  1. The refs and league could have just told us who wins the cup this season.

Seems like sjs and Boston being gifted a spot in the finals.

If sjs wins it they should make sure they put the refs names on the cup too.

instead of coaches corner they should call it “don told you so”

ive never heard a guy say “I said” or “I told you so” so many times in a 30 seconds..

I'm in Vancouver for a couple weeks and was hoping to catch a game. But I honestly don't feel like supporting this franchise with my money anymore until a drastic change is made. Benning has acquired ONE draft pick over four trade deadlines. ONE. THE GUY WAS HIRED BECAUSE HE DRAFTS WELL. WHAT THE ACTUAL #@#$^.

I don't get the JB contradiction either.  He says he believes the draft is how to rebuild (draft, and develop core pieces) then he trades away more picks than he collects.  Did he only get resigned because he promised the owner he would try to speed up the rebuilding process (again) like when he was first hired, by trading for developed players?  It sure seems like it, doesn't it?  Are these two new guys going to be part of our next core?  They seem like they are more of the Vey, Baer, Granlund, Boucher, Goldobin, types to me.  Guys who are further along in their development, and who are likely not going to become more than what they currently are.  Are these two simply more placeholders?

  6. Just read that both Calgary and Ott don’t have 1st round picks this draft. Both currently lottery teams ...ouch. How painful would that be for either of those clubs to watch bettman announce either of them the lottery winner.

While the rest of the league falls out of their seats laughing.

NYI's really fleeced Calgary on that trade.

Ottawa's first was conditional.  If it's in the top ten, they can defer it to next year.

^ They could be 10x worse next year if they lose EK65.

  7. Still so stoked for  brock winning the MVP at the all star.

So upon further investigation he’s the first canuck to win it and the first rookie to do so since since Mario lemeuix.

    Now that’s living the dream.

It amuses me that Brock can be compared to Mario Lemieux and John Scott at the same time.  Safe to say, his career will be somewhere in between. (...but hopefully closer to Mario)

  8. Alright the high priority plugs have been resigned/signed, maybe Benning should sign a guy that's actually an NHLER and a part of the teams future. Horvat should have been the top priority and gaunce shouldn't have been far behind. Yet Both remain unsigned.

May not be Benning's fault, perhaps Meehan sees that the Canucks need Horvat more than Horvat needs the Canucks and is asking for 1st line money.  Negotiating contracts can be a game of chicken sometimes. Who blinks first?  The Canucks that desperately need Horvat?  Or Horvat who would be ill-advised to sit out any pay cheques.

I didn't realize the agent was Meehan.

This explains the pace of things I think, Meehan is known for extracting every penny.

this is purely business.  fans who form opinions at the jerk of a knee will never understand what goes into contract negotiating.

  9. Demers dienes trade to Vancouver. A thank you card to demers is in the mail.

Would have been a RHD. I'm sure it would be Gudbranson back, with the hope that FLA would add.

If it was Demers and FLAs 1st rounder then maybe but sheesh, if not I'd rather keep Guddy.

  10. Would rather see camarossa in a Canucks uniform over Chaput or megna.

Agreed.  Cramarossa  at least provides something useful.  I don't mind Chaput as a 14th forward but Benning would be doing the franchise a huge favour if he gets rid of Megna by any means necessary.  There is zero excuse fore that worthless plug to ever play a single shift in the NHL.

Cramarossa > Megna for sure. I like Chaput on the fourth line, as long as he stays there and doesn't get put with the Sedins where he clearly doesn't belong.

Letting Cramarossa walk opens the door for LaBate though, we'll see if he can seize the opportunity in camp.

  11. A bad GM would be an improvement over Benning.
