    I'm just saying, the Central took a big hit and don't look as competitive as the Pacific anymore, IMO 5 teams from Pacific take 5 of the 8 playoff spots, Canucks one of them

    Vegas has no future, they'll win the cup tonight and then won't be heard from for 7 or 8 years, old team, capped out, as a Canucks fan Im excited about the next 7 years, we have an elite young core, just need to surround it, need to shed some contracts this summer as well

      Let me remind y’all that McDavid was 18-21 during this span, while Robertson was/is 21-23.

       

      McDavid’s points production from age 21-23 = 318 in  198 games.

    I'd do Miller for Philly's 5th OA and Konecny.

    I'd love to see a Domi - Horvat - Konecny line. That could provide some solid, consistent top 6 results.

      Holding on the 5th overall pick doesn’t necessarily mean a  rebuild. Fletcher said he wants an aggressive re-tool. They’re trying to unload some players contracts to clear cap and go hard in the open market. Konecny and Sanhiem are the names rumoured to be on the block.

      I highly doubt Fletcher has any intend of trading that 5th overall pick. Philly’s prospects pool is pretty bare as it is. None of their first overall picks have made any impact thus far, and they didn’t have a first round pick last year. Also, if they trade the 5th pick, they don’t have another pick until the late 3rd round.

    Makar is just ridiculous. Might be the best defenseman to ever play the game by the time he’s 25.

      @JM_ not sure if Josi is better defensively. Makar played more minutes against elite forwards, by a far margin than Josi, despite playing 3 less games. 
       

      Makar - 500+ mintues

      Josi - 450 minutes
       

      Makar also has a slightly better xGA and less giveaways than Josi.

    Man, watching that Brandon Sutter interview with Murph was tough. He was having trouble breathing during it. I cannot see a way Sutter returns to the NHL. Really heartbreaking. Long Covid is no joke.

    I'm actually looking forward to see who Canada sends for the Olympics. Instead of NHL talent I get to see a bunch of guys who'd never be considered, and that's pretty neat in it's own way.

    Watched KHL Kunlun Red Star highlights (they're the team that the Chinese Olympic team wants to borrow players to play for them in the Olympics), and wow SKA (that's Vey and Gusev's team) beat them 7-0 last month.  Wonder how they'll even survive a period against NHL talent (they're also 8-23 with a -50 goal differential).

      Just for the record his ixG (expected goals) is 5th on his team at 1.8. Which would be better than Hughes at 1.1.

       

      Offensively, he’s still getting a lot of quality shots on net, but it’s either not going in for him, his teammates not being able to bury his rebounds, or him simply hitting the post.
