi - he got at least another 2 points tonight. Kid is really heating it up since the wjc.
  13. Even if he has a low hockey IQ you would think that with his speed, hitting and shooting ability he can at least be a very good third liner if he just sticks to a north south game. Im not so worried about his AHL performance so far. They may have him working on aspects of his game that take him out of his comfort zone and he still has to adjust. Apparently he has really picked it up during the past couple games. What I cant get out of my mind is his WJC performance. His passes were either too hard, misplaced or way off of the mark, he took a lot of bad penalties, and in many cases he just looked like he was standing still while others were carrying the play. Did he play like that in junior too?
  14. Sure. Ill let the other readers decide what my intent was. Im not going to get in a tit for tat with you because obviously you have lots of brains in that big head.
  15. I just posted stats, nowhere did I call him a first liner and nowhere did I post lofty expectations. Stop imagining things and maybe Ill stop imagining your are masquerading as a Canuck fan and that you live on a ranch in Alberta. Sound like a good deal?
  16. agree! not only that look at how he works to improve himself. Skating was an issue so he improves his skating, struggled a bit last year in the face off circle so he works on his face off skills...guy is a horse and when he works on improving his game we see the results on the ice.
  17. Hmmm... Looks like Bo is outscoring the top 10 of his draft year: 2013 NHL draft position | 2016-2017 point total ~ half way through season 1. Nathan Mackinnon | 27 pts 2. Aleksander Barkov | 27 pts 3. Jonathan Drouin | 27 pts 4. Seth Jones | 18 pts 5. Elias Lindholm | 12 pts 6. Sean Monahan | 23 pts 7. Darnell Nurse | 5 pts 8. Rasmus Ristolainen | 26 pts 9. Bo Horvat | 29 pts 10.Valeri Nichushkin | Scrubbing toilets in Russia I remember all of the Bo vs Nichushkin debates in here....just coz Bo hadnt made the team and Valeri was riding shot gun with some pretty good players in Dallas and racking up some points. Nice to see how things are unfolding. Anybody still want to make that trade? I wouldnt even trade Bo for that butter cup Monahan straight up. I bet you Bo is doing all this with less talented line mates and less first unit PP time than the forwards in the top 10 above.
  18. Good eye! thats got to be him....lol...
  19. Yeah I'm sure Sven reads theses posts and feels pressure... ...must be another cold weather shut in day in Alberta...
  20. Im no physics expert but the length of his arm, plus the length of his stick must result in some high velocity shots...
  21. Was it just me or did that slapper he let go on that rush vs Arizona look like it was going mach 2....you could barely see it in the slow mo replay!
  22. Just noticed that Sven is in the top ten in the whole NHL for even strength points per 60 minutes. Hes surrounded by some lofty company in this list of players: http://stats.hockeyanalysis.com/ratings.php?db=201617&sit=5v5&type=individual&teamid=0&pos=forwards&minutes=200&disp=1&sort=PCT&sortdir=DESC
  23. If Pierre L D or Poolparty had fallen to the Canucks I betcha people would still be doubting the picks because Tkachuk looks better than those guys as of today. PLD has been very underwhelming in the WJC and has less than a point per game in the Q. Pool Party has 1 goal with the coilers this year and has been sitting out lots. Point is other teams passed on Tkachuck too, maybe we should just sit back and watch Juolevi develop - he has all the tools to put it together at the NHL level. Personally Im not sold on Tkachuk turning out better than picks 3-5. Hes been put in a pretty good position to succeed with a strong supporting cast around him. He was given PP time right off of the bat. Not only that, I remember when 18 year old Sam Bennett looked like a phenom in the making - lets see what happens to keith Junior when teams have some video of him and learn his tendencies...
  24. I agree with some of what you say, but im not so sure about how to gauge players based on their WJC performance. For instance Dubois hasnt scored a goal yet on a power house Canada team that has basically bi#t% slapped other teams. He was taken 3rd overall. Barzal - taken 16th has 3 goals, and Raddysh-taken 58th overall has 5 goals. Should Columbus fans be disappointed? Should all of those teams that took players ahead of Raddysh be disappointed? I dont think they should be, WJC performances are not a sure shot indicator of NHL success - otherwise Jordan Schroeder and Cody Hodgson would be all stars. Conversely Bo Horvat looked very average when he made his WJC appearance too. I think we should be cautious about judging Juolevi - his team just doesnt look that good. Ive seen lots of his passes die on his team mates sticks, ive seen them unable to handle his hard passes.
  25. From the NHL lockout to 2012 the Canucks had a .619 winning percentage with Sami Salo and .527 without Sami Salo. Even those juggernaut Canuck teams were a little over .500 without Salo in the lineup. Salo wasnt flashy, his highest point total was 37 points - he probably could have cracked 40+ points if it wasnt for some injuries. He was so underrated - his first pass out of the zone was money, he had a very good hockey IQ and used his team mates well, especially on the PP. He was no Doughty or Karlsson - but he was a major catalyst on those Canuck teams. The cog in the wheel. I see Juolevi having a similar type of effect if he reaches his ceiling. Having a player that can transition the play from the back end and make wise decisions with the puck is huge...he doesnt have to light up the lamp and / or crush guys to turn a good team into a great team.
