  1. thats why I loved that 94 team more than any team. They could play any way you wanted. You wanna run and gun, go ahead, you want to take the game to the gutter...have fun with that.
  2. got to say when I initially looked at Calgary's roster changes i kinda chuckled and thought "good luck with that". You can see Sutter's fingerprints all over those changes. Brings in huge guys like Gudbranson, Zadorov. They add a 210 lb centre in Blake Coleman, bring in gritty guys like Lewis and Richardson for the 4th line. Guddy looked like a tire fire here, but somehow he fits into Sutters system. You add Lucic and Ritchie, and you know other teams will be highly reluctant to take the game to the gutter. A nice combo of speed and skill. Our guys are all nice guys, they have friendly chats with the other team after the whistles.
  3. Add Tom Renney and his left wing lock system to the list lol
  4. in my mind I had given JB 5 maybe 6 years to turn the team around. Considering the state of the prospect pool in 2013/2014, the age of the primary players, i knew it would take multiple years...so I kinda tuned out the criticism and noise knowing we needed to draft/develop practically every key position on the team. This is year 8, and the team looks no better than it did when JB got a bunch of place holders to hold down the fort while better younger players slowly took their positions. I agree with the lack of D, no 3 C, no PK and zero toughness. Green's coaching imho exaggerates the problem, but this is also a personnel issue. Goto the Calgary or WInnipeg boards, ask them what they think of Myers, Poolman and Hamonic. The sense I get is those fans were glad to see those guys go. It was kinda like us moving on from MDZ, who cares. Yet these guys are the core of our D. Benning has had 8 years to construct a D. IMHO the only reliable guys that would be top 4 on most teams are OEL and Hughes. The bottom pair is AHL calibre, and the rest of them can be good one night and look like tripe on the next night. I thought our Offence would be good enough to cover the warts this year. EP, BB aren't doing very well right now, especially EP. So the holes are magnified. The problem starts at the Top imho, and its time to move on from this management team.
  5. Somewhere in Medicine Hat willie D’s ears just perked up…
  6. Seeing Tanev walk was hard, I saw some stat today that the Tanev Kylington pairing is like top 2 or 3 shutdown pair in the league. When Tanev played here he was always injured because the teams he played on were no good combined with the passive D numbnutz coach likes to run, it was a shooting gallery night after night. I can see an org letting go a high quality asset to ufa once in a while but multiple good players have walked from this regime with nothing to show in return. To make matters worse two of them are pillars for a rival team that is playing like a top team right now
  7. I honestly hope you are right. I think green needs to go but at the same time there are deficiencies in this roster that said there is no way they are as bad as they showed tonight. It’s like they have given up on the coach
  8. 7-1 and No Mackinnon, might have been 10 if he played no more excuses. This management group is 8 years in and they look worse now than they did in year one. Benning assembled the roster and picked the coach . It all starts at the top.
  9. Don’t worry he will have the power point out in the morning with a list of Ahl coaches as possible replacements
  10. Yup… There was that game they played the coilers and Edmonton practically had their whole roster intact and green was still figuring out of it should be Dowling or Di Guiseppe Same with the pp in the preseason why you going with chiasson and Petan on pp1 as if they needed the practice
  11. The regime has had almost 8 years to build a d, there’s no excuse for this. The bottom pair belong in the ahl. How many d cores in the western conference are worse when it comes to toughness, mobility and generating offence. Green sucks but he’s got some tripe to work with.
  12. Even the Colorado fans prob can’t believe the stench on the ice
  13. Imho this all starts at the top. 8th year of this regime and they look worse now than they did in year 1 yeah they drafted well in most cases but my 80 yr old uncle Harold could find talent when picking in the top quarter of the first two rounds management picked the coaches, management assembled the roster
  14. Exactly. Fans are giving him a pass but going after green … The pk players and bottom 6 look horrible. Green has his warts but he’s got some tripe to work with. EP and Boeser being underwhelming doesn’t help either.
  15. Forget scoring… Will they get more than 3 shots this period
  16. Embarrassing getting outplayed at the start of almost every game
  17. Thats a top 6 I would really like to see. Seeing Podz and Bo work on the boards last night was quite impressive. Then you add Garland to the mix.
  18. I did not blame the loss on that (non)call, but yeah lets be trigger happy and jump to conclusions. It is possible to criticize a call in a game without blaming the loss on the event. You see 5 Canucks, 2 of which are within 5 feet of the bench which is allowed under the rules. The 4th anaheim player is too far out. They lost in OT because Miller and Horvat took another rush when they were out of gas, they should have passed it back and gone to the bench.
  19. Better than Hunt! Seriously though, he has been pretty reliable, and shows flashes of offence
