  1. Nah, actually liked Sbisa here. Just preferred him to get selected since I thought Gaunce still had more to show.
  2. In an alternate universe. Glad we live in this universe where Sbisa was taken.
  3. Second bike stolen from me in a few months. Both were secured in parking garages and locked... smh thats 2.5 k down the drain...

My daily bike is an old 91 Nishiki mtn bike and thieves never bother with it.  It has Shimano xt parts and is a horrendous green and white colour.  Scummy thieves leave ugly crap alone.  Sorry about your loss.

  4. Sad watching Hughes exit interview last year. Something along the lines of “these guys (Tof, Tanev, Marky) bring a lot to the team on and off the ice, and I’m sure management will find a way to bring back all of them because of how much they bring to the team” seems like he was set on all three if not at least one coming back. wonder if it’s as frustrating for the young players as it is for us to see all those guys go

  6. If Jake does end up getting in hopefully we see some of this. Been a minute since I've seen these highlights
  7. The results line is a joke. luckily, I was able to get in yesterday to give info after multiple attempts trying to direct me to voicemail. Tried calling again today (trying to be as proactive as possible) only to get hung up on (someone was on the line, I said hello then line dropped) so tried to leave a voicemail.... only to find out that the VM box is full and can no longer take messages. Luckily for me my info is there already, but how about the many people who are anxiously waiting for their results but can’t even get ahold of anyone in the # that was given
  8. Crazy how for most of the season Raymond, Edler, Hansen, and Schneider  were considered our youngins at 24 back in 2010-11... Currently, our captain is 24 with younger guys making a solid impact on the team.... wonder how the team will look with a few years of maturation

I think rather good imo.. Some really nice pieces coming in future.

Fingers crossed no one pulls a Kesler and the core remains for many years.

I predict at least a 2nd round advancement in the playoff this year if we can get in, and maybe

      if we are lucky 3rd.

  9. Any avid hockey fight fans out there know what happened to dropyourgloves.com? Noticed it's been down for more than a month or so

There's hockeyfights.com but it isn't as good IMHO.

      Besides, I'm a lover not a fighter.

@RRypien37True, was still nice to go on and check out certain fight cards when bored... Feel like I spent more time there than CDC the last few years. RIP (hopefully not) dropyourgloves.com I guess

  10. Different scenarios but Jake this season kind of reminds me of Kassian in the season Torts was here. Started the season off ok, then disappeared for a bit, slowly gained confidence, and ended off the season playing the way we all wanted to see him play. Kass got 29 points (career high still) that year with a big chunk of those points (over 75 percent iirc) coming from the last 30 games of the season. Hopefully we see the same, if not better from Jake.
  11. Watching Kass run around for the Oilers hurts. Looking like the powerforward we all wanted him to become

5 points in 17 games. Exactly the kind of player we wanted him to become.

It's not just about the points. Kassian has looked like a consistent physical force out there every game. Something he only did only every few games (ironically always showed up against Edmonton) with the Canucks.

  12. anyone here have in n out before? Finally going to have it in a few weeks. How does it compare to triple o's/a&w?

      Wilbur

Went there on a road trip to LA in 2006.  I don't remember them to be anything special.  Cost wasn't high, so I wasn't expecting anything special.  Solid, low price hamburger.  I'd say Triple O's is better.

always thought the name was a surprising choice though...who wants a burger thats in n out?

  13. Nylander with a goal Ritchie with an assist Does this mean Virtanen and Ehlers are busts?????? Anyone??? I need to know.
  14. True. A few haven't panned out with us for one reason or another.
  15. Would have been fun to see Kassian and Virtanen play together against the Oilers. Oiler's fans would have a heart attack. For the past two years Kassian has made most of the Oilers fans hate him and the Canucks, Virtanen is continuing the trend
  16. He's pretty good, but not the physical beast Lucic is... Lucic has scheurmann's disease, so basically he's a 6'4 guy with the reach of someone who's 6'6... Also Lucic used to box as a teen. Lucic can at least hang with top heavyweights as well. Then again, Virtanen smaller so I won't expect him to be dropping em with goons to make the big league like Lucic did.
  17. For a fww years now we've had tough projected bottom pairing dmen that were looking promising. Sauve>Polasek>Cederholm>Tryamkin I hope the two we have now pan out.
  18. Virtanen grew up watching Lucic with the Giants.
  19. Let my buddy borrow my spare hockey helmet for ONE PERIOD and now it smells like catpiss. Anyone have any tips on cleaning it? Just spent 10 bucks on sports cleaner spray just for this purpose. Still smells

Ok. Smells better now. Took a while though. Sunlight, Ferbreeze, Alcohol, antibacterial wipes, Lysol, Vinegar, Sports antibacterial spray... All got most of the smell out but there was still a hint of his nasty head odor on there. Turns out a few sprays of my acqua di gio cologne worked to remove that. Thanks for the help guys.

  20. Been watching a few of the PVR'd games from this season. Miss hockey

Are you watching the Calgary series? if so you should count the amount of times the "18 year old Sam Bennett" is said

  21. Gonna be weird seeing Kassian, Lack, and Bieksa on other teams. Still hasn't hit me that theyre no longer Canucks

Well honestly in Kassian/Bennings defense, over the last 3 years Kassian hasn't REALLY been in a Canuck uniform very often

    4. Baer.

      Baer.

      Really only gonna miss Bieksa.

  22. i think Torts handled him well. AV it was hard to tell since Kassian was very young and even less consistent compared to how he was now. Av also randomly took him of the Sedin line to get Burr going... Anyways this is a Virtanen thread dont wanna hijack it. Hopefully Jake learns how to fight a bit better... Then he can be the classic powerforward everyone wants.
  23. I think it's the opposite with Kassian. He knew his potential but new management wanted him to play more like Dorsett.
