Dan Bylsma seems to be losing the Pens locker room at times. I think we need a coach that can get the players going and bring the best out of the players
Canucks in his tenure >>>> NYR
He had the sedins in their prime (Art Ross, Hart), Kesler in his prime (40g, selke), Edler on top of his game (50+ points), Ehrhoff, good depth on D (just lacked that true #1), and good bottom 6. He also had Luongo
Fair enough
1. Mackinnon - 182 lbs
2. Stastny - 205 lbs
3. Martin - 200 lbs
4. Toews - 208 lbs
5. Marleau - 220 lbs
6. Getzlaf - 221 lbs
7. Keith - 200 lbs
8. Kane - 181 lbs
9. Niskanen - 209
10. Pavelski - 190
well darn 2/3 guys that are under 210 were 1st overall picks and the other one plays on the heaviest team in the NHL
John Scott is a caveman and has less skill than an ape.. how is that even relevent to this discussion?
that's like me saying well I go to school with some 5'7 guys so lets draft them as well since you like small guys... That just makes no sense
Jensen shies away from physical play. Kassian and Horvat are fine but everyone else you mention are 3rd/4th liners. Why do we have to sacrafice size for skill? Why not take a guy like Ritchie where you don't have to compromise. We clearly see things differently and I respect your opinion but I just don't see Ehlers as someone who can thrive in our conference
Every team in the west is now trending to the model where there is that balance. You really think a bunch of tweeners with sick hands will dance around teams like the Sharks, Kings, Ducks, Blues, Bruins? They're having a lot of success right now because of their balance. They're most definitely not getting any smaller, that's for sure
Naslund never had to play against today's Bruins, Kings, Sharks, Ducks, Blues.
I'm not saying Crosby and Giroux would suck in the west but don't you think their numbers would take a dip? Crosby was completely shut out last season against the Bruins in the playoffs. Imagine him playing against big teams like the day in and day out through an 82 game season and into the playoffs.
"silly point"
The league has slowly trended towards teams that are balanced in speed, skill, and size. I really doubt we're turning back time here where size is just a bonus
If I were a team in the east, I would go all in for Ehlers. He has undeniable skill. However, we are in the big bad west and Ritchie is everything a team needs to survive the west
I think Torres has a modified NTC so he isn't going to come here
Kane is locker room cancer so I want him to stay away from the team
Higgins, Kesler, Edler, Burrows aren't in the lineup so I assume they have been traded - all 4 of them have NTC's so I don't see all 4 of them moving. I only really see Nashville interested in Kesler and maybe Higgins but there's no reason they would waive to go to Nashville and I don't think they would give up their franchise D-man for those pieces.
Stastny would probably cost more than he's worth
Anything short of a cup would a failure considering the reward for sucking is Mcdavid/Eichel/Barzal/Hanifin/Konecny/Strome
