  1. Very sad day. I wasn’t the most active poster but I would say I spent at least 75% of my days in the last 14 years checking this forum minimum once daily. will definitely miss this site, which I’m gonna be honest, really brought my Canucks fandom to another level. From typing angrily in the Hodgkin for Kassian trade thread, being just as sad as everyone in the finals GDT, making people laugh with random comments in game threads, reading one dude get called out in white noise for posting a fake gf photo, asking vintage for a sig, seeing Deb tear someone a new one for slandering Burrows, or another one of Heffys hate posts on Lucic…. I’ll miss it all. As crazy as it sounds for myself, I’m currently involved with the Canucks organization and ever since then I’ve kind of distanced myself from the forums… but if it wasn’t for CDC I would not be in the position I am today…. From clicking the prospects section to being able to now work with those same guys… it’s just surreal. you may not have all seen me around, but I want to thank every one of you for making my CDC experience what it was.
  2. … and Kassian …and Pyatt to a lesser extent Bernier, Gadjovich, and MacEwen seems like after hitting our luck with two of the best classic power forwards in Bert and Neely(although we traded him) ; there’s a curse in developing power forwards here. even ended up with a past expiry Ferland… luckily dodged bullets but were heavily in on Clowe and Lucic during FA when they signed their huge contracts
  3. Everything’s kinda full circle. this kinda reminds me of when Kassian bloodied Ben Eager after years of Eager cheapshotting the Canucks. Saw Ben leaking and celebrated and pumped up the crowd after the fight. Not sure if it was last year or before that, but Kassian ran over the MTL goalie and the Habs fan base was disgusted with their lack of push back… I think their only response ended with Kassian hitting his own head on a MTL players helmet during a fight; so understandable seeing Xhekaj celebrate the way he did, I’m sure he’s aware of the history
  4. Take it how you will but I remember Virtanen and him being good friends back in the day
  5. I remember in 2014 after Kass had a solid finish to the season I was hoping to see us draft Nick Ritchie (still think he would’ve done better than Virts, but would’ve been a bad pick anyways) just so we could see him and Kass on the same line. Guess I’ll finally get the chance to see the two Peterborough Pete’s goon it up together in Arizona.
  6. Yeah, he’s one of the players I always remember that would be a pain to play against... until I realized he plays just like Sbisa and is annoying for his own fan base as well.
  7. Damn Motte has really grown on me the past few years... I’ll wait and see what happens to him in FA but disappointing to see him go.
  8. Weird, had a dream the Leafs signed him last night. Always thought he played like a bigger and slightly less skilled version of Etem.
  9. Kinda reminds me of when we lost Volpatti to the caps via waivers. Solid fighter but it’s unfortunate he couldn’t come up with a better preseason... Looked great two years ago... I guess Bo is our best fighter now
  10. Random, I know, but is it just me or does this guy look like an Asian version of Brock? been listening to him for a minute now, and always thought he looked familiar.... only occurred to me recently that it’s Brock I was thinking of
  11. Haven’t watched too much of Patrick in the NHL, but the few times I did he actually looked and played a lot like Adam Gaudette.... maybe a bit better of a skater than Gauds but remember being tripped out at how similar they were...
  12. Nah, actually liked Sbisa here. Just preferred him to get selected since I thought Gaunce still had more to show.
  13. In an alternate universe. Glad we live in this universe where Sbisa was taken.
  14. Second bike stolen from me in a few months. Both were secured in parking garages and locked... smh thats 2.5 k down the drain...

My daily bike is an old 91 Nishiki mtn bike and thieves never bother with it.  It has Shimano xt parts and is a horrendous green and white colour.  Scummy thieves leave ugly crap alone.  Sorry about your loss.

  15. Sad watching Hughes exit interview last year. Something along the lines of “these guys (Tof, Tanev, Marky) bring a lot to the team on and off the ice, and I’m sure management will find a way to bring back all of them because of how much they bring to the team” seems like he was set on all three if not at least one coming back. wonder if it’s as frustrating for the young players as it is for us to see all those guys go

  17. Oreskovich was a beast physically in some of the games he played and a non factor in some as his physicality was really the only thing he offered... but he made some crushing hits. believe he’s a financial advisor last I heard... but yeah I think louis impact is similar but in a different way, his defence is very solid but other than that not much to offer (hopefully I’m wrong) Oreo was strictly a 4th line guy, didn’t play any PK, and rarely ever played more than 8 mins a game
  18. That Miller play reminded me of when Ballard did an end to end rush against Nashville in rd 2 2011 and absolutely bowled over some dude after shooting and getting to the net
  19. Say less need this Bo to show up
  20. Sutter looked a bit like Kesler out there last night. i feel like if we could fuse players; Sutter, Motte, and JT Miller would make a prime Kesler.
  21. Just realized with Olli playing last night... Horvat, Virtanen, Boeser, Juolevi, Pettersson, Hughes Canucks have one of their first round picks from each yr since 2013 on the roster. crazy difference if you look at how the 5 players before this turned out for Vancouver Gaunce, Jensen, Schroeder, Hodgson, White, Grabner (traded w the 2010 1st pick)
  22. idk if its just me (maybe been missing hockey for too long) but this is the most ive seen centremen on both sides kicked out of the faceoff dot. Seems like every other faceoff at least
  23. If Jake does end up getting in hopefully we see some of this. Been a minute since I've seen these highlights
