Just read this and was a little surprised tbh, don't know how legit it is but sounds like it could be... It’s likely that outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. will make the Blue Jays, but it’s not a lock, according to Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com. The last spot on the team figures to go to either Upton, whom Toronto acquired last summer from San Diego, or out-of-options middle infielder Ryan Goins. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/03/quick-hits-pagan-tigers-giants-m-upton-rangers-brewers-bosox.html -

Interesting, well glad they're taking that approach with him just wish they did the same with Smoak lol. I guess Upton didn't help his case today, although believe it or not Smoak in his last 5 games is finally hitting, he's actually on a 3 game hit streak and yesterday and today went 2-3. Time will tell if he can keep it up, but I don't expect it. -

It's really hard to say, but I'm leaning towards no. If Travis is healthy enough to go opening day then probably not. -

Yeah that was really good tonight, if only he played that type of role his whole career people would of enjoyed him more. I remember being younger and hoping he would become the next Stone Cold 2.0 basically, he could of easily was good on the mic, but he changed when it went pg and he chose the other path of nice Cena. -

I did do some googling regarding it funny it's the first suggestion after you search his name.... Anyways I see back in late December it was speculated by someone, that he may be. I bring it up because I remember him a year ago and not being anywhere close to how ripped he is now, of course the veins popping out don't help, but he's put a lot of muscle on in a short period of time. Just compare photos of him and it looks kind of obvious imo, especially when looking at his neck/shoulders. Tbh not a big fan of this couple feud, it's the dressing up and all this coping the other that's lost my interest tbh, wouldn't of minded just a regular feud, but feel it's getting a little childish. But he wasn't ripped a year ago... It's how ripped he's got in such a short period of time, which has me wondering. -

Not sure if this is true or not, I just thought it maybe was due to recent suspensions, but are these guys allowed to use steroids still? Do they get suspended if they use? I'm only asking because I think it's pretty obvious that Jinder Mahal has been using steroids, the guy looks so roided up now. -

Well Zeke played yesterday when they played against team Canada and he's playing LF today and leading off against the Tigers so he must be good enough to play in just ST games. Upton also is supposedly back today from his minor injury... I just don't see the room here until a trade is made, trade Upton and Pagan is here guaranteed. Stroman was given the Starting job last year, and penciled in as the teams ace. It was discussed last year on here, how it was to much pressure for him to handle which is what probably caused some of his struggles last year. I think it messed with him a bit being that young and feeling like it's his job to carry this team, just got into his head to much when he should of just been concentrating on pitching. Maybe management feels they don't want to put that onto Sanchez this year, in case it also plays with his mind and affects his performance this year. Whatever the reasons are will never know the truth anyways lol, but as Rupert said just start the guy who is best fit for who they'll be facing is the best way of doing it imo. -

Actually I really like this idea that's a great approach imo, much better then putting pressure on someone to be the leader on your team, just because. -

Forgot to post this the other day regarding Pagan. Jays and Phillies are supposedly the front runners for him, but I don't think it will happen with him wanting the everyday position, plus money wise, as stated before they would have to trade someone imo. Report: Blue Jays, Phillies connected to Pagan On Thursday, one day after Pagan broke up Marcus Stroman's no-hit bid in the seventh inning of the WBC championship game, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported that the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies are connected to the 35-year-old outfielder. Pagan, who earned $11.25 million in 2016, wouldn't necessarily be guaranteed an everyday role with the Blue Jays or Phillies, though. In Toronto, Pagan would likely platoon in left field with Melvin Upton Jr., and his playing time would probably be even more sporadic in Philadelphia, where he'd likely be used to spell offseason additions Howie Kendrick and Michael Saunders. http://www.thescore.com/news/1262270 -

Totally agree he's an upgrade over Smoak almost any player is an upgrade to Smoak. I don't mind the idea actually, but it would be on a short leash and if it doesn't work, then straight down to the minors. But he did say he isn't going to pursue a contract from any team until he's 100% healthy, so I don't think it's going to happen. Plus I feel we already have some good depth that can cover this position, Pearce, Morales(occasionally), Bautista, I'd rather go with those guys and hope Pompey gets healthy again and can cover the outfield for those guys if needed. -

He's an ace in a different way imo, he's not a dominant ace, but he mixes his pitches well and gets the job done, smart pitcher. As stated I don't mind him starting my post isn't a bash to him at all, it's just my overall view of this management and how they're dealing with situations. -

I'm okay with Estrada starting, but I feel management is trying to not start tension/problems, but are, the more they're trying not too. Everyone knows Sanchez is the true ace, but not letting him be the starter does send a message, especially after they had Stroman labeled as the ace and starter last year... But because they know there is some bad blood between the two they're trying to avoid any controversy and pick someone else as the starter, when in reality they should of just gave it to Sanchez after they gave it to Stroman last year. Then I read this on Sportsnet today and don't understand why come out and say this now.... Blue Jays’ Shapiro on Aaron Sanchez: ‘The more we pay you the better’ The Toronto Blue Jays are paying Aaron Sanchez the MLB minimum salary in 2017, but they hope to pay him ‘a lot of money’ in the future. “Ross and I have told Aaron, ‘Listen, we want to pay you a lot of money. We want to pay you more money. The more we pay you the better, because that means you’ve performed better,’” Shapiro said Friday during a guest spot on The Jeff Blair Show on Sportsnet 590 The FAN. “We want our guys to all do extremely well for us to have to pay them a ton of money. Because if we have to pay them a ton of money, that means they’re performing on the field, which means we have a better chance to be a championship team.” http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-shapiro-aaron-sanchez-pay-better/ How do you say this just after you didn't want to pay him what his agent and him wanted you guys to pay him, and came back with the league minimum? This just adds to my list of things with this new management I'm not enjoying and it's making me doubt them more and more. It all started with Price and not even bothering to make an offer, then signing Smoak when they did should of been done in the off season not in the middle of the season, but most importantly not signed at all. Then resigning Thole so he could be post season eligible, when Dickey isn't even a starter in the post season and shut down why resign Thole... Signing Gibbons to an extension now instead of waiting until after this season, I'm sorry but he failed as a Manager in his first stint as a Manager with the Jays was not happy AA brought him back originally. Now he has a stacked team and should be able to get wins, but his lack of being able to coach small ball and just rely on power and home runs is getting old. I know he has tried to add small ball into his game, but when he tries it, it's not the right time or doesn't have the right players to be doing it, he just doesn't know how to coach this. Plus he seems to have a hard time also evaluating pitcher situations and keeping guys in to long or not long enough, again when your pitcher the inning before is starting to get lit up guys are hitting his balls hard and deep means the other team is starting to catch up to his stuff, but Gibbons will still put him out their next inning and what happens runs are scored and then he makes the move to change pitchers, when it should of happened at the start of the inning. If this team does make it past the ALCS this year, then maybe I would consider possibly an extension, but until that happens I really don't believe he deserved an extension yet. -

This is what I was thinking another team will take him I think, because they don't have to pay much of his salary that's why the Jays went for it, but obviously he's not even worth the discount on the Jays. -

I agree it would make the team better, and I'm all for that, if they're willing to let these guys go of course...
