  1. I hope we dont trade Jake. I cant imagine a scenario where his trade value is higher than his ceiling, or even a conservative estimate of his peak. He's also the type of player that helps you win in the playoffs.
  2. You're kidding yourself if you dont think every GM and every player agent doesn't already see this coming. Projected rises in cap space has been part of contract negotiations in the past and absolutely still are in the present (across every league that has a cap). This isn't some groundbreaking deep analysis you're uncovering here, Benning is most certainly aware. Regardless, a bridge contract is risky for us and we'd be much better suited taking a longer term deal. Its also likely Boeser wants a bridge contract and is betting on the cap going up as well as betting on himself improving. We're going to have to pay more than his market value for his age, production and upside if we want to sign him long term.
  3. I live in Abbotsford and while old Abby is definitely bustling and fun overall the city is pretty meh. I like Surrey and Coquitlam more. Abby is quite affordable though relatively speaking.
  4. Being on a broadcast like that is some bucket list stuff 100%
  5. Especially when you arent a contender. We arent the prized destination we used to be folks, not with this rebuild looming and recent playoff misses. This deal is as good as can be expected, I have no problem with it.
  6. 6 yrs is obv more than anyone including Benning wanted, but these kinds of concessions are what you have to make to sign good UFAs. At least the $$$ amount isnt bad.
  7. Downvote button is back, hell ya

  8. Dudes been called a top 10 player in this league all year and carried the team when stuff was out during the regular season. He gets a ton of credit. A lot of what he does isnt flashy or noticeable to the casual fan though, which is why you dont see them talking about him
  9. I meant specifically TV revenue. Obviously there is other forms of revenue that will be increased
  10. The TV revenue is already set in stone they gain nothing $$$ wise from extending it
  11. The crappy thing is he didnt deserve the suspension for this one. He did vs OKC but wasnt suspended cause they were behind in the series. If this final series was 2-2 Draymond isnt suspended right now, but its 3-1 so he is. So the irritating things is this PR BS game/series management type protocol for league punishment and reffing.
  12. Curry making some big, big shots to start this one off, big contrast from last game.
  13. It'll be interesting to see how this game goes now that the first has ended even instead of the Cavs up by like 20. I think this'll be a tight one for once. I'm calling a tight Warriors win
  14. Or its a sign hes getting slower and his reflexes are going and hes subsequently getting caught more. I dont think his chin is going much, if at all, hes still a tough motherfker and proved that against Lombard at 199. Very few fighters would have survived that first round.
  15. Not sure where you're at but I've seen it talked about a ton. Curry is ice cold right now, hes just not making shots he almost always makes. Hes not even being defended well by the Cavs, except in G3 tonight, hes just totally missing shots. Even Thompson, after going superhuman to get them past OKC, has disappeared. These two have made a name for themselves by being as clutch as it gets, and have quite a few times disappeared when games mattered less. So we'll see whats what when the chips are down.
  16. This is pretty crazy. Cavs must be doubling or more their shooting % across the board. Playing the best defense I've ever seen this iteration play (block city). Kyrie went from being a negative player to being doused in gasoline. If Curry continue to do is best magicians disappearing act impression, the Cavs might actually be able to even this series up.
  17. Lakers: You can make a really good team with how much cap the Lakers have right now. Cleveland went from 10th in a weak East to 2 consecutive finals because Lebron decided to come back and $$$ was spent. Clippers: Players can get moved around, who knows, its a pipe dream but maybe the CP3, Wade, Lebron and Melo finally takes place in LA? Nah, not right now, but they could fit Lebron if they wanted to, and he does desire to play with CP3 and he did recently buy an LA home, but that doesnt necessarily mean anything Rockets: Pretty sure Houston has some cap opening up, some dead cap coming off etc, they can fit a big 3 of Lebron, Harden and Howard, and it would be monstrous. Lebron didnt opt for that when he left Miami and they were all over him, and I cant see him opting for it now, either. Portland: They got lots of space even with Lilliards raise, but eh, doubt he picks Portland and he doesnt really fit with their actual timeline anyways Boston: If they make some moves they can fit to huge FA contracts and they have a bench that would work well in countering GS. Probably pretty intriguing for Lebron. Bulls: Would work but isnt a good fit or likely or attractive to Lebron in any way really OKC: You definitely can have two small forwards in a lineup, look at non other than GSW, the strongest team in the league rn to see that in effect. Lebron has wanted to team up with Melo before too. Lebron can play PF too, well, he can play 2/3/4 very well actually. He definitely fits and if Durant stays they go hard for him if he opts outta Cleveland, because he'd make them the best team in the league. GSW: They could easily fit him just by not resigning Barnes, who is already likely to walk for more money too, along with other bench players that will go play starter somewhere else. This would be the ultimate sell out that would stain Lebrons career forever but theyd also stack rings 2 high on each finger. Spurs: You're right that a lot of retirement would have to happen, but if GS lands Durant this off season (it was heavily rumored earlier in the year but seems less likely after the conference finals) then Lebron is going to have to look at super 3s he can get into around the league, and Leonard, Aldridge, and James actually seems like a big 3 that could at least tussle with a Durant empowered Warriors team
  18. I'm sure you're being sarcastic but, cause thats an area he loves? A team, and teammates, that are far superior to his current one, and that he has already won championships with? If he leaves the Cavs thats gotta be his #1 destination. I'd say the Lakers, Clippers, Rockets, Portland, Boston, Bulls and maybe even OKC/Wizards, if cap allowed, would be ahead of TO. And if he was willing to take the gigantic stain it would leave on his career for selling out, both Golden State and the Spurs would be better fits as well.
  19. Durant is not a better player than James and is a massive choker. You'd have to be absolutely insane to take Durant over James.
  20. If Lebron leaves the Cavs he'll almost certainly go back to the Heat. I'd like to see a Heat vs GSW finals next year, thatd be cool.
  21. Cant really compare hockey and basketball like that, in basketball a single player carries the team, much, much more and can play essentially the entire game if need be. Hockey is a lot more team focused, whereas you transplant Lebron to any team and they gain 20 regular season wins and make the playoffs, at least. That being said, I think in all his losses he was on the lesser team. Probably the only contestable one is the Spurs loss while he was on the Heat in the finals. But that Spurs team is legendary so I still think he was on the lesser team that finals.
  22. Last year they had hero performances from bench guys, that were playing defense like no tomorrow. Delly went to the hospital for IV fluids just to keep up. If memory serves, Lebron had like three 40pt triple doubles in the finals last year. That kind of performance, at least from those bench players, isnt possible this year. Instead, they have defensive liabilities in Love and Irving, who are fairly easily shutdown by the Warriors defense and are also both playing like crap. What it really comes down to is though, GSW is legit better than the Cavs in pretty much every aspect of Ball, both offense and defense, and the Cavs have no answer for them, they just dont have the personnel to compete. OKC was different, they had a ton of long, athletic guys on their roster that were able to play very, very good defense on the Warriors, the Cavs simply do not have the personnel to do that.
  23. Yeah Bisping as a long history of being a pretty big dick Rockhold was eating a lot of shots prior to the KO, fighting really disrespectfully, I was thinking the entire time "what the heck is he doing?" I expect him to lose it in his first defense, whether to Weidman or Jacare and even Rockhold I'd expect to be him next time too.
  24. Yeah, theyve been shooting awful all series. In the 4th with them down so many points they were lobbing a lot of 3s and they were all missing lol. Kyrie has friggen awful shooting percentages this series. Lebron is averaging like 20 pts per game in the finals, straight to a 2-5 record, which I'm pretty sure is definitely up there with some of the worst W/L in NBA Finals history, modern NBA history, at least
  25. https://streamable.com/g3q0 For everyone getting on Rockhold, Bisping was a huge dick and did say "are you OK? Are you OK?" Sarcastically after the KO. I know there was banter between them leading up to the fight and all, but Rockhold does have a bit of a right to be a little pissed.
