  2. Yeah that's definitely scary and worrying. I do remember months ago of pets being tested positive, dogs or cats I believe it was dogs, but didn't hear much on them retransmitting it back then. But definitely worrying if minks are able to do it.
  3. This 2nd wave is so much more deadly then the first wave, not sure why, there were rumors of not using ventilators as much as before at hospitals, or the virus has just mutated and has become more deadly, whatever the reason is it's not looking good. B.C. has a total of 587 deaths, but 146 have happened just in December alone and we're not even half way through December yet, not looking good.
  4. Well this isn't promising..... B.C. marks the deadliest day of the pandemic, as COVID-19 claims 28 lives B.C. health officials announced 723 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and 28 more deaths — the highest number of deaths in a 24-hour period since the start of the pandemic. All but two of the people who died were residents of long-term care homes. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/covid-19-update-dec-10-1.5836552
  5. Actually like I just said to the last poster I was definitely on board with the strict restrictions I just wish they were implemented much earlier so we could of curbed it before Christmas and by this time now wouldn't have to be this strict. I felt they were way to lenient with it and definitely let their guard down after the first wave, I guess they like to call it. I actually would of preferred the whole lockdown approach at the beginning as you state, literally give everyone 1 week to stock up and then literally shut everything down for 2 weeks minimum and see if it can remove it in a big way. But unfortunately with the way this world works with the economy people would still have to travel, so it still would be lingering around here and there but I would bet it wouldn't be as bad as it is right now, if we took that approach early. It's definitely frustrating seeing other Provinces having the opportunity to see their loves ones and family at Christmas. I'm not happy seeing they are allowed and we're not, I would prefer that they get punished the same to help stop the spread obviously, but maybe if B.C. was stricter on this months ago we wouldn't be having this conversation now. One thing I'll add, I have a Grandfather who's 91 and a Grandmother who's 94, I haven't seen them at all this year they live together still, personally I don't know how much time my Grandma has left. I have been keeping my distance from going there in fear of not giving them the virus in case some how I got it without knowing. I also have done things to keep my distance from anyone, I've been wearing a mask and gloves everywhere I go even before they started telling people to wear masks, I've taken this thing more serious then many. But not being able to drive over to my Grandparents keep my distance to even talk to them from outside to say hello say Merry Christmas and see them once again, and see that other Provinces are allowing those people to go in their house or invite them to their place and I can't even drive in my Grandparents driveway to say hello, that's just garbage imo.
  6. I get that hence why I was on board for our tough restrictions, but again if you really don't understand the frustration in not being able to see your family members 1 time and haven't been able to in months, but can sit there and watch other provinces go ahead and do it, then I guess you'll never understand oh well.
  7. I'm upset because I can't see my family at Christmas while other provinces can, I just don't think that's fair, especially when imo we are handling it better then some of those provinces that are allowing them to see their family at Christmas. Manitoba actually had their province closed at the beginning of all this, and their numbers were very low, as soon as they opened their province to other provinces, their numbers really started going up and have been one of the worst since. Well yeah the borders aren't technically closed you can still fly across, which doesn't make sense when they claim the borders are supposedly closed yet really aren't. It does suck that we have been doing things in this province to be proactive, and it still isn't good enough to allow us to see our family at Christmas, but as long as I'm willing to spend some money at a Bar or a Restaurant I can go see average joe there instead, but not my family, OK....
  8. It would if it was set up to have the province closed from other provinces but then open it for the odd day, but it's not. It's just cheat day everyday
  9. What's so hard about other provinces being just as proactive then? Of course I don't want it like L.A. but I don't want the rest of Canada to be like L.A. I don't just care about B.C. I care about the whole Country, especially when they're allowed to travel from one province to the other still. But what's the point of being so proactive if you're not going to really be that proactive though....
  10. The one I found alarming was Vancouver Island was inviting all the snowbirds across Canada to come to the Island this year....
  11. Ok so B.C. does all this work to be proactive, but allows the ones not being proactive to still come and travel here to help spread it so we can still stay more proactive, while they still don't. So what's the point in being so proactive then?
  12. I'm actually a little upset now after talking to a friend from Ontario, actually very upset. This is actually a joke imo, the Province of Ontario has a death rate of 2.8%, here in B.C. the death rate is at 1.4%. But in Ontario they get to celebrate Christmas with their families in other people's households up to 10 people indoor, and 25 outdoor in some areas since the color zones control their province. Yet in B.C. we can't even do anything of that for Christmas, heck even if Ontario went into the grey zone lockdown it still says they can have up to 10 people gather outside, but here in B.C. were not even in lockdown and can't even have people gather outside.... Like seriously this actually makes no sense anymore, why in B.C. is it stricter when it's actually worse in Ontario, why isn't Canada making their restrictions the same as ours? Why are people in B.C. getting screwed more imo.
  13. Personally I think the Moderna one is better Manitoba is getting the Moderna one, but I'm sure the Pfizer one is good, but the whole world should be really paying attention to the UK right now, they're literally the human testers for the rest of the world with Pfizer. I know I'm going to be following news out of there for the next while to see what happens.
  14. Yup but they're still telling them to avoid the vaccine if you have strong allergies..... U.K. warns people with ‘significant’ allergies to avoid Pfizer coronavirus vaccine https://globalnews.ca/news/7510587/pfizer-coronavirus-vaccine-significant-allergies/amp/
  15. Was watching Global News and on the ticker at the bottom I read people who have high allergies are being told to NOT take the Pfizer vaccine in the UK, there seems to be an issue....
  16. Hear this one out, for anyone who's ever had the whooping cough they know that cough, one of the worst months of anyone's life, but I remembered reading that covid had some similarities to the whooping cough because they both affect the lungs. So this guy I speak to on a regular basis who lives in Arizona older guy mid 60's, he had to go see the doctor on a Monday due to tremors he was having, didn't talk to him again until the Thursday, but when talking to him every minute roughly he would cough pretty deeply, he never does this when we normally talk, but the cough he had reminded me of when me and my family had the whooping cough. I said this to him because I read there was some similarities, of course he didn't want to hear that, but wasn't ready to accept he may have contracted covid, he just thought he had a bug because it's colder now. Basically 5 days passed again and didn't see or talk to him, I ended up getting a message from his son who informed me his dad was in the Hospital with covid, he had covid and his mother had covid, they all got it. Just talked to my guy yesterday, he finally is back home after being in the hospital for a week but his voice sounds so rough still, but just glad he made it through. So if you've ever had the whooping cough it's definitely not that common anymore, but if you've ever had it and you hear someone coughing and it sounds a little similar to that cough if you remember the cough, then I suggest you stay far away from them or tell them to go get checked asap, good chance they have covid.
  17. Well I'm glad that school took the right approach to it and the person was tested so others could know and do what you mentioned. The family member I know they haven't had to quarantine once since they've been teaching everyday since school started, once they send a kid home it's up to the parents to get them tested but if they don't, they're allowed to come back when feeling better but no one knows if they're positive or not. That's the scary part imo.
  18. I actually have a family memeber who is a teacher, and they say the numbers aren't accurate because they're trying to help parents out during this time to keep kids in school, daycare that's all it really is right now. Teachers aren't being tested, if a kid shows signs of being sick they get sent home but aren't put into quarantine, they can come back when feeling better. Again masks aren't mandatory but schools are a public place where masks are supposed to be mandatory in all public spaces though, so it's definitely alarming they're allowing no mandatory masks at school. It's almost like the school board really could care less if their teachers get sick, just as long as parents have a place to drop off kids so they can work. I get it for kids and parents that need to work, but teachers are pretty much not protected just so kids can be in school. Almost similar to when they tried selling it to the public that masks weren't necessary, because they had a shortage of masks for the front line workers and didn't want the public to stock pile and buy them all. Again I get it they needed the masks, but the approach they took was wrong because they already put the message into peoples minds that masks weren't needed, and then down the road they try to sell it to people that they now need masks... No really, it was always airborne, again I never fell for that one, but it was obvious what they were doing, just wish they did it a different way without telling the public masks weren't needed, that was wrong.
  19. I guess we could all go to the restaurant or bar for Christmas and even have our masks off as well at one point because people need to eat right....
  20. So I guess with the new restrictions Christmas is basically canceled.
  21. Yeah it's confusing when people do that for no reason, and don't even ask or engage with you for why they're confused in the first place. Especially when you wrote something that was specific for the this topic. It's definitely confusing why they do it in the first place.
  22. I did a few pages ago I think you confused emoji that one as well, care to voice what you were confused about or just continue confuse emjoi trolling instead? I'll make it even easier for you it's on page 1303, you can't miss it
