  1. He imbibes twice as fast. Tactical genius!!
  2. Looks like he's eating poorly and has no self control. Another bust. /s /S!!!
  3. Do you think that Gudbranson would pair well with Juolevi? I see similarities between Juolevi and Edler (Just less physicality), so I think it might be something worth trying.
  4. I remember seeing a lot of conflicting reports. Some saying weak, and some saying that it wasn't weak as a whole, but just not as top heavy as the previous drafts. Either way, I'm loving the draft for us.
  5. Apparently I've misjudged CDC in saying that people are "certain" about the NHL career of Pettersson. If that's the case, I'm sorry. I'm excited about the kid.
  6. "well, I do know a coming response to this post but I have powers of foresight in that area" I hate seeing things like this.
  7. "Of course nothing is a certainty until it happens" That is my only point. I've seen people definitively say that he will be elite. My only point is to say that it's not definitive. Nothing else.
  8. Tone gets lost in text. If you were joking, then I apologize, but it wasn't clear that you were.
  9. I said that I'm confident that he will be an excellent NHLer. Did you miss that? Confidence does not equal certainty. If you can't grasp that very simple concept, then there's not talking to you. It's a shame for me because I appreciate your optimism in posts. For the most part, I've agreed with you, but you're specifically ignoring defined terms and cherry picking parts of my posts.
  10. 1. I understand that this is the prospects forum, but I've seen enough posts that state definitively that he will be elite in the NHL and that's ignorant. You're ignoring context and trying to draw a conclusion based on the name of the forum it's posted in. 2. That's a garbage quote from someone trying to rationalize a defined term to their will. Certainty is proof. Gravity is proven. Are people close minded for being certain about it? Of course you can look ahead and predict based on available information. It's still a belief, not certainty. Certainty is not belief. I believe the sun will rise tomorrow, but for all we know, a catastrophic disaster will happen and it won't. You're not certain about it, you are confident about it based on history and available information. I will repeat myself. I am CONFIDENT that he will be an excellent NHL'er based on available information, but anyone who says he will for sure is wrong. There is no way to actually know it until it happens.
  11. You're splitting hairs on terminology. I can be confident about a prospect but still accept the fact that there is a possibility of them not translating. I believe Pettersson will be great but certainly is impossible until proven. To be certain is to have proof.
  12. For sure, and I love his humility, but I believe that he will for sure be at WJC training camp, and as a result, that quote made me laugh.
  13. To be clear, I'm not talking about the specific concerns that were mentioned in quoted text from my post. I'm just saying that I'm never completely sold on a prospect until they prove themselves in the NHL. That's not to say that I don't think they'll succeed, just that I have trouble being certain about anything until it's proven. I believe that Pettersson will be an excellent NHLer, but I will not say so definitively until it's proven. I think it's arrogant and irresponsible to do otherwise.
  14. I see where you're coming from but I think "concerned" is a bit much. I always hold reservations on prospects until they prove themselves in the NHL but I also feel that he's proved his ability to adapt to the next level on multiple occasions. I'm not concerned about Elias due to his body of work compared to every other player that's followed his development path. I won't be certain about his future until he's proved it at the highest level, but I'm in no way concerned. I'm excited.
  15. 2 things. 1. <3 Bo 2. "Hopefully World Junior Camp". Lol
  16. DiPietro had a pretty lengthy interview on 31 thoughts with Freidman. Interview starts at 49:30. https://www.sportsnet.ca/590/31-thoughts-podcast/
  17. Yeah, they really have a great combination. Being big is still a good attribute as long as it doesn't sacrifice speed and skill. The problem is that players like that are rare.
  18. I think he'll get a look next year but I don't expect him to be a regular yet. I like Brisebois, but with the current landscape of defense on this team, I don't see a spot for him. This can change of course with off season moves, but for now, I expect most of his season to be in the A next year.
  19. I could be wrong about this, but I don't think Juolevi's fitness level last training camp was the result of a lack of discipline but rather an incorrect training regiment. I recall a lot of emphasis being put on him gaining mass, not just with our media/fans, but by his own admission. I remember watching interviews with him where he talked about "getting bigger" to physically compete in the NHL. He gained a lot of mass, which was noticeable during training camp, but unfortunately, that affected his foot speed which subsequently hurt his style of play. I believe that with the proper training regiment, revolving mostly around cardio, with consistent strength training, his body will naturally develop into a good sized defender with the mobility that his game needs. I believe the error wasn't in lack of dedication, but in an attempt to try and rush his natural, physical development. Hopefully Olli and his training staff have learned from this mistake. I'm optimistic that we will see an entirely different Juolevi this training camp.
