It's tough, but as someone who was a P/T smoker, quitting is the best thing you can do for yourself. I found eating a lot of raw veggies helped me. Gave me something to do and it helped in the detox. I haven't touched a cig in a year and I have no desire to now. It just takes time to get to that stage...has nothing to do with luck. Time, willpower, and something else to occupy your mind. Avoid alcohol. Quit them both together. Now I have one or two drinks and have no need to accompany...

good luck. i keep thinking that it will soon be my time to quit. I just enjoy it so damn much and am so damn addicted to the nic hit.
a few things I learned in addiction counseling school; nicotine cravings goaway after 20 minutes, so if you are nic'ing out hard, find 20 minutes of something to do. Tip number two, when the cravings hit, drink a much water as you can get into your stomach in 2 minutes.
