  1. The Calgary Flames are really(?) proud to select Vitek Vanecek.
  2. The Calgary Flames select Lucas Raymond.
  3. I know who my choice would be after my selection........but I think it will still be Zegras this year.
  4. With their 2nd round pick the Calgary Flames select Mason McTavish. @kj29
  5. I'm really old.......how do I set up this speed dial thing you speak of?
  6. The Calgary Flames are proud to select Tim Stutzle with their 1st round pick.
  7. Iwill take the Calgary Flames
  8. I would never admit he was such a great player while playing for the Bruins but now that he has retired I will give him all the accolades he rightfully deserves. Great player and a sure HHOF'er. I think the below sums up the type of player he was and the dedication he had to his teammates and organization. Bergeron suffered torn rib cartilage in Game 4 of the finals, a broken rib on his left side in Game 5 and a separated right shoulder and a punctured left lung in Game 6. The puncture eventually caused the lung to collapse, and Bergeron ended up in the hospital following Game 6, spending three days there.Jul 2, 2013
  9. EliteProspects is much better at showing all international play. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/9079/patrice-bergeron
  10. I think this kid has the potential to eventually make the jump to the NHL. As an Edge school graduate in Calgary he would join a fairly impressive list of Edge school players to make the NHL. Good luck Tristen. Edge graduates...... Thomas Hickey (New York Islanders) Joe Colborne (Colorado Avalanche) Tyler Myers (Vancouver Canucks) Matt Dumba (Minnesota Wild) Jake Bean (Carolina Hurricanes) Jaret Anderson-Dolan (Los Angeles Kings) Jacob Bernard-Docker (Ottawa Senators) Taro Hirose (Detroit Red Wings) Jake Sanderson (Ottawa Senators) Akito Hirose (Vancouver Canucks)
  11. Performance Bonuses are paid to players based on their achievements and are not guaranteed. Only certain players are eligible for performance bonuses in their contract: -Entry-Level Contract Players -Players that are 35 years or older and sign a 1 year contract -Players with a minimum of 400 NHL Games Played signing a 1 year contract after having a long-term injury. A long-term injury is defined as a player on Injured Reserve for a minimum of 100 days in the last year. While performance bonuses count against the salary cap, teams are permitted to exceed the salary cap due to performance bonuses, to a maximum of 7.5% of the Salary Cap. If a team exceeds the Salary Cap due to performance bonuses, then any amount over the Salary Cap is considered a Bonus Carryover, and counts against the cap in the next season.
  12. I would target Michael McLeod, Noah Gregor, Morgan Geekie, Cal Foote and maybe Oskari Laaksonen.
  13. Why do people keep talking about Chicago making the salary cap floor? The salary cap floor is set to be $61M and Chicago is currently at $56M with 7 players still to sign...........what am I missing? If they sign 7 players at $800K they will still be above the floor.
  14. Man, there were no winners in this trade.......... Nashville Predators acquire Date Columbus Blue Jackets acquire Ryan Johansen January 6, 2016 Seth Jones
  15. Unfortunately that was not well before my time. The Islanders did not win 5 cups in a row but made it to the finals 5 consecutive years, losing to the Oilers in trying to match Montreal's record.
  16. Chon, I think you might be forgetting Montreal is the only team to have won 5 consecutive cups....1956/57/58/59/60.
  17. He has not been signed by the Rangers so he has no contract to expire. 1) Canadian Hockey League (OHL, WHL, QMJHL) Players: Teams that a draft a CHL player have two years to sign him to an entry-level contract before forfeiting the player's NHL rights. The affected player can re-enter the NHL Draft and, if unselected, becomes an unrestricted free agent. The key date for such players is June 1.
  18. If the Canucks don't offer him a contract this summer he could become a UFA. More realistically, he could become a UFA in 4 years depending on the length of any contracts he may sign between now and then.
  19. How is Zito a finalist? The award is for the regular season only and Florida dropped 30 points from where they were a year ago. Ron Francis should have been a finalist in place of Zito IMO.
  20. So, Toronto media has found a trade for the Leafs to win the Cup next year...LOL

Vancouver Canucks get: William Nylander, Timothy Liljegren
Toronto Maple Leafs get: J.T. Miller
Chicago Blackhawks get: Matt Murray, 2023 Canucks 4th, 2024 Leafs 4th

It’s a good deal for us providing we move Nylander immediately for a younger centre.

@Alflives I’m surprised you’d say that. Nylander would garner similar money. He fits the nux timeline better. He might play better in the western conference. Neither player are favs of mine but I wouldn’t hate the move. Watching pettersons interview talking about miller it left me questioning if he even liked miller. Of the 2 , stork boy might be the better fit

      CBH1926

For that contract plus modified NTC, 3rd and 4th round picks are not enough. Maybe if we are playing fantasy hockey.

  21. I found this perspective on the Frank Selke award quite interesting. It is based on 13 seasons ending in 2021 I believe. Rule 1: Be a Center 13/13 Selke Winners are centers. 36/39 Selke Finalists are centers. Rule 2: Score at least 50 points 13/13 Selke Winners scored at least 50 points. 37/39 Selke Finalists scored at least 50 points. Rule 3: Take a lot of faceoffs. Win a lot of faceoffs. 13/13 Selke Winners have at least 53.0% faceoff percentage. 33/39 Selke Finalists have at least 53.0% faceoff percentage. Rule 4: Spend a lot of time killing penalties 12/13 Selke Winners average at least 1:30 per game on the PK. 33/39 Selke Finalists average at least 1:30 per game on the PK. Rule 5: Have strong possession numbers 13/13 Selke Winners have had a Corsi above 53%. 30/39 Selke Finalists have had a Corsi above 53%. Rule 6: Be on a Top 10 defensive team (in GAA) 12/13 Selke Winners have been on a Top 10 defensive team. 30/39 Selke Finalists have been on a Top 10 defensive team
  22. " It means Boston, along with 14 other NHL teams (albeit with much smaller amounts), will have a cap charge next season equivalent to the amount of performance bonuses earned that the team couldn’t fit under the cap at the end of the season." Who are the 14 teams and does that include us?
