  1. I've always bashed Cecil but right now I love him!! Sanchez just lost his spot. I wouldn't mind Cecil pitching in the 8th or be the closer. He has been lights out!!

Same when he was a starter didn't like him, and even when he went to the bullpen still wasn't excited about the guy. But hats off to Cecil, he has obviously worked at becoming a better pitcher out of a newer position, he has grown on me and after that outing how can you not like him lol.

  2. I've been playing for about 46 years. So we've got that out of the way.

Are you familiar with the lefty-righty match up strategy that teams have been employing since before your grandfather was born? DO you remember the John Olerud years? Cito used to sit him against lefties as well.

I don't think you know baseball as well as you think you do...

Well your trying to explain information to me that I already know, and acting like I don't know the game when I clearly do, and your missing my whole point. The lefty-Righty works when the guy can HIT, obviously CP can't hit so how is he the better option? Jezz even Adam Lind hits better against Lefties then CP can, just because you don't want lefty-lefty, you might as well if the guy has a better chance at hitting and clearly they all do over CP. Sometimes you need to evolve, just because it's the most common thing to do in the game, you need to open your eyes and see sometimes it's not the better option anyways.

  3. I understand that he's not hitting and said as much in my post. I also pointed out that he might be needed if Goins is injured, which is why Gibby gave him the start against a tough lefty who likely would have given Goins and/or Kawasaki a tough time.

It's easy to use 20/20 hindsight and say that he had a poor night at the plate so it was a bad decision, but it's solid baseball strategy and it's been around for over 100 years.

If you don't think I know baseball and the way the game is played your wrong, I've been playing for 26 years. Yeah I don't have a problem with them doing that if one the player is actually hitting, or two your team is not in a postion for post season and it makes total sense to do it. But when your in a Pennant race, and these are games you need to win no matter what, I don't care you put out the best player available for you to win period. And I'm sorry, but CP is not the best option at the moment and where this team is standing, hence another reason why I have never been a fan of Gibby, some of the moves he makes just all you can do is shake your head.

My whole point is he shouldn't even be in ANY games right now, he doesn't help this team to win and that's all that matters right now.

  4. Switch hitter. Both Goins and Moony are lefties, so CP is there to start against left handed pitching. He's hitting well below the Mendoza line as a Jay, but all it takes is an injury to Gogo and he becomes a needed commodity. Gibby has to get him some ABs, so he isn't completely rusty when needed.

Far and away the best defensive catcher on the roster. (As we saw on that steal attempt)

His average hasn't been great, but his defense is the important thing. He has to get some credit for the way the pitching has rebounded in the second half as well.

Did you not read past what you highlighted? I know why Gibby is putting him in the game, but it doesn't MATTER because he can't hit anyways. Great switch hitter who went 0-5 and is now batting 0.74, wow that switch hitting is so much better option then Goins or Kawasaki..................NOT.

  5. I don't mind that as the CF is supposed to be in control of the outfield, and the general rule is that if he can get there he takes it, but Pillar needs to realize that sometimes the corner guys have the easier or better play on the ball even if he's capable of catching it himself.

As a CF myself, I do take control, but I know when my other fielders are in a better position to catch it, I let them and trust them. Pillar doesn't seem to see it like this, and feels he needs to take control way too much, almost as if he doesn't trust his fielders, that's not good on his part.

  6. I still think Revere should be the lead off over Tulo. Tulo isn't a lead off batter that's not his approach, he was never a lead off player why put him in a position he never was before and obviously it's playing with him. Revere on the other hand knows how to make a pitcher work, and the guy has speed. Just move everyone back 1 spot and take the pressure of Tulo, so he can go up there swinging at his pitches.

The only other problem is Pennington this guy blows, get him out of there, someone from the Canadians could be a better option at this point.

  7. Read this a couple days ago, but it sounds like Austin is in a way is hinting he wants to do another match, the 2 names out there are John Cena and Sting.

Man, John Cena. I got a lot of respect for that guy. You talk about a road warrior, a guy that works his tail off, shows up with a smile on his face every single day and adds himself to shows when he’s needed. Hell, even when he’s not needed, the guy just loves to get on the road, and he loves the company that much. He’s an absolute workhorse.

I’ve seen John Cena have great matches with so many great talents, but I don’t think there’s anybody that could light his a** up to a level of intensity more than myself as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. So I’d love to tangle with John Cena, and I tell you, that guy’s an absolute machine in the ring. He never gets tired. He’s a gym freak. He’s one of the strongest guys in the business. I really like what he does inside the ring, and I would really like to mess with him to see what kind of magic we could create.

Sting was over wherever he went. I think the guy is WWE Hall of Fame material. But I do believe that that was one of his strongholds way back in the day. So, that man, I tell you what, that ain’t a bad matchup and he’s another guy that I worked with many times down in WCW. When he was on top, I was kind of a mid-card guy and we had great matches. It would be great to play “Stone Cold” vs. Sting in any arena you can pick, and if you’re going to pick the Baltimore Arena, I’m down with that.

Also note: Austin also did a promo on his podcast with Heyman about a match against Brock, but later declined and said it was a mistake to make false hopes for a match a Wrestlemania.

Personally I would like to see Austin vs The Rock, if he does have 1 more match.
