So, Toronto media has found a trade for the Leafs to win the Cup next year...LOL
Vancouver Canucks get: William Nylander, Timothy Liljegren
Toronto Maple Leafs get: J.T. Miller
Chicago Blackhawks get: Matt Murray, 2023 Canucks 4th, 2024 Leafs 4th- Show previous comments 8 more

@Alflives I’m surprised you’d say that. Nylander would garner similar money. He fits the nux timeline better. He might play better in the western conference. Neither player are favs of mine but I wouldn’t hate the move. Watching pettersons interview talking about miller it left me questioning if he even liked miller. Of the 2 , stork boy might be the better fit

Anyone else think the Canucks would still be dead last on the PK even if the league took pity on us and made all Canucks' minor penalties 30 seconds? <sigh>

Tanev was playing with a separated shoulder, a torn labrum and a sprained neck.....what a warrior.

Warrior for sure but it also highlights why we let him go. It sounds great and fans love to hear how much these guys fight through, but clearly a player that hurt is playing around 50%...
Love Tanev but he is oft injured for some reason and you want players in the lineup who are healthy because that gives you the best chance to win.
I've had 2 of those injuries at the same time (Labrum and separated shoulder). I was a good athlete in my day. There's no way you can be effective with such injuries even at a junior level, let alone pro.

Pettersson added to covid protocol list.

Big weekend for the grandson's hockey team. Vancouver Academy U17 teams coming here for four league games. Play Troy Stecher's nephew's team (Langley Sharpshooters) early Saturday morning. We are putting our 4-0 record on the line this weekend and grandpa can't wait.

Nice to see Brendan Burke, ex Utica play by play guy, doing the NBC broadcast for the Tampa/Carolina series. He iis pretty damn good.

NHL fires Tim Peel...yay!

Typical Canucks luck with Pearson being out beyond the trade deadline.

Congratulations to my grandson and his team for making the finals at the Salmon Arm Bantam AA tournament this weekend. There were ten teams from all over B.C and 2 from Calgary. Great hockey and many thanks to Salmon Arm for hosting such a great tournament.

Okay, I want to know who the real hockey experts are. Those that predicted Edler and Sutter would be leading the team in goals after 3 games, please raise your hand. This season may be looked backed upon as "The Year of the Whipping Boy"!

Calgary leads Edmonton 2 - 0 on goals by Rieder and Lucic. You just have to laugh. Edmonton fans will be beside themselves. Ha, ha

Justin Williams even at 37 is still a great playoff performer. Man, does he come through in clutch situations.
-
Man, MacKinnon must have the most cap friendly contract in the NHL.The guy is just a beast against Calgary in this series and he only makes half of McDavid's salary for the next 4 years.

Columbus goes "all in" at the TDL and now it looks like they may miss playoffs. Who is going to pay the price if that happens? Has Torts passed his "best before date"? Are Koko and Davidson in peril?
Letting Panarin and BOB walk for nothing in a year where they miss the playoffs will be a hard, if not impossible, sell to their fans.

Some pretty damning comments about Erik Karlsson on TSN's That's Hockey. Teammates saying it was like they were under a dictator last year and this year more of a democracy. Also, players indicated they should have practiced more last year but EK doesn't like to practice so they didn't.

Nice tribute to Luc Bourdon between periods of the Calgary/Arizona game.
