I wouldnt want Jay Bruce, he'll definitely replace some of Bautista's numbers, but he's notorious of being a free swinger, and that's the last thing the Jays need, with Martin, Pillar, Smoak, and Upton already in the lineup. If they can't get Fowler, which is more likely they won't. I like to see them get someone like Angel Pagan or Sean Rodriguez. -
I wonder if they'll ever have another Wrestlemania outside of the United States? Having one in Wembley Stadium would be a surreal atmosphere.

Picturing Smoak as the Jays' everyday 1B is terrifying. -
It's saddens me that Tim-Phillippe-Thomas-Phil-Todd-Phil Phillips is on Smackdown now. I'm going to miss his backstage interviews with Jericho.

As I said a few pages back, if the Jays can't re-sign Edwin, I hope they can swing a trade with Pittsburgh and land McCutchen. He had a bit of a down year this season, but he still managed to hit 24 dingers. He fits what Gibbons is looking for, a power bat, that is a threat on the base path. So, it wouldn't hurt Atkins to ask what it would take to get him in a Jay uniform, his name is supposedly out there on the trade market. He also has a team friendly contract, 1 more year at 14M, with a team option in his final year. I still think Pillar, Travis, and a prospect (Connor Greene) could get it done. I would do absolutely whatever it takes to get Fowler on this team. He's the prototypical lead-off hitter that this team desperately need. Probably need to overpay him, he'll be a hot commodity, in the free agent market. They'll need to find a first baseman, as I don't see Smoak as an everyday first basemen. He's may very well be past his prime, but I always had a soft spot for Justin Morneau. He's a left handed batter, wouldn't cost a whole lot, and still has some pop in his bat. The problem is, he is prone to injuries and has had concussion issues, in the past. But if he can stay healthy, it's a low risk, high reward signing. He and Smoak can platoon first and DH. As for whose going to back up Russ Martin, if they can re-sign Navarro, then Genovany Soto could be an alternate option. Posted similar numbers as Navarro, and it wouldn't cost them much. Lastly, in the infield I would re-sign Barney, as he's a valuable utility player for any team. In the bullpen, if Melancon is out of their price range. Then, I would sign Neftali Feliz as a cheap option for a set-up man (he can also close a few game if you need to rest Osuna). Bring back Cecil, Benoit, and maybe even Brandon Morrow or Dustin McGowen as a long man reliever. -
Styles locked himself out of his car after last night's taping, lol.

The Survivor Series card is shaping up to be such a dud. I feel sorry for those in Toronto who are attending the PPV, after waiting years for a PPV event in Canada. I don't get why they put the two carriers of the main titles competing in the traditional 5-on-5 match? It's such a waste on the PPV and titles, having none of them being defended on one of your "big 4" PPVs. If they wanted to make SS a big spectacle, the most logic idea would be taking your three most over CANADIAN superstars and putting them in a triple threat match for the title, in the main event, IN CANADA.

Playing hot potato with the RAW's women title, I see.

People assume, if you're a highly ranked prospect in the draft, you're guaranteed a spot on TC. The truth is, he was never going to make that team, unless he absolutely blew the coaching staff out of the waters, in the pre-tourney. It's a rare feat, for a 17 year old to make team Canada, especially for a defensemen. There's only been four players, do to so. I think the pressure really got to him. He's been under the limelight since he was a 14 year old, and when he didn't look dominate on the ice, scouts started to nitpick every mistake he made. If Sergachev and Juolevi, were hyped up as much as Chychrun was, both probably would have fallen as well.

During his end of the season press conference, Atkins said he wants to bump the payroll up to 170-180M, which puts them just outside of the top 5 payroll in baseball. Whether or not Rogers allows them to do that, is a different question. Although, it shouldn't be a tough sell to them, just look at the total attendance record this season, ranked 3rd highest amongst the league. Really, all he has to say is, "if you build a good team, they will come.". -
Bob McKenzie's draft ranking, apparently.
-
Stone is their Tanev, with better offensive sense. Arguably their most consistent defensemen last year, on both ends of the ice. Some nights, he even outshined OEL. Murphy is their Gubrandson, but a better skater. We certain have better depth, but I would say their top 4 is slightly better than ours.
-
It shows that if you have a camp like Chychrun had, outplaying the veterans. You deserve a spot on the roster, regardless of how bad the team is structured. If Juolevi had the same impact at camp as Chychrun, he probably would've had his 9 game trial, with the big club. 18 goals allowed tells me very little about their defensive core, considering they currently have 2 AHL goalies as their starters and a fringe #1 on the IR. I wouldn't doubt if the roles were reversed, we would probably have the same results as the Coyotes. IMO, their defensive core is on par as ours.

Heard McCutchen's name is out there on the trade market. I wonder if a package of Pillar, Travis, and a prospect might entice them to pull the trigger. Hate to lose Travis, since he's the only Jays who can hit the other way, and work the counts, but it's really frustrating seeing him injured half the time. He just can't stay healthy. He's still a phenomenal talent, and has a ton of upside, so that could be a good sell to the Pirates. Plus, they need a young second basemen, as their depth is pretty thin. Pillar is Pillar, he replaces McCutchen in the outfield, it's a outfielder - outfielder swap. -
How long until CDC jump on the "Should have drafted Chychrun" bandwagon? 3 points in 3 games, playing 18+ minutes a night.

****, Cena vs. Styles. This is the dream match that all wrestling fans want to see.

I'll admit I had some doubts with Estrada going into this season. Could he repeat his performance from a year ago? But it's safe to say he's been a solid number 2 guy, for the Jays. Yes, he gives up the long ball, but that's expected from a flyball type pitcher. The most important thing for him is if he is giving up the HRs, when there are runners on base. -

You're not going to pay Estrada 13M to be a long man reliever, who only pitches in blow out games. -

Two names I would go after in the off-season, are Dexter Fowler and Mark Melancon. Fowler can hit lead off, and Melancon gives you the option of transitioning Osuna into the starting rotation. Re-sign Edwin, Cecil, Benoit, and depending on the money Saunders. Pick up the option on Grilli and call it an off-season. RF - Fowler 2B - Travis 3B - Donaldson 1B/DH - Encarnacion SS - Tulowitzki DH - Saunders C - Martin LF - Carrera CF - Pillar Bench - Navarro, Barney, Smoak, Upton Rotation - Estrada, Happ, Sanchez, Stroman, Liriano Bullpen - (Long-man), Benoit, Grilli, Bigiani, Cecil, Melancon, Osuna -

Votto stated he won't waive his NTC, and even if he did. The Jays would want the Reds to eat up half his salary or Williams will probably ask for Sanchez, in return. -

I'm still asking myself, "why didn't Gibby sub-in Navarro for Upton, when he hit that single off Miller in the 8th?" Upton would have probably been safe on that play. -

I'm surprised Jose made those comment, considering the Jays have a knack of making bad/rookie pitchers look good. -
I think a lot of hate for Goldberg (especially from Canadian fans) stems from him ending Bret's career, but even Bret doesn't blame him nor holds any ill will towards him for ending his career. In fact, he and Goldberg are actually good friends.

I remember a lot of people were throwing in the towel last year, when they were down 0-2 to Texas. This series isn't even close to being over. 4 straight wins is doable, especially when 3 of those games are on home turf.
