  1. Actually according to crow Tryamkin is lefthanded but is a RD similar to kevin connauton.
  2. I hope your wrong because if its after the trade deadline we will not be able to send him down to the AHL. For example, Zalewski in the 2013-14 season.
  3. Never-mind the KHL cancelled it due to economic reasons.
  4. Nope All teams that miss the playoffs play in another tournament where the winner gets the first overall pick
  5. Honestly I would ask green, if he says yes that he's ready for the nhl now then call him up else no.
  6. no not unless he spends 30 days on the canuck's roster roster or plays 10 games.
  7. It also depends on if Demko wants to finish his education which isn't out of the realm of possibilities. That will take him until hes 21.
  8. every single coach in the NHL does stuff like that. Yes it could hurt their development by rewarding them for bad habits instead of inlisting good habits. The only team that has gone with an all kidline in recent years is edmonton and you can see how that has worked out.
  9. I think it has less impact on defensive play but more towards checking as its required to quickly accelerate hit and then accelerate and get back into position. Otherwise you have to back off early to be positioned right. More quicker gaunce is a more physical and harder to play against gaunce with the same defensive capabilities. I don't think a player can have just one dimension to his game is good enough to be a third liner. You either have to be atleast defensively good and skilled or defensively good and a hard checker, Ideally someone who can put up some points, is defensively good and a great checker. I think that's what separates a thinrdliner from a fourthliner
  10. Not true most 3rd liners are usually pretty quick Manny, torres, Hansen, Higgins, burrows(when he was a third liner), kesler(when he was a thirdliner), Richardson and the list goes on and on. It is almost an essential trait for a good 3rd liner. I think he'll get there but don't downplay its importance.
  11. Its within bounds but also is him not even becoming an nhler at this point. Hes got things going for him but If he doesn't improve on his physicality, speed or offensive skill I just don't see him being anything in the NHL. He is missing intangibles of a third liner like speed and physicality eg, dorsett, Hansen, Higgins, torres, burrows, richardson, kesler, cook, ruutu, and lapierre. I hope he does does improve he just hast to be more faster and physical. I would be happy If he reaches richardson speed and physicality.
  12. Higgins is way more physical along the boards and is a faster skater than Gaunce. Besides defensive capabilities they are nothing alike.Only way I see him becoming a good 3rd liner is if he becomes more physical along the boards or increase his speed and offensive capabilities.
  13. In my opinion he looks like a Shawn Matthias. A big guy who fore-checks but not really hits, can play center and defense, and drives to the net.
  14. He could do that but then again do we really want a guy who doesn't honor his own contract that he signed. That says allot about his character in my opinion.
  15. This can happen only if the KHL team agrees to void his contract otherwise we would have to wait until a the KHL free agency period. Another option would have been a transfer of contracts by paying a fee but no transfer deal exists between the KHL and NHL. Also if the team misses the playoffs then they would be the favourite to win the cup of hope. which is a tournament between the bottom teams where the winner gets the first overall pick so his season could be extended quite abit.
  16. you could always use google translate. Its not great but you can understand the content. Steelworkers attended summer preparatory period "dry". What's your comment? Prepare a very positive way. I am of course its a very good feeling, which is supported by the results of fitness tests. He managed to build on the work of the season and move players' condition on another level above. The important thing is that the players endured intense training load without health problems. What constitutes the difference from last year's training model? This year's training was entirely in our direction. We have a lot of experience in Trinec club already begin the seventh season of our existence. In past seasons we have prepared a team to win the title and victory in the Presidential Cup. This year's was the shortest preparation for our operation and therefore was very intense. Three weeks of this year, we used a well-equipped gym in the new WERK ARENA, we have received traditional training camp in Turkey mainly focused on interval runs, concentrating on the Tatras we made a change this year and trained mostly on bicycles. Importantly, the whole preparation was well-balanced and very good. How were you satisfied with the approach of players preparing for the summer? On the players were preparing for the summer to see that training is fun and have a great appetite to work. This not only contributed to the diversity of the summer training program, but also a very comprehensive service that was provided by the players through the implementation team. An important factor was the ability to use the facilities at the new modern WERK ARENA in summer training, it very helpful to improve the quality of training. I believe that the same commitment to carry over to the next part of the preparation. Conditioning of the players, however, will continue throughout the season. How do you manage to integrate young players into the A-Team? In this regard, we are very satisfied. Until this year preparation boarded Marian Adamek and Michal Kovarčík. Other youths were already settled in the squad and show considerable performance improvements such. Jašek Luke, David Cienciala Douděra Luke, Mark Rose or Michael Foltyn. This year's preparations have involved training of Thai boxing. Where do you see the greatest benefit? Cooperation with Thai boxing trainer Martin Vanko fits perfectly into our concept. Contact training on the mat followed on other forms of training. We wanted to prepare even more versatile and focus on improving stability and response of players in personal duels. I believe that repeated exercises reflected on the ice. Our cooperation will proceed in the season, because we are very pleased with it.
  17. Gernier's deal is two way not one way
  18. Hes always good in the AHL even in the Calgary but that doesn't always translate into instant second line player in the NHL. If so he would have been a second-liner in calgary long ago if it was based on dominating the AHL. I am just saying we shouldn't just give him the spot and he might be a bit raw still for second line duty right off the bat.
  19. You can make this assumption based on AHL games and 5 nhl game or our track record for developing young players is better than calgary??? Even though in the past he has performed this good in the AHL. We will not know that until he plays around 20 games in the NHL.
  20. Its not that hes not nhl ready its if his game is refined enough to be on the second line, with regards to defensive ability, conditioning, and strength. He still might need to learn what it takes to be consistent at the NHL like Kassian and that's best taught with grinders on the third line, similarly how Horvat, Vey, Kassian, and Kennins were taught. Even though your a skilled guy you still have to go into the boards and win buck battles. Also Baer has always put up good numbers in the AHL but has been missing something that has prevented him from making the nhl, even-though he has 30pts in 70 games. It would be ill considerate to blame it all on the coach, there has to be some responsibility on the player too. I there is huge bias in your assessment which is clear by comparing Baer vision to that of the two best plakmakers of their generation. I think he might be a second-liner later in the year or the start of next year but just not to start the year but we won't actually know until preseason.
  21. I am not sure if you remember in preseason the pairing of Burrows-Bonino-Kassian lasted 3 games before WD got fed up with Kassians horrible play to start the year. Near the end of the season there was a time when WD did try Matthias-Bonino-Vrbata and that line played even worse than when it had Higgins. Jensen was just bad. WD did give Matthias a shot and Kassian a shot at the second line but they did absolutely nothing and played worse than Higgins. In the end we was left with the option Higgins.
  22. I want to point out demko is a goalie
  23. I really don't see the point of saving cap space and making the fourth line worse if we aren't going to use it to make the team better. see we save 1.5 mill cap space by trading hansen and replacing him with a rookie and downgrade our team and then not use the 1.5 mill cap space that season which means we downgraded are team for no reason. I am saying is are team is better with hansen right now and we have the cap space and still within the roster limit why not keep him for depth or fourth line minutes. Then trade him at the trade deadline to solve the shink and jensen issue and get the best of both world. Since the canucks want to make the playoffs that seems like the best option.
  24. I believe you can keep him in your roster and play him in hopes that the chl team releases his rights then he can be assigned to the ahl. Since the rule is contingent on the fact his rights are owned by an chl team
  25. If your rookies aren't ready you burn a ELC for nothing which as you said decides your success then you have lesser good ELC years left.
