There is no blame on the pitchers they're doing their job so far, except for the Liriano start but that again was from poor managing. It's the bats that are choking, just can't seem to get consecutive hits or clutch hits. Speed is definitely something this team needs more of for the bases, but as mentioned earlier they need a real lead off to get this team going and into games more from the start, and get the opposing pitcher off his game and more worried about the threat on base then the guy at the plate. -

I'd have every player ahead of him until he gets an average period. -

I'll agree that was a bad call, but he had 2 beauty chances before that, and choked because he was swinging for the fence again. -

Finally an attempt at small ball hit and run it's about freaking time, even though it didn't work I'm glad it was attempted. -

Gibbons is just ridiculous, why is Martin even hitting 6th he can't hit, so he can't even drive in runs he should be in the 8th or 9th hole if he's going to play, until he gets an average. #FireGibbons -

He's waiting until he turns 48 lol, obviously teams don't want to pay him what he wants or they aren't willing to give him a full time role in what he wants. Seems like he's willing to wait it out until an OF gets hurt and a team needs a full time player, but by not playing at all he's just making it harder to stay in shape and game form to have a team go after him if he continues this path. This is coming from San Fran 3 days ago. Angel Pagan remains on the free-agent market and according to reports, he is holding out for a major league contract with a base salary approaching $5 million No, the Giants won’t re-sign him. Barry Bonds probably could post a .400 on-base percentage and add to his major league record home run total if he were to stand in the batter’s box again. -

That is what small ball is, and we don't have it at all, it's sad actually. But having a lead off that's capable of playing that type of style is what this team needs. This is also why I had hopes for Pompey to make the team and maybe fill that role, hopefully he can recover soon and see if he can, but if he won't be ready for a long time they need to make a trade and acquire someone now. -

Well we definitely have different opinions on Gibbons, but I lost respect for Gibbons years ago when he used to be the Manger before this stint. I don't know if you remember or not, but this guy butted heads with a lot of players back then, especially with pitchers where there was a lot of fighting between him and them. It's his stubbornness to change that pisses me off, and lack of trying to change, but at the same time he just doesn't know how to coach small ball which imo doesn't make him a good manager at all. I'll agree Tulo is a guy who isn't thinking of going yard all the time, and seems like Morales is about hitting gaps and power which is good, but that's his job not to play small ball he isn't that guy, but still they're not guys who play small ball like bunting or using their speed to get extra bases or steal. -

Who are the 2 in your mind? The 2 I think of is Carerra who's this teams best bunter, but obviously isn't a regular and the other guy would Pillar but he still isn't good at bunting. I know in spring training he went and played a couple minor games and just went to bunt at every at bat he went 0-7 lol, but at least he tried and practiced it, but doesn't seem to matter because Gibbons doesn't know or want to coach like that. Honestly at this point even if you don't like him, a change needs to happen to get something going at least. -

Read a report and going to post some of the key notes I read, but it also shows how bad Gibbons as a manger really is, he is all about power and home runs we all know this, but his inability to play small ball is ridiculous which is costing this team wins as well. A week into the 2017 campaign, the Blue Jays are 1-6. Never before - not even in 1977, their inaugural season, when the roster was comprised of expansion-team drek - have the Blue Jays started a season so poorly. With runners in scoring position, they're hitting .156. Pitchers, as a group, hit .133 in 2016. They're also the only team in baseball without a stolen base. Tommy Joseph, the Philadelphia Phillies' 255-pound first baseman, has one. Josh Donaldson worked himself into a 3-0 count against Kevin Gausman. Understandably, he had the green light, but Donaldson just missed Gausman's get-me-over fastball, popping it up into foul territory down the first-base line. One out. Ultimately, the Blue Jays were held scoreless that inning. Had Donaldson, say, taken a walk instead, the Blue Jays' odds of scoring a run would've jumped almost 20 percent, and they would've had Jose Bautista at the plate with a runner in scoring position. When Pillar stepped to the plate with runners on the corners and nobody out, Toronto's win expectancy sat at almost 65 percent, but that figure plummeted nearly 11 points after the light-hitting center fielder popped up to the catcher, keeping Martin at third. (Perfect guy for a bunt) When your team is struggling and not producing runs it's the little things that will win you those close games, and it all starts in the 1st inning of the game. Having Donaldson swinging away on 3-0 when your team is struggling to win games is just POOR managing. And once again it seems like when runners are on base, batters are thinking of hitting a home run instead of just putting the bat on the ball, or laying a bunt down, and it's all on Gibbons and his inability to coach small ball. -

I know it's early and people are saying no time to panic it's still early, which part of me agrees with, but the other part of me the competitive side isn't thinking like that at all. If this team digs themselves in to deep of a hole now it's going to be very tough to get out of it, the division is tough enough it's going to be a battle this team better wake up soon. Gibbons better start getting Salty in the games more instead of waiting until Lirianos start again, because Martin is obviously struggling bad. I also believe the lack of having a true lead off has affected this team since 2015. When they had Revere this team was a threat everytime he got on base, plus it affected the opposing pitcher in how he pitched to other batters, but this team was on a tear once he became leadoff and having Price helped a lot. Last year without a true leadoff the team struggled and barley got into the playoffs, they weren't as much as a threat, and I'm seeing the same thing this year. Imo they really need to find a lead off hitter who obviously gets on base but has SPEED, this will change every game they play, but until that happens it's going to be a struggle for lots of games I believe. -

Yeah hard to miss the season opener especially when you have the tickets already. Hopefully JB and KM crush some balls for you! Yes I remember that because report was he was going to start the season as DH but they obviously decided not to, but it was from batting anyways that tweaked it. Was it the guy I called out not to long ago? -

Yikes, zombie mode good times lol! Hopefully you get some rest soon. Guess we won't be seeing Sparkman anytime soon lol. Blue Jays' Glenn Sparkman: Transferred to 60-day DL Sparkman was transferred to the 60-day DL Monday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. Analysis: Sparkman is still recovering from a fractured thumb he suffered early in March, and seeing as the Blue Jays need to keep the Rule 5 pick on their roster all year, they're likely in no hurry to get him back. When he is able to return, expect him to figure into the bullpen in a low-leverage role. http://www.thescore.com/mlb_daily_fantasy/news/1277292 @Xbox -

Blue Jays' Ty Kelly: Claimed by Blue Jays (3B/OF) Kelly was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Monday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. Analysis: Kelly was hitless in his only at-bat with the Mets this season before being designated for assignment. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Blue Jays transferred Glenn Sparkman from the 10-day DL to the 60-day DL. The 28-year-old will likely serve as organizational depth with his new club. http://www.thescore.com/news/1277285 -

Anytime another team is onto your starter every inning is a gamble. Bullpen hasn't been that bad, actually pretty decent, this isn't last year yet lol. Yeah Donaldson is hurt sounds and looks like his calf not good at all.
