  1. Should've, Could've, Would've..... Calder is chosen based games played, not games that might have been played. Sure, Makar is good, but look at the team he's on. IMHO, Quinn has had a bigger impact on his team than Makar on his. Quinn wins the Calder by a handful of votes!
  2. I think the riots that would ensue would even make ANTIFA & BLM jealous!
  3. I think it's a little too early to say with any degree of certainty whether this trade was a bad thing. Bit of a risk for sure, but at 28, Toffoli still has some good years left and is a developed scoring talent that makes us an even more dangerous team. Gotta think JB and company have considered all the angles and thought this through....I hope. Can't believe JB would give up young talent like Madden to trade for a guy he was going to let walk after a handful of games. Gotta think other trades or salary dumps are up and coming. JB has something up his sleeve - I think he will end up signing Toffoli to a multi-year contract.
  4. If you misunderstood something I said, I would have been happy to explain my point. Unfortunate that you take offense so easily. For those who understand, no explanation is necessary, but those who refuse to understand, no explanation is possible.
  5. My point wasn't about the legitimacy of any specific code of conduct created/enforced by the Capitals, so I don't disagree with your premise that Leipsic's responsibility was to represent himself within the bounds of such a code. He placed himself under that code and should be held accountable to it. But again, that's not the point I was making. Neither was I attempting to make a case for leniency due to the medium through which the speech crime occurred. With all due respect, that is your assumption only. My point was highlighting the hypocrisy of society's policing of certain speech crimes under the banner of tolerance and inclusiveness and the definition of right/wrong speech being determined solely on the basis of majority consensus, hence totalitarian control of society by consent. Right or wrong, any such code of conduct implemented by every NHL team would then be a natural outflow of such consensus.
  6. I would respectfully disagree with you. Legal code of conducts are to ensure that employees don't "offend" other employees, embarrass the company or tarnish the company image. Legality isn't necessarily a universal guide for proper behavior, but what's proper to those in charge. I could be wrong, but I suspect that the Washington Capitals didn't necessarily cut ties with Leipsic because of the personal moral stance of it's owners. What's more probable is the club's fear of loosing fans and the public backlash and lynching of their their franchise.
  7. The MSM creates their news this way so why not the NHL...
  8. Leipsic's comments are inappropriate in any day and age. However, its a slippery slope when society begins to police the personal expression of opinion or speech, no matter how hateful, improper, or offensive such speech is to our sensibilities. Leipsic has made himself the latest sacrifice lamb to be slaughtered on society's altar of "tolerance" and "inclusiveness," yet for some reason, society lost it's desire for blood and became more forgiving about Trudeau's multiple black-face obscenities. But alas, like wearing masks in public, such social hypocrisy has become the new norm. Leipsic should be called out for his comments, that much is certain. However, there's a fine line between making one accountable for socially inappropriate comments and embracing a form of social totalitarianism that's established by majority consent.
  9. Welcome to North America Emilio, but you're direction is a little off.....this is the Canucks board, not the Flames!
  10. Instead of rejecting that which you don't know and so reject, it might be a good time to educate yourself on argumentative logic and the use of psychology in Hegelian Dialectic philosophy. Those who will not read have no intellectual advantage over those who can not read! https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/hegel-dialectics/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dialectic https://ndpr.nd.edu/news/hegel-and-resistance-history-politics-and-dialectics/
  11. Psychological programing of the masses to welcome totalitarian manipulation and control...all for our own good of course! This is nothing but a well-planned execution of a Hegelian Dialectic process where a problem is created so that the masses will willingly embrace "solution". Baby steps at first, then comes the hammer. There's darker forces at work here people...resist the urge to surrender to the irrational fear and hype. "We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false” — William Casey Director of the C.I.A. at an early February 1981 meeting of the newly elected President Reagan in the Roosevelt Room of the WH with his new cabinet secretaries." (confirmed by Barbara Honnager, Nov 25, 2014) http://truthstreammedia.com/2015/01/13/cia-flashback-well-know-our-disinformation-program-is-complete-when-everything-the-american-public-believes-is-false/ https://www.globalresearch.ca/spinning-fear-and-panic-across-america-analysis-of-covid-19-data/5706785 Understand what you'll get in martial law. The suspension of the Canadian Constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. All your rights, all your freedoms you now enjoy, gone! Complete control of your person, family and life. Only to be given back if, and when THEY decide you deserve them back. Supposed virus or not....HELL NO TO MARTIAL LAW!!!
  12. Possible COVID-19 cure??? NCBI report below the video....looks promising. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32173110/
  13. That was a typo.....I meant to type 4%, not .04%. That being as it may, perspective is everything. Since you obviously had the intelligence to read the Center for Disease Control information I used to authenticate and support my perspective, the false dichotomy you created in order to discard my opinion as "a random CDC poster" is moot. As a side note, we may have Canuck fans from the CDC who like to hang out on our forums!
  14. I would suggest you take your own advice and educate yourself. No one is suggesting that this strain isn't more easily contracted than strains, nor is anyone implying that COVIND-19 doesn't pose a threat. Those are really straw-man arguments that employ half-truths, the theoretical unknown and peer pressure to brow-beat opposition into silent submission. In such an environment, a balanced perspective is as hard to find as finding chastity in a brothel. According to the CDC, since Oct 1, 2019, 34-49 million cases of the common flu world-wide and upwards of 20,000 - 52,000 people have died it. On average 45,000-50,000 people die every month from the common flu. With this COVIND-19 strain, over the last 6 weeks or so, there's been 126,000 *reported* cases with 4,600 corresponding deaths. This initially seems to indicate that COVIND-19 has a higher death rate per capita than the common flue, but it must be remembered however that most of those deaths are occurring in China and the developing world. If Chinese reports are to be accepted as authoritative, 96% of all deaths from this virus has occurred in Wuhan. Outside Wuhan, the death rate drops to 4%. Even with common flu vaccines readily available, more people have died from the flu over the 6 weeks than COVIND-19. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia/mainland-china-reports-139-new-coronavirus-cases https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-04/coronavirus-spread-in-china-slows-drastically-but-doubt-remains So stay alert, wash your hands, touch your face, take your head out of the sand and educate yourself.
  15. Agreed! If the official numbers are to be believed, there's been 4,600 deaths from the coronavirus covind-19 strain since it started in mid-late February. However, for over a generation now, there are approximately 42,000 deaths world-wide from the common flu, yet they haven't closed stadiums, cancelled playoffs, restricted travel etc.. Way too much fearmongering, even to the point of psychological abuse of the masses by the "official" voices. One has to ask...why? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6815659/
  16. LE Captain?? Well, if our Captain is a representative of how we're playing as a team, you might have something there....
