haha reminds me of beer. Homer Simpson: Alcohol - the cause of, and solution to all of life's problems.

I know he used to do it... but rarely that season.

the big one imho was Malholtra. because he was out Kesler played too much and after the second round he was gassed - and got hurt the next round. Hamhuis was trying to stand up to the tough play and while we can't say that Malholtra being out caused his injury, the trickle down effect meant tried to step up and do something he rarely does... to try to make a difference physically.

7 games is a blip on the radar. Probably he realizes he has something to learn still - and needs to get his game in order defensively by the sound of it? So he would be in Utica anyways if he decided to stay. he is no Dahlin, he will take time. He could be a solid #1 D. Patience is required. He is probably wishing he was in Van though with EP taking off, so expect him to focus and be ready to a few games at the end of the season! Someone from the team is probably planning on talking to him sometime soon

every team &^@#s up at the draft and some teams are better at it - I would argue we are one of those teams now.

I hope it is only one more year. my fear is that it won't be over until Eriksson, Beagle and Rousell are gone. Even forgetting their cap hit, just having them on the team is going to mean we are going to the bottom. 4 years. ugh. I guess we could put them on a line together and just never play that line... Hope I'm wrong!!!

Gotta love those silver coloured glasses.... silver plated I think

How about just: Q As long as they are all Star Trek next Gen fans.... they probably all are - ya

probably in another 2 years this team will be a lot more desirable - with an imminent chance to win... will make a big difference

Haha just tuned in here to see if there was any word on tryamkins return... and all I Got was this

I don't know man, Dahlin is supposedly quite the player... Pundits calling him the Conor McDavid of defense, et all. You don't get those kinds of accolades without good cause... I think Quinn Hughes could be a Neidermeyer-level player if things really work out - I am really looking forward to seeing how he does! But he isn't going to be a Bobby Orr-level player. And guess what, I think all of us would be ecstatic about that!

Do mean it is fake rationalization because you don't think ad hominum exists? Or do you mean its employment is a fake rationalization and can be used to mean anything is OK? That you actually agree with its use? In any case, not sure what you are referring to. I'm not in favour of anything except hockey talk here, and if people are using this forum for anything else they should be kicked. I don't believe in bigotry of any sort, including racism - which someone has alluded to here in this topic. I am in no way defending said posts, just trying to explain how that in a world full of idiots you can expect most things to be idiotic. too much self interest really... whatever story people can tell themselves to make themselves feel good is the one that they stick to, regardless of truth. denial trumps sports as the favourite pastime of humanity (haha made a pun there)

People with weak arguments and insecurities about themselves often attack the person they are debating with, instead of presenting a logical argument. Look at Donald Trump, a perfect example. It's called Ad Hominem argumentation. It used to be a faux-paux back in the day when honour was worth something, but now it is just a common tactic.

Superman would definitely lose to Mighty Mouse

I say frack it. Give him a shot at Center. Solves a boatload of problems for the team

Yup good post. From what you say, it shouldn't be a problem to jetison some of the dead wood - the bottom pairing D that are taking up space. ONLY problem is if there are contract problems - which some of them do / have had... Thats really the only legit criticism of this management group so far, is their contracts, but who knows the real story, maybe they knew it wouldn't matter early on if they signed guys to more $... maybe they had a problem signing anyone? Hope for good contracts going forward - especially on bottom pairing D and forwards.

Looking forward to seeing what the kid can do this fall! Recent oress coverage ... indicated he is a lot closer than last year at this time. So this might be the year he breaks into the league.

I predict if the canucks have a good season over the next few years he will want to come back. Else he will demand a trade

Jeez... and I know that isn’t even a word.... a lot of hot air here, what did Shakespeare say, much ado about nothing? yes: in retrospect JB messed up not keeping some picks. Obviously you wouldn’t make those trades again. If the players had turned out to be gems this would be mute. For me the narrative and WDs ice time distribution were the real sticking points. And the philosophy of trading picks always was risky... but hey his old team did just that and got Cam Neely back... And we got Naslund in the same kind of deal... so you can’t say it’s not worth the risk. But when it failed move on and admit it, and don’t force the coach to have favourite management players who he has to play to make the boss look good... that really pissed me off and clouded my judgement on other things for a while... what is it? Leipsic on a pig? All pigs are equal... but some pigs are more equal than others! It makes me think that mgmt would be the kind of people as employees that if they screw up they wouldn’t admit to it - which I don’t respect. Or maybe it’s ownership and they are not in a winning environment and can’t be honest? Maybe Aquilini is an asshole... maybe that is all it signifies... or the mgmt are people of low character... one or both of those, but something somewhere is wrong in the state of Denmark. but hey, regardless of my lack of respect for their modus operandi and fake narratives (no... I don’t support trump at all), it is impossible to deny they have done a great job bringing a prospect pool together. If they can just constrain themselves In FA... or fend off ownership, whatever it is.... next year could be really fun! And arent we due for a lottery win? Everyone start going to meditation classes and clear all negative thoughts from your heads and on the 28th leave your bodies to the astral plane and adjust the rigged lottery system with spiritual ... no &^@# that. Start worshipping Satan, and with any luck - which is backwards luck cause it’s the Canucks - we will sell our souls En mass for a guaranteed lottery win! Bah. No that won’t work. How about a fundraiser to help bribe betman and his crownies? Don’t know if we have time to raise that much moola.... death to the canucks! Long live the Canucks! Hot air ensueth....

I blame WD. He wouldn’t let T have the keys to the submarine for any of the weekend parties seriously though... the team is desperate for a player like him. If we start being competitive maybe he will consider it again. or maybe if his family moves to Vladivostok.

Team will be good - I think everyone can see it. As long as all the prospects keep developing and none are flops. So far so good, but lets wait before planning the parade route... What this team really needs in order to actually plan a parade route would be to actually win the draft lottery and get a(nother) star. Dahlin would be sweet - potenitally the best defenseman in the league 5 years from now. And the Russian guy (whatever his name is) would be a win too.. By "Win" I mean get a bona-fide franchise player - we may get one anyways by drafting better in the later picks... but a jump start is exactly what we need. Anyways, sorry to flog the dead horse...
