[Report] Sharks claim Jonah Gadjovich off waivers
combover replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
his whooping 2 preseason games with limited ice was for sure enough fair assessment. Lol He was ranked 6th in our prospect pool so if he isn’t good enough what’s that say about the rest of them. Great drafting I guess. -

Ummm a tipping point of talent. lol we kept wee man highmore and a bunch of guys that couldn’t crack the nhl else where and waived a promising prospect. tipping point is the level of patience I hope fans show Jb and green this season on home ice. 7 years of rebuilding our promising young prospects shouldn’t be getting waived while ptans highmore dowelings ect stay, that actually says the opposite of us having good talent. -

Another thrown away draft pick. other teams trash are better than JB’s picks I guess . the great drafter can’t be used for him. 5 nhl regulars on our team drafted over 7 seasons only one developed by this organization. cupboards are bare for our prospect pool. macdough is going to go 4 years so he doesn’t get rail roared by crap coach and management . draft wizard lol Only player picked off waivers gauds. to bad green just loves his worthless Megna type trash just like willie. Who needs a young player with size… instead we have highmore getting knocked down every shift. happy for gauds he might get a real chance to play in the nhl not buried behind recycled veterans that couldn’t become nhl regulars on terrible teams. -
The Score craps on the Canucks playoffs chances
combover replied to grandmaster's topic in Canucks Talk
Can’t say I disagree. solid at forward demko been greats Pretty fair on what was said on the d to. OEL needs to prove himself myers is terrible in his own end and overused. poolman hamonic schenn are all #6/7 guys hughes needs to rebound from last season. and if they play the same crap system that baumer had them playing the last few seasons why would the result be any different. -
[Waivers] 29 players - Oct. 06, 2021
combover replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Hard to call Jb a great drafter when we keep throwing them away.because they aren’t good. is demko really the only Canuck regular we’ve developed through the farm in 7 seasons. ep hughes boeser hoglander all came right in never played in our farm. Doesn’t bod well for this clubs ability to draft and develop. Only 5 nhl regulars drafted in 7 seasons while being a bottom feeder. Lol pathetic. oh well keeping veteran plugs over prospects had been the green and jbs way. Its a reflection on how bad the drafting has actually been. Vessy Boyd chassion now to long a list of failures but an even longer list of draft failures. -
More just number association. I thought edler time had come to an end here three years ago. However A decade of number 23 being one player I have to remind myself it’s not edler. Me - Oh wow Edlers having a really good game tonight…….. me - oh wait . lol. agreed on linden but the situation at that time was brutal.

I sure like rathbone he needs to be in the nhl to get to the next level. OJ same thing he’s been good and needs to be in the nhl ice to progress his game. Lockwood is another guy that I’d like to see get third fourth line duties quick on the for-check always seems to be back and hits. best options come from our own development as it should 7 years in. I still see edler when I see #23

Robin Lehner Makes Some Serious Accusations
combover replied to Thrillhaus's topic in General Hockey Discussion
I agree with you. but there’s so much politics and bs even when betman is gone that won’t solve the deeper issues. When money is involved corruption will always be prevalent. every league has its story’s of rigging corruption betting going back to the beginning of pro sport. But I believe it’s still a minority at this point of the nhl employees(dops player refs mangers coaches ect.)that have been corrupted.stupidity and self serving is a bigger problem but again that’s human nature. And for a Giant business dealing with billions of dollars the game itself still has integrity for me for now and when I doesn’t I won’t waste my time worrying about the cap or cups. as for lenher he named a organization and a coach he better be able to back his Donald trump late night rant up for his own sake. -

Why do you watch it then. Your basically are saying it’s “pro” wrestling. yup they’ve got issues money corruption go hand in hand in every facet of life. for the most part I think the league handles the thousands of employees the best they can and if I felt as you do and this league has no integrity I wouldn’t waste my time on here or watching rigged matches. -
Robin Lehner Makes Some Serious Accusations
combover replied to Thrillhaus's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Hope he can back this up with his “ proof” Career ending if he can’t with defamation lawsuits and rightfully so. no one should make accusation like this via Twitter on a late night rant. lessons from Donald trump. he just hurt the entire leagues integrity pretty sure thats a clause in most contracts for termination. best get your proof ready and on display. -
[Waivers] 25 players - Oct. 02, 2021
combover replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Yup. teams/ gms were better prepared and willing to let veterans go. Vegas bluffs made teams over pay to protect young guys and veterans using picks. just shows how well the Vegas Management team really did at understanding the situation. Seattle bluff got called- mtl leaving Cary price unprotected who doesn’t take him. If nothing else he’d sell merchandise and be a player fans could be excited about. Francis did a terrible job. -

Yup so then he plays one season and goes to the highest bidder. 9 mill will look like a bargain. so it’s essentially a 4 year deal or after three he going to be in for a big raise to keep him here. -

Arbitration rights gives him a one year walk to free agency. could be a 12 mill cap hit in three years. -

So, trades for our RFA's-what's realistic?
combover replied to Got the Babych's topic in Canucks Talk
Lol trade away the two best players cornerstones of the franchise and try to convince the fans and players that are sick of losing this team is still going to win. Besides the fact we don’t have a guy that’s capable of making that level of trade. So good luck. -

So your hoping OEL can become a 40 point guy again while hughes IS a 40 point guy and in 56 games. Nucks willing to pay 7.2 for oel so I guess 7.5-8.5 for hughes is reasonable. OEL contract in two or three seasons let alone 6 has the potential to be one of the leagues worst. So yeah we gave up our flexibility in the not so distant future. OEL reminds me of Erik karlson when all the hype about him going to SJS ( yikes) -

Quinn hughes last season 56 3 38 41 -24 OEL 46 3 21 24 -17 Yotes in a better division finished ahead of us in the standings so the “ bad team” argument applies to hughes to. “Bounce back” excuse is also valid maybe even more so since he hasn’t hit his prime and the entire covid thing hurt his okay to. his agent shouldnt accept less than 7.5 based on what Nucks are willing to pay an old declining player that had similar stats and both were on bad teams. Geez even with covid decimation of the Canucks hughes out performed him. makar wasn’t on a terrible team with a terrible defensive system that saw every dman struggle. How’s Schmidt do here? mall plays to the agents argument for hughes. -

I love that people are now worried about the cap. Lol we’ve been capped out and crap for 7 years but now when we have two young players that are game changes and we shouldn’t spend” play hard ball” “ stand pat” “screw them” “their greedy” “ take less to build a winner” Really it’s hilarious. Yet those same people defended bad signings and trades that put us up against the cap for players not even close to what these two offer and it cost us players for years now. we traded our cap freedom/ flexibility when we acquired OEL. 3 year deals just mean we won’t be able to afford them in just three years OEL will still have 3 years remaining. and Demko Boeser Miller horvat will all be looking for a big paydays to or will leave before OEL s contract expires. Time to pay these superstars and move on. or we can watch what happens as the restless mob fills the arena after an “ aggressive” offseason with winning the only acceptable outcome with or with out ep/hughes and the media loves the drama and is ready to serve it up. Both options have fantastic enterianment value. I hope we just sign them. long term would have been great but I doubt that’s in the cards at this point. -
Baumer is still an assistant and he was the one running the D. we let brown go he ran the special teams . we added Shaw but unless they bumped baumer hes still running the d.

How many gms have kept there job for 8 losing seasons. While being capped out and trading 1st rounders? how many needed a phone call to tell them they weren’t fired? one bad move from being fired? Umm I think we’re way past that. These owners want to win they’ve over paid failed ufas for years nows the time to play hard ball with the actual future of this team and legit super stars. -

Does it - can he afford to have another losing season? Does that depth offset what hughes and EP bring on an off the ice. He acquired a 30 year old that’s has 6 years on his contract for a 1st and guys that had one season left. That’s a long term cap hit. and garland seems good but is yet another very small/slight forward we have a lot of small players. And I’m not sold on poolman and his 4 years Dickinson was the best signing disagree but for me Jb has put this group together to win and that means you need your top line Center and top pair dman. -

I don’t believe Jb has a choice he can pretend to play hardball but bottom line his job is on the line. if your job was on the line would you go into a season without your two best players and fan favourites. Owners want to win, jbs traded away multiple 1st rounders so what his two best young superstars sit and he can ice a sub par line up and lose another season and his job. That picture seemed like a set up from the agent saying show your having fun and not worried about the contracts it’s a game and jbs job depends on these guys being here. the agents and entire league know this is Jim’s last chance season to put up or get out. capped out once again he can’t afford his team to do anything but win. Contracts are screwy this summer most thought contracts would go down due to last year Covid and flat cap but it’s been the opposite especially for high end young rfa D. I just hope these two are in the line up sooner than later regardless of my dislike for JB losing sucks and we’ll be in tough without them. And this isn’t bashing JB for those that are over sensitive.
